It was Lillith who got the guarded and wary look this time. "Miss Alexia is our friend. A woman who wanted nothing more than to protect /all/ Tamathians from this stupid war. And this is how people repay her." she replied, her voice both angry and sad at the same time. "She didn't ask for this war. I didn't ask for it. Most of the people that still live in this city didn't start it or ask for it either. And yet, we are all victims of it one way or another. I do not want this never-ending monstrosity to be the legacy of my homeland. I don't think it is what Miss Alexia wants either. But we all do what we must."

That voice sounded familiar, Alphonse thought to himself. He supposed it was possible that... turning to look at Lillith, he decided to say nothing. Besides, he could very well be incorrect. Alphonse had no desire to answer Surflue any more than Lillith already had. in truth, he had really begun to tune the man out once he started giving a history lesson. Surflue had been entirely incorrect in assuming confusion on Alphonse's part, but he had felt it impolite to interrupt a man who so clearly enjoyed showing off what he knew.

Alexia heard a familiar voice and turned her head to the side moaning softly. She opened her eyes to see that she was still in the doctor’s home, but her location had changed and some one was very near to her. She looked up to see Alphonse, and her face immediately brightened. “Alphonse!” She exclaimed and as quickly as she could manage she sat up and threw her arms around him. She clung to him with all of her strength and rubbed her face into his shoulder. “How did you find me?” she asked pulling away only because she did not have the strength to keep herself against him any longer. “Gods.” She hissed her head was pounding and the pain was unimaginable.

Seeing Alexia ging to Alphonse like that showed Lillith that the woman would be alright, provided that she was given blood and time to heal. She took several steps back, both emotionally and physically, before adresses the woman that had let her into her home. she knew there was no more time for resting, and it pained her.

"Miss Alexia... I.. I ran into someone that is in the military. The people of the city have five days to leave before the war truely hits... and I don't think anyone has warned them... on either side of the river. If you know of some tunnels that lead out of the city, please tell me, and I will start getting people out right away." Lillith tells her with a very emotionless and calm voice.

"Umm... get me a pen and I can sketch it for you." She said not knowing how to explain it with out making her confused. It was to complex to explain. She looked worried, "Were is Mallory?" She asked worry in her voice. She did not want to boy to be anywhere near this city when things started going down, "is he with Lance?" She hoped that he was. Being with Lance was the safest thing he would do at that moment Lance's gift was very good at keeping him safe.

Confusion eroded in my head, but I took care to seem cool and collected, a practice I'd perfected over the years. "Alexia, please drink more," I said, gesturing to the glass of thick red liquid on the coffee table. I smiled and turned to the speaker. I pressed the little faded white button lightly. "Come on up, Tom," I listened to him mumble something on the other end and hit the entrance key. I turned back to the three. "I hope you don't mind, a friend of mine is stopping by. I would have told him that I had company, but seeing how horrific the times are I don't suppose I see it best to deny a man in need of any kind of medical assistance." I grinned sheepishly. "Please, stay comfortable, this probably won't take long," The anxiety in Tommy's voice hadn't suggested anything short of panic, but I didn't want to worry anyone. I heard a muffled knocking on the door and swept from the room to answer. I fumbled with the lock in the knob and opened the door. "Tom," I smiled, about to put my arm around him. That's when I saw the girl beside him. Her name, I didn't remember. I knew they'd break up soon, and, by the looks of it, I was right. She was clutching her stomach a little and biting her bottom lip, so much so that I thought it would begin to bleed. "Come in,"

"Thanks," I murmured, eyes on the ground. By his tone I knew that Dr.Surflue had gotten the just of it. He guided us into the little living room. Oh. My. God. Lillith.

Lillith took one look at Tommy and the girl at his side, and rose from her seat. She handed Alexia a pen and paper off of one of the tables. "No rush, Miss Alexia. Get better." she then turned her head to the doctor. "I'll wait outside while you tend to your patients." she told Surflue, and then quickly made her exit, looking like she felt as if she had become the spare wheel no one needed.

