Grant waited for Jewlet to catch up before smirking at her. He managed to hold back the laughter as he looked around. "So where would you be if you where royalty? I have no Idea where to look right now. It seems everyone's in such a panic that they could be anywhere." Grant sighed. "And think I had a good plan. I guess that's out the window and we should just protect the front gate."

Dainne turned sharply as he was aggressively tapped on the shoulder. Though the act itself wasn't painful, the force applied was simply a matter of disrespect. He quickly raised a hand as he observed Aiden drawing close to the man. He raised an eyebrow as he listened to the mans words and gave a small chuckle. "Royalty you say? I must apologize then for considering you only upper class when I first saw you. Judging from your... temperament I would assume you to be Prince Zireno."

Dainne turned away from the man and once more looked out at the attacking force. Without looking back at the Prince, he spoke once more. "However I must say that as Royalty your manners are quite poor. As is your knowledge of the goings on of your Kingdom. If I were not the man I am, I would challenge you to an honor duel this very moment. Such an affront you have made to me, Crown Prince Dainne Alexander Vadlionne, would not usually go unexcused. He sighed and shook his head realizing he let a little more contempt than he would have wished tinge his speech.

"You are fortunate, young prince, that there are quite a few more important events happening at this moment. One of which is this attack. I believe I shall ignore your... arrogance until a later date. For now, allow me to help protect your father's Kingdom the best I may."

Zireno was shocked that any man would speak like that to him. "How dare you say that to a member of the royal family in their own country. If it's a duel you want I'll have your head. If this were my kingdom I would have stemmed this attack at the first gate. Just because you may one day wear a crown does not mean you have the right to lecture me in my etiquette. It is you who are poor in your manners. They mustn't teach proper emissary procedures in your hill billy country!" Zi said yelling at the prince. "You want to see this battle over! You will get it!" Zireno yells at a guard. "READY MY HORSE!!"

Dainne sighed at the upstart Prince. He knew from word of mouth how Prince Zireno acted, and was quite familiar with this certain attitude. Indeed he had to suffer it constantly in his own home through the acts of his own younger brother. He looked at Leon and Aiden and pointed toward the attacking force. "Leon you especially seem confident in the lack of skill these guards have. I give you the opportunity to prove yourself right. Aiden, you know what would happen to the civilians of this Kingdom if this enemy succeeded. Do what is in accordance with your nature."

The two nodded and jumped off the wall, rebounding lightly off the various slits made for archers. It seemed a feat no man could do, but these two had trained their entire life to reach the pinnacle of human strength in order to better protect Dainne. Dainne turned to Prince Zireno and gave a slight bow. "You have much to learn about things Prince. I came not as an emissary, but as a traveler. I only intended to come as a friend to your Kingdom as a man, not as a representative of my Kingdom. As such I have no need to prostrate myself before you and what you think is proper."

He shrugged and smirked at the Prince. "Though the saying goes "The enemy of my enemy is my friend," I highly doubt you harbor any interest of any friends. However, I have heard things about you other than your temper. I have heard you are a brilliant strategist, and as such, I hardly doubt you would deny the aid of an ally. As long as I remain here, you will have my strength to protect this land."

The Queen nodded. "Yes, you're right. I was just worried about the King and my sons." A pained look flashed through her features. "I was afraid that they could be ambushed." Too vulnerable, no, not vulnerable. She just didn't like not knowing where they were or if they were even safe. She was still fretting until they finally reached the music room. When Niro opened the door the Queen had expected to see Prince Dainne sitting down patiently on the couch waiting for her. She was wrong. For a moment, things spun and the Queen started to topple with them, though she caught herself. As Niro suggested that possibility, that he could be fighting, she looked horrified. "He might have. We must find him at once." It was always bad to lose control of a visitor. They could have a hidden agenda, they could be anywhere. Until you truly knew, they could not be trusted. The Queen felt so stupid. Why had she not locked the door? Why had she placed so much on his honor? she could not answer her questions with anything other then the fact that he was so much like her sons, she had let herself be swayed by his manner.

Before she could think hard enough to make herself faint she was out the door already, moving at a very quick speed. She needed to find a place to view the fighting. The balcony. Immediately she rushed to the second level, desperate to find the anteroom. She should be able to see the gates and wall from the balcony.

Niro followed the Queen, though he wonder how she was able to move so quickly in heals. "Your majesty. I know your worried, but don't you think we should at lest get you somewhere safe. I can go look for your sons and for the visitor." He hated objecting to the queen's determiness. But he needed to get her somewhere safe. The battle grounds is no place for a lady. Along the way, he notice two people wondering down the hall. "Grant! Jewlet!" Niro ran up to them with a sigh of reliefe. He quickly reported to Grant, "Thank goodness I found you. I have the queen, but we haven't found the rest of the family. Also there seem to be a guest here as well. Prince Dainne who we think went off to help fight. And the Queen..." Niro turn to address the queen when he notice that she kept going to the second level. He turn back to Grant with his hands to his hip. "...is one quick footed woman."

Alexander searched through Henna's room for quite a time before he finally found his possessions bag. Inside the bag were his ten levitation daggers, the magical book from the night before and a small pouch of Moon Sugar. The daggers were a special gift from his father and since such a time, Alexander had never used them once for fighting, but today that seemed like it would change. Alexander removed the daggers from the bag and used the long holster to wrap them around his chest in the form of an 'X'. Alexander couldn't even feel the weight of the daggers, as if they were almost weightless; perfect for Levitation. Feeling that having these daggers on his person and with nothing to hide them, Alexander felt exposed yet he was fully dressed. Feeling the need for cover, Alexander used the dark green cloak from his last venture to cover him like the Elders from his home kingdom. With the hood of the cloak drawn over his head, Alexander seemed somewhat of a small rogue, so he drew the hood back with his hand. Now feeling fully prepared, Alexander opened the window of Henna's room, feeling the wind hit his face and the sounds of horses galloping. There was no time to ponder anything; Alexander jumped out the window and slowly descended using his Levitation to the ground below.

