See, I hardly think that's fair. I mean politics and religion are both fairly natural places conversations can go to. Especially politics, given that most of us are adults in the United States, and politics here is fairly universal. Not the viewpoints, but the playfield and subjects.

EDIT:: Also, religion and politics might as well be bannable. People have an inability to discuss them objectively without resorting to "x isn't true" or "y isn't true" about what a person believes, or about the political system.

So it doesn't do any good to let people discuss something that they can't really discuss civilly, aka without making passive aggressive, condescending remarks about another person's choice of beliefs.
