Good evening, all! How is everyone?

Just read Lovecraft's The Shunned House. Moving on to Cthulhu now. Never read it and I'm probably expecting more than he's going to deliver, but oh well, haha. I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

The best part about being home from college is actually having the stamina to read books. Usually the last thing I want to do after 2 hours of reading is pick up another book.

I will certainly let you know what I think, then. 3nodding Read Zann, Rats in the Walls (Which had probably the most dated name for a cat I've ever seen), and TSH. Each one's been getting better than the last, though I thought Rats in the Walls had way too much backstory, and he handled it much better in The Shunned House.

Looking forward to this since it's regarded as his Opus by a lot of people.

I wouldn't regard it as his Opus. The Dream Cycles are some of his best writing. I also preferred At The Mountains of Madness to TCoC. Cthulhu is just so prominent in many stories that it became his most famous story.

Haha, I forgot if I brought it up to you, but I won his complete works over Halloween. Going to make an attempt to get through as much as I can over the break.

Is there an order to reading the Cthulhu mythos and such? They're organized in here by date of publication so I'm just sort of jumping around.

Personally I liked the Shadow over Innsmouth or like Cog said At The Mountains of Madness over TCoC, but TCoC was good too.
