OOC: I'll assume that nobody decided to go to bed.
Sirius couldn't handle silence, especially of the horrid serious variety. He had gotten a pack of his Exploding Snap cards, and carefully attempted what had to be his twelfth or thirteenth card house. The bridge of his nose was sooty, and there were a few telltale smudges along his cheeks. Tentatively, he withdrew his hand. The finished house was still standing. "Hey," he whispered. He jabbed a finger at the house. He let out a little sigh of relief. Whoops.

Luke let out a deep sigh and fell against the chair he was sitting in. He stared into the common room fire and rubbed his cheek. "I want to know who that girl is..." he thought to himself. Sighing again, he turned over in the chair to rest his head on the arm.
Lily walked up into the common room quietly. She was one of the few to leave the ball, even though it had mostly come to a close. As she stepped through the portrait hole, she saw everyone sitting around. She joined them, noticing their unhappy looks. "What's the matter...? Why does everyone look depressed?" Lily asked tentatively.

Sirius exchanged glances with James. He was not tempted to answer. Remus straightened and swallowed a few times. Of course he would respond. Explaining things gave him confidence, something to steady himself with. Something he desperately needed, at the moment. "Um. Yes. Last night...they found Alysson and--and Gwin, you see, and..."

James fully shared Sirius's reluctance to answer, seeing as he was still not quite sure he knew what had happened himself. Then, a thought popped into his mind: Did this have anything to do with the maze?
Kailyn had been sitting moodily, contemplating the night's events. Was there any way I could have stopped it? She wondered. Was there ANYTHING I could have done? No, perhaps not. It WAS an Avada Kadavra, there was no doubt of that. Anyone desperate enough to use it would probably of been too much for her to handle, if she had even been there and ready. And now... "They're dead." She told Lily, her voice flat, emotionless, and yet rather loud. She stood up abruptly, and stalked off to her room, not able to stand it anymore. She plopped onto her bed and sighed. At least Leah doesn't have to deal with this right now... Kailyn felt an acute sense of what it must feel like to be a target of fate or something- First her mom, then.... And.... And now Gwin and Alysson, two new friends. She had only known the Rogues for a couple months, but had already felt rather close with all three girls. And now she was gone. Now she would never find out what she had recognized in Gwin when they first met, something that boggled her experience. After another sigh, her thoughts turned to the guy she had met that night... Who was he? Kailyn was fairly certain that she would know him if she looked him in the eye, and.... That smile, too. In spite of herself, Kailyn slipped into a light doze, a peaceful expression on her face.

Sirius flinched. "Dead?" he echoed, looking uneasily at the others. But he'd been bothering Gwin just a few hours ago. Surely they couldn't be...dead. "Maybe they're not completely dead yet," he said. As dumb as it sounded, even Remus had to agree that their deaths were much too sudden to seem permanent. And though he was tempted, Moony resisted the urge to be rational and point out that there was no getting around it. The girls were gone.

Lily froze dead in her trakcs, a look of shock and horror plastered across her face. "D-dead?" she choked out in a stutter. Memories of Gwin and Alysson flashed before her eyes. She'd known them both fairly well, even though they had never been the best of friends. Lily moved towards a wall shakily, placing her hand on it to steady herself. She slowly sank to the floor as a lump rose in her throat. She closed her eyes and put her head in her hands.
Luke's eyes slid closed as he exhausted himself thinking about the night. His last thought before falling asleep was that he was determined to find the girl from last night...

James wordlessly went over to Lily and sat down, putting his arm around her in silent empathy.
[Sorry, guys, I'm gone until Wednesday, Allie and Rallie until the 14th.]

Lily leaned into him without noticing and cried. Her tears were probably soaking through his shirt, but she wasn't really thinking about that.
{{Saaad... D: I think I'll die not knowing where this is going!}}

[0oc//Actually, I'm waiting for Ralli. She has a plan, but both her and Allie are at camp. Until tomorrow, I think.... And if she doesn't have a plan, we'll come up with someone. Input is happy. ]

The bunch of Gryffindors had a rough night, all curled into their own realities as they slowly sloped into the realization that two girls had died. It was thankfully a weekend, and there were no classes to suffer through. Though they were silent, and had a tough time meeting each others' eyes, it seemed like the silence between the two defined groups would go on. The feude, it seemed, had been put on hold, if not dissapated by the numerous and radical events. [OOC: :snigger:] But during that quiet weekend, the staff were informed, the students now accutely aware of something horrible was afoot, but no idea what about. During the nights, there could always be seen a small puff of smoke rising from the Forbidden Forest, and it seemed, another dangerous beast released. Though noone knew it yet, there were great and terrible plans for Hogwarts, for the Rogues and Marauders alike. Rumors flew wild around the castle, about beasts creeping out of the forests, of death, of preminitions from a particularly wild Ravenclaw, (Trelawny) and somewhere along the line, a hoard of vampires who battled with socks instead of wands.
[OOC: AHA! The plan! At least, the grippings of one...]

[OOC: Geez, Roo was being serious! It really does sound like I'm ending a chapter. Sadness it is. :Yoda-grump humph: In any case, I'll tell you what's up with Dumbledore, and then we can all freak out together.]
