"Well, they have to acknowledge it. Madame Pomfrey kept pestering me about it while I was in the Wing," confessed Peter. "She says that if your parents outright refuse to sign, there's this long, expensive process that they have to go through, so that they can legally disown you."

"Alright. We'll just have to try and explain that to them." She pushed herself back up and stood slowly from the bed, feeling a bit dizzy. "You're lucky you've been in here the whole time. It's been bloody chaos outside with that whole Death Eater show. We're not allowed to even leave our common rooms after dark."

Peter stared incredulously. "But...that's stupid. They don't think the Death Eaters are going to show up again, do they? They'll do it sneakily, if anything."

Jess shrugged. "All I know is that life has been terrible for us Slytherins. They think that we are somehow involved, as if we could get them into the castle." She shook her head at the mere thought of it. If the Dark Lord had wanted Death Eaters in the castle, he didn't need their help to do it.

Peter frowned. "But...you've been alright, haven't you? No one's given you any trouble, have they?" he asked, eyeing Jess' stomach again.

"Oh, no, I've been fine." Jess pulled Peter up from the bed and started down towards Pomfrey's office. "Apparently being a prefect exempts me from being called a Death Eater, though they're not even letting us do our night patrol."

Peter nodded. "Alright. Good. And I'm not sure I want you to be doing your night patrol, anyway." He put his hand on the doorknob, which was Charmed. After a moment of hesitation, the knob decided that Peter was permitted inside, and the door swung open.

Jess walked in behind Peter, her eyes purposely avoiding Madam pomfrey's gaze as she eaased herself into one of the chairs in front of the woman's desk. "We...we need the rest of those forms."

Madame Pomfrey Conjured two chairs and two pens, and motioned for them to sit down. She opened up a file cabinet from her desk and pulled out enormous stacks of forms. "You'll be here for a while. Would you like some tea?" she asked, thankful that they were, finally, filling out the forms.

Jess nodded. "Please. I haven't really eaten today." She realized immediately that she had made a mistake by eluding to the facct that she had been skipping meals. She stayed quiet, hoping they wouldn't notice.

Madame Pomfrey, rather that reprimanding Jess, opted to go fetch some tea and some nutrional buscuits.

Jess looked for a good lie for a moment before simply shrugging. "I've been nauseous. You know, morning sickness and all. I couldn't keep anything down." What a load of tripe. But she would be damned if she told Peter she was trying to gain as little baby weight as humanly possible.

Peter looked discomfited at first. He had no experience of morning sickness. "Well. You need to have at least two meals a day. For the baby's sake."
Madame Pomfrey came out carrying the tray of biscuits and three cups of tea. She set it on the desk and looked at the young couple expectantly. "Go ahead. Take one."

Jess ignored Peter and only reached for a cup of tea. She wasn't nauseous, and her stomach growled a little at the sight of the biscuits, but they were carbs and wouldn't do well. She wanted a salad.

"Have a biscuit," Madame Pomfrey urged, before she could stop herself.
Peter, who'd started to fill out his form, glanced over at Jess. "Yeah." He smiled slightly at her. "Go on, Jess. Take one. It's only a biscuit."
