Jack was worried, but when Kai reminded him that these people were his friends, his very good friends, he felt like slapping himself for forgetting that. He looked at Kai. "Kai, if there is a mistake and they end up trying to take your life then I have to shook that comment back at you, I think I speak for all of us when I say they will be taking your life over our dead body. In my opinion, if it comes down to this place having to be destroyed to keep us all alive, I say let it go, it would suck, but we could move on..." Jack stopped, He was never ever good at sencing things with his mind, but being around these friends for so long had sharpened his sences between them, and Rem had stopped him in suprise. Suprise that he felt that, and what he was feeling, "Um... are you okay Rem??"

((Heehee. The Arena as a formal-dress affair. It tickles. -kicks mental post generator- Okay, get into gear! I'm sick of these short posts!! (machine: ~whine~)))
Aergan watched Rem for a bit, and hopped onto her head. He looked over at Jack. "Ah, she'll be fine," he settled onto her head. "Muscle aches, you know." Without changing his position and content look, |What the hell was that about?|

Jack gave the bird a look that said "you think Im that dumb, next time I get a sling shot, your my first target" his look said that word for word for word

Aergan mentally smirked at Jack. "For all our sakes I'll act my age and not comment back." Something mean came to mind, but he decided against that, as well. He sighed. "And that is why I find humans irritating sometimes."

Rem chuckled, as if some how the laughter would make everything right. "Aergan's right Jack. I'm fine. I just had a little bit of a shock. It seems I'm feeling my age than I thought." She laughed again.
She wished she could look at Aergan, but seeing as how he was on top of her head that was an impossibility. |Lets just say that something was on my coat tails and I failed to notice and I should have.| She wondered if Aergan could also pick up images from other's minds. Because at the moment that was all her mind's eye was projecting. Images of the men in charge of taking her 'back'. You'd think living for millennia at a time would make one lazy not the other way 'round.

There are excitables around.| He added the last bit in reference mainly to Jack, who he KNEW would get excited about something of this caliber. If Rem didn't notice something, then it was worth knowing. He then looked back at Jack. "So you have a good enough aim to use a slingshot? I never would have guessed." It was in a playful banter tone, but it was sort of a flat one. He had been sensing a bit too much gloom from the group, and needed to lift the tone some.

Jack shook his head and waved off the comment from Aregan, he wasnt too sure if he was a good shot himself, the only time he ever really needed to aim was when he threw something, and even then he didnt need to, what he usially threw was quite big. Jack then tried to change the subject, "so as Kai saw I did, did anyone learn any new tricks to go with their ability since Ive been gone?

"Oh F**K that!!" Kai exclaimed. She took out her flute from her pocket (it was more accessable than her blade was) and thwacked Rem in the head with it. The old Celtic flute was made of sturdy stuff. If it could survive Jack's gas station blast then she was not TOO worried about it connecting with Rem's hard head. "I had to tell what the monkey on my back was! Now YOU have to fess up yours!! NOW START FESSING!!"

Jack all of a sudden and without warning Jack actually spat out as he started laughing! that was one of the most unexpected things he had seen from Kai, but was glad she did it. He whiped a tear out of his eye from the humor and tried speaking. "Kai... has a point heh heh."

After blinking profusely and looking at the flute as if Kai had whipped out something pink and fuzzy. She then leveled an emotionless stare at Jack as she cursed that Aergan was more awesome with his mind prying than she had first imagined. "Who said I had a monkey on my back?" She tried to play it off but sighed when she saw the look Kai gave her. "He found me. The one from before my memories, he sent some minions to find us. They're... close" Rem said the last word carefully. Then she added so low it was more a growl than actual words. "It's all his fault, b*****d."

Aergan, who had been knocked off of Rem's head in the collision with the flute, was flapping in the dirt and swearing in a grotesque language. He threw and extremely ugly look at Kai, and changed into a crane-like bird. He stood in a rather sulky manner, his feathers rustling like blades. "Well, let's replace tact with irritation, shall we? Watch where you're throwing your crap, Kai!" He calmed down a bit, debated changing back-but decided he was too lazy to-and looked back and forth between Rem and Kai. He always preferred hearing information than prying into people's heads for it...it wasn't his fault, though, when he picks up on feeling-laden thoughts.

Jack blinked in total confusion, he was happy that Rem had spoken up, but what she had said, he would had understood better if it had come from a dog, Jack kept his cool and didnt ask, they were lucky to get her to speak he thought, so he waited to see if Rem would say more.... or if Kai would bonk her again ( xd )

Rem wanted to reach out and smooth Aergan's feathers but was intimidated by the sharp looking beak. Instead she looked at him apologetically. She could feel waves of confusion rolling off of Jack and decided to try and help him understand, at the risk of confusing him further. "Jack I don't have all my memories. I only remember maybe the past 150 years or so. What little I do have of anything that happened before that is jumbled at best." She waited to see if he understood and if Kai had anything to add or more questions.

Kai gave Rem a dark look. It was hard to decipher which mood she felt more: worry, anger, fear, anxiety, uncertainty. She knew what Rem was talking about. Actually, the person (or persons) she was referring to had attacked her friend while she was around before. Kai had even had to deal with them once or twice to aid her. They were definatly another force to recon with. After a moment she swallowed hard, pretending it were those emotions and pushed them out of her mind. She needed to think clearly. She shot Aergan a glare but didn't say anything. She then turned to Jack.
"I... don't know much, because Rem hasn't been able to explain it to me either. And the experiances I've had with them have left open a lot of questions. But... what I do know is they want Rem for something. And one, a woman, is her counter-part. Like the Mr. Hyde of Dr. Jekyl."
She looked at Rem for confirmation. "Am I right?"

Zaira emerged from another secret passage, different than the one she had entered, and made her way back out to the X with something in her hand.
Squatting over the X again she conjured up a small spike of ice, held it over the cross in the dirt, then suddenly extended it to make a small hole in the ground.
Dropping the small object in she got up and walked over to the group "So, these guys are something we need to worry about?" she had discovered Sotaru's watching orbs a long time ago, so she could keep tabs on the arena while she was underground.
((I'm gonna see The Dark Knight tonight~ In 5 hours to be exact.))
