They say ‘freak’ when you’re singled out.

"Sunnuva nerf herder!" he cursed as the boy signed off. Really, he'd had like, two seconds to type something, and then Cory disappeared. Fun ruiner. Devon growl-sighed, flopping onto his back harshly onto his duvet. Another sigh, though this one was softer. Nothing else to do but sleep till dinner time. But he wasn't even kind of sleepy. Well, he supposed he could tire himself out by using his powers. It was probably a stupid thing to do, but it would work. With this thought in mind, Devon hopped off the bed and strode to the wall outlet. A few twists with his pocket knife into the screws, and the outlet cover fell off. Now there was a hole in the wall, wires and circuits and metal dodads running in all directions. He roughly jammed his hand into the socket, grasped a handful of wires, and went berserk with power. He tried not to really affect anything in the school, but by the time he was worn out, he'd set off at least one ceiling sprinkler, exploded one or two keyboards, and short-circuited the lunch ladies' fancy computers that they used to charge students for the food they bought. Of course Devon wouldn't realize all this till later, because he now collapsed onto the ground, hand out of the hole in the wall, asleep; his hair was sticking up in all directions, little slivers of electricity buzzing every so often, and he was smoking faintly. But at least he was asleep.

And he stayed asleep for a long time. It was five and a half hours later that he finally woke up. Wow, he wouldn't be sleeping tonight. Unless he pulled that trick again. Which he didn't plan on doing. He sat up, feeling like crap. Yeah, burning up most of the glucose and salt in in your body kind of did that. Groggily, he groped for his messenger bag and fished out his leftover lunch, scarfing it faster than he probably should have, but oh, sweet energy. He lay on the floor for a few minutes, letting the food reenergize him. Once his head stopped pounding and his stomach stopped feeling like it was going to reject everything he'd just given it, he sat up again, scratching at his Einstein-esque hair. He'd need to shower. But he was still hungry, and couldn't be bothered. The prospect of water made him cringe.

Standing up, he traveled to his suitcase, still mostly unpacked. Clothes were tossed about haphazardly until he found something suitable. Sure, some might make fun of his Star Trek costume shirt, but they wouldn't approach him anyway; no one ever did. He slipped the light blue sweater on, looking at himself in the mirror. Yikes, his hair was terrible. Perhaps a hat, then. A few seconds later, and a skullcap was pulled snugly over his mane of electrocuted hair. It now laid stiffly flat down his neck and in his face, looking mostly normal. Though he smelled faintly of smoke. A sigh. Devon looked at the digital alarm clock. Dinner time. Time to go be amongst the aliens.

Packing away his laptop, Sarek, and slinging his messenger bag over his shoulder, Devon made his way towards the cafeteria. In one hall he noticed it was particularly damp. Oops. Whistling innocently, Devon went down a different hall, hoping that it wouldn't start molding. That would suck. And smell. But he was at the cafeteria now, so it hardly mattered. Hmm. What looked good, aside from everything? Well, he was in his Star Trek shirt, and this particular sweater color and sleeve decorations were indicative to Spock, so he figured a vegetarian meal was best. That left fruit or salad. ...No. Screw the shirt, he'd have a huge slice of pizza with everything on it. As he was going up to the check-out counter, he noticed the lunch ladies writing IOU's instead of using their computers. Huh? When he got to the front of the line, he saw that the computer screens were wigging, full of static and random flashing numbers. Oops. Again. He looked around, hopefully thinking no one was watching him, and then pressed his palm to the back of the computer monitor. Within a few seconds, the computer was back to normal. And he was weakening again. This food needed to be in him now. Hastily, he handed the lady his student ID card, payed for the food, then found the nearest table; who cared if it was empty or not, he needed food.

Ahh, that was better, he thought about half-way through his pizza slice. As if just remembering, he got himself a bottle of Gatorade, too, and then sat back down, opening his messenger bag. He extracted Sarek and opened him, logging into the school's Internet (using the student's account instead of the administrator's). Oh, the chat window was still up with Cory. He closed it, rolling his amber eyes, before pulling up World of Warcraft. Ah yes, the perfect way to spend a dinner period, pwning some low-leveled Horde noobs. He rolled the rest of his pizza up into a roll, eating it with one hand and playing with the other. Ah, heaven.

(( Sorry, gais. gonk

EDIT: I just noticed one of the genius legends has my RL name. biggrin ))

Please dont cry, i didnt want it this way.

