i know something
i wish we could bring more indies bands over... the bigger bands like gackt, diru and l'arc already have huge asss fanbases and lotsa money... i say bring over indies and help them get more international fans XP

Indies VK?

gonk

well sure!! as thats the only idies stuff out there.... hell no!!!

i say bring over some of everything..... not just the VK that most people seem to be familiar with... though I'd loooove to see what spome americans reactions to visual kei would be..... not that my family would care (well.... maybe my dad and step-mom... but they are stupid anyways) they are used to the stuf i look at... which is pretty much all vk >.<

but yeah... like i said.... mainstream bands already have fans all over the place. they get plenty of americans buying their CDs. i told a japanese guy I knew about Vidoll and he was surprised. so my thought still stands on draggin more up an coming indies bands who need to build bigger fanbases here to america.......

but it's not like i have any say in it... non of do.... it's up to them to come if they want to XP

yeah... ummm... end rant-like comments here XDDD

The Polysics were in Penn this year... I got an email listing all the concerts from Tofu Records, and I remember, because that was the closest to anywhere I would be, but the dates weren't good for me.

Erm... they don't have a release with them... I tried to find the email, I used to keep all of them, but I can't see it anymore. I don't remember what it was... I think they were just promoting the tour.

One thing that really bothers me about the whole thing is that any band that comes through doesn't really do much to dispel the whole 'those crazy Japanese' idea that's connected to basically anything Japanese that makes it's way here. [Read full post on 1st page]

I would like to really thank you -- I never got why so many people were against bands playing at cons until now. What you said really made sense. My mom, when I first started listening to J-rock, and would talk to her about it, frequently said "those crazy Japanese"... I'd like to think now she's got a different perspective on them, since I've been talking to her more about the culture, and not such a generalized opinion based on certain bands and certain anime, etc.

Way too many thing are being marketed today mainly as "being Japanese" or related to Japan in some way. It's really rather sad, now that I think about it.

Yeah, I guess we should start out with our little demand that they open their borders, or we'll open them forcefully. Aren't we just the cutest little tyrant.