Alexia paid the new comers no mind but could tell that their presence make Lillith upset. She took the paper and pen in her hands and quickly sketched what she could remember of the city and all of the tunnels leading out, not to mention a few of the bunkers that she had recently restocked. She set the finished map on the bed next to her and reached over for the glass of blood. As it passed over her tongue she could taste the metallic saltiness of it and moaned softly, she finished half the glass before setting it back down and licking her lips. Her eyes looked tired and dull, and she knew that she was not ready to get back up and going. But she had a little more energy and she sat up tall putting her arms back around Alphonse. She needed someone to hug right then she felt as if all the comfort and happiness had been wrung out of the world.

Alphonse held onto Alexia as much to give her physical support as because he understood that she needed it. Tom's entrance with an obviously pregnant girl warranted only a short nod and slight clenching of the jaw. In truth, Alphonse was not really so angry with the man for parading about his latest conquest. He thought so little of love and relationships meant to last forever that it had no power to surprise him when others consistently proved him right. But Lillith... Lillith was someone he had come to care about, much to his own surprise. And for that, Alphonse found himself disgusted with her once lover. He swallowed his distaste and instead spoke in soft tones to Alexia. "Mallory is with Lance and they were both safe and well when Lillith and I came to search for you. I do not worry for the boy; Lance will keep him safe if only to spite me and my old man's rage." Alphonse smiles very slightly with this statement. He knew that was not strictly the truth, but he suspected that it helped.

The news of her boys seemed to help Alexia relax a little against him and she closed her eyes, and buried her face in his shirt. She did not want to tell him what had happened, but knew that he deserved to know. "I-...I lost him. He was to strong, A-And she would not come to sanity. I'm sor-ry." She gave a few silent sobs against him in memory of her harsh and painful failures. It hurt a lot more loosing to that monster than actually falling from the roof. Her short dark hair was messy and spiked with dry blood, and she was covered in bandages, hardly attractive at the moment, but she did not care. She had lost the life of two beautiful girls because she had not tried hard enough to save them and now she was condemned to live with that for the rest of her immortal life. In her eyes that was just as bad as taking a gun to both of them herself.

"Hush now, ma petite belle. What more could you do to save one with no desire to be saved? Believe me, this night I have learned the same harsh lesson with her sister. You have done all that you could do." Alphonse gently stroked her hair. He should get her out of here, her and Lillith both. But he hesitated looking at the condition Alexia was in. And while Lillith was somewhat revived, she had nearly died. Neither of them was truly recovered. "Right now, let us focus on those who will let us help them, oui? We should perhaps go to Lillith before she decides to take off on her own."

Alexia nodded. "Alright." She said softly. And pushed away from him a little so that she could try to stand up. she felt like she could but she did not feel like she would be able to run for very long. She let her legs hang off the side of the bed, then pushed herself up. and swayed for a second before regaining her balance. She gave a sigh of relief and walked around the bed to give a hand to Alphonse. Her eyes were no longer harsh and cold with a determined goal behind them. They were more like they had been in the beginning, soft and bright with only the slightest glimmer of hope in the dark depths behind them. "Thank you." she said kindly and a smile washed over her face.

Lillith had indeed only stepped out into the hall, pacing back and forth in front of the doctor's door with pain and worry on her face. "Five days... that's all the time I have... have to get the children and families out first... but where to put them all?" she thought aloud.

Alphonse lifted Alexia's hand to his mouth and brushed the lightest kiss over her knuckles. "From you, there is no thanks required. It is good to see again in your eyes the Alexia that is very dear to us all. We would hate to lose you to all of this." This fighting, this loss, this guilt over what could not have been prevented. Enough was more than enough. Giving no more notice of Tom or his companion, Alphonse nodded politely to Dr. Surflue. "Merci beaucoup, monsieur. We will now take our leave." And he exited the apartment, Alexia's hand in his.

The singer stopped pacing as soon as the door open, her eyes going wide in half-worry, half-fear. "Miss Alexia? Shouldn't you be resting?" Lillith asked as she saw her and Alphonse walk out of the room, her voice full of concern.