Zireno thought for a moment about what Dainne said. He began pacing as waves of thoughts moved through his head. Using Dannie means less of my people will die and theirs a chance he will to. On the other hand whats to say that he's not apart of this attack here to gain our trust and then let his troops in. It's too risky to let him help. I could put him out in front of the walls and then he couldn't open the doors if he wanted to. Coming to a stop Zi looked at Dainne. "It is true my tactical prowess is a mach more any man and your abilities may prove useful. Your will be best suited protecting the main gate from the ground." Zi then turned and walked down the stares to the courtyard where a guard held a pure white horse and a steal helmet. Zireno mounted the horse and put the helmet on.

User ImageJewlet finally got herself under control and removed her hands from her face. "Hm." She began to think. "I don't know and I usually do." It was to chaotic for her to think clearly. "True." She sighed lightly and looked at Grant. "Yes." She nodded her head as she walked keeping her out for any of the royal family.

Grant continuted to walk until Niro ran up to him. After listening to his speech he sighed. "I told you to get her to the war room so we could discuss a defensive plan!" Grant yelled. "Well after her man. We need to get everyone together." Grant grabbed Jewlet's hand and chased after Niro. Luckily this wasn't hard even dragging Jewlet behind him.

She didn't notice that Niro was not behind her and burst through the anteroom doors to see the fighting. She was probably safe here, far enough from the arrows and the fire. She could not see anything of value, except that the troops still had no particular formation or order. They were confused, skilled but confused. Like her. The queen let her muscles relax for a moment and took a deep breath in. She needed to collect herself, she was letting events get her riled up. She had to act like a calm, collected queen. She finally began to get a grasp on her emotions and her mind for the first time today. She was focused on the matter at hand and not the million other things that were going wrong.

Calm.

Dainne chuckled as the Prince ordered him to fight at the gate, but held his tongue in check this time. It's a pity he didn't see what I see. The enemy is confused. They have no more coherence than an angry mob.

He turned away from the wall and followed the stairs down to the next level. As he emerged from the tower stairwell, he realized that he was on the opposite side of where he needed to be. Sighing he hurried along a hallway adorned by countless mirrors, but came to a pause before an open door. Taking a quick glance inside, he saw to his surprise the Queen out on a balcony looking at the same thing he had just watched. Quietly he approached her right side and looked out over the balcony. He could see the enemy force better from the more relative height, though the enhanced sight fared little better in revealing any standards.

"Quite the predictament we are in wouldn't you say Your Highness? I must admit, the timing of this attack could not have come at a worse time... Although depending on how you view it, an attack now may prove easier than any other day." He rested an arm on the balcony railing and stared into the dark mass. On either flank he could just barely detect a slight increase in activity, and the shouts coming from either seemed a little more filled with fear, rather than bloodlust. It would appear Leon and Aiden have reached their destinations. I should hurry and reach mine as well.

((Egads sorry for the crappy post, but I'm exhausted now. Just needed to get something out to keep Dainne alive sweatdrop ))

The Queen didn't jump when he was next to her, she didn't even look him full in face, instead out of the corner of her eye. She had found Prince Dainne, or rather, he'd found her. This time she would not let him go. "Yes, I'm sure our enemy took the chaos into account." Because they would have probably planted spies in our midst, she added to herself. She continued to watch the fighting. Both sides lacked direction, both were fighting rather sloppily. Damn the council, had Grant been the Captain at the beginning of this battle it would have been over by now. As she realized she was getting distracted and thinking of things that should have happened her mind switched gears. What could quickly turn the tide of battle with the fewest possible fatalities? Well, more for that later once Niro got...

She just realized Niro was not with her. She swore in her mind and didn't let the vexation make it to her face. Well, she still had to mind the Prince, who's guards were conspicuously missing.

"I feel guilty for ripping you away from the thrill of battle, but now that you are here, I must request you come with me." She did not bring up her residue of shock and anger at his desertion of the music room. "May I ask where your guards are?" Even the guards themselves were a threat in such times. They would not be under suspicion either.

Dainne shrugged as the Queen spoke to him, never ceasing his gaze upon the battle unfolding before him. "To me, there is no joy or thrill in participating in battle. Though most Royalty residing upon this earth view it as a sport in its own way, I maintain my conviction that it is truly nothing short of barbaric greed. More often than not, men do battle over a materialistic necessity, be it land or money. It is my belief that every man is entitled only to what he can earn, not through what he can take."

He stepped away from the balcony rail and looked at the Queen. "Of course, there are worthy causes to fight as well. For the defense of ones honor, or that of his or her subjects. To protect anothers rights as a free being. To protect what is rightfully yours. These things are a worthy cause for fighting. I look upon this force and wonder. This is not a force of an entire Kingdom seeking to subjugate Dakrim. What then, are they fighting for?"

Dainne considered her final request and question, trying to decide whether or not he would honor her request. He folded his arms and looked toward the door exiting the hallway before looking again to the Queen. "I realize that the timing of this attack and my arrival are dark coincidences indeed, but if coming with you, instead of helping to defend your people will alleviate your suspicions, then I have no choice but to accept. As for my friends, they are doing what should be done. Many lives on both sides will be saved by their actions. Just look at the enemies flanks."