Mitsukai walked gracifully into the cafeteria and got in line, getting a supreme veggie pizza. The special was chicken, that alone made her wanna barf. Then again, all meat did that to her. She saw the table with her friends, and she saw the table with the kid playing war of world crafts, then there was Cory's table. So Pheebe grabbed a smartwater and sat down at the kid playing world of war crafts. She wanted to know the nme of the tecnilogical genius. "Hello, i'm Mitsukai." She said softly. (oh, for those who care, it's pronouced me-sue-key.] She looked at the kid, who smelled like smoke? Okay, in this school that shouldnt be odd. I mean, a boy exploded earlier. So she put that thought in the back of her mind. The boys long hair was somewhat frizzy to, like he stuck his finger in an electric outlet. Would someone do that though? Probelly not. Mitsukai instinatly had a large intrest in this boy. He smelled like he just stuck his finger in an electrical plug and somehow he cracked into the school microphone system in order to play marco polo with them, all though he did cheat.

Mitsukai looked over at her normal table, Joesph was looking at her weird. She was always talking to someone new and making new friends. Thats just how she was. Joesph, not so much. But Cory was looking at her weird to. Was he that much of a reject he had to sit alone? Thats kinda sad. Mitsukai put her attention back to the kid who smelled like smoke. He was playing World of Warcraft. Mitsukai never played that game, and never had any interest to.

User Image

Joseph smiled at the two. "Hey." He said softly and looked around the cafeteria. He saw Mitsukai walk in, and sit with some kid on his computer? Some times she was to social for her own good? Wait. That was the kid that was watching them swim, weird yes. Oh well, Mitsukai knew what she was doing.

Joesph tried to tune into his friends conversation. Not really having much luck at it, oh well. So instead he ate his chicken. It was yummy, as the rest of the food here. Going to this school rocked.

User Image

Cory looked over suprised Mitsukai was sitting with someone other than her friends. He always called it a clique, obvious he couldnt call it that anymore. Oh well. Cory finished his food and walked around the school, trying ti find somewhere to relax.

(( I could try making a girl. I'm terrible at playing them, but I could try. ))

Devon had a dorky smile glued to his face as he ran around the Horde area, hiding behind things and waiting for lower-leveled characters to walk by. Then he struck, disposing of them almost immediately. He let out a victorious, almost maniacal chuckle. Being mean online was so fun. Just as he was coming out of stealth mode, someone surprised him by addressing him. He yelped slightly, losing his cool in the game and totally getting ganked. Crap. He sighed as his priest was annihilated, resurrecting in the graveyard. Now safe, he looked up at the girl. She had veggie pizza, an excellent choice. He had finished his piece not too long ago, hands having been wiped on his ripped jeans. Well, her intention seemed friendly enough. No need for phasers, then. He still looked at her suspiciously. "Archimedes," he answered shortly, having always wanted to be known by his middle name. Why wasn't she with her friends? This was odd for her species to deviate from their pack mates. This was one for the captain's log. He held his hands out shoulder-width apart and made two small circles with his hands in greeting.

Briefly, he saw Cory walk by and then away, and he smirked faintly. Fascinating. Jilted perhaps? Oh, mortals were so amusing. ...What else could he say to this girl? Why was she sitting with him? He remembered from her file that she had 'absorption' as her power, but that didn't make a whole lot of sense. She wasn't going to consume him or something, was she? Certainly not. But it was reason enough to stay cautious. Occlude the mind! "You stray far from your pack, young one," he commented, trying to either scare her away or start some semblance of conversation. Sitting there awkwardly wasn't how he rolled. "Are you sure it is wise?"

As he awaited the fair lady's answer, amber eyes strayed to the table with her friends. Sociable, this one. That one! The bubbly one! He remembered she could make illusions. He'd have to be careful around that one; if you could make illusions real enough, it would be enough to cause insanity. The others didn't really faze him, though. Controlling weather, regenerating, it wasn't that offensive. In fact, he had the inspiration to do a little trick. It was pretty simple, as most teenagers had mobile phones, to zero in on the unique technological pathways of the little phones. It was also simple to send a mass text: All your base are belong to me. It made him giggle inwardly as he sent them, still appearing on the outside to be avidly listening to Mitsukai. Which wasn't said like he had imagined. He'd always thought it was 'mitt-soo-kye,' but was surprised. Good thing he hadn't tried to pronounce it before; that would have been mildly embarrassing.

Mitsukai smiled at Archimedes. That was his real name. Odd, but Mitsukai was odd to. But Mitsukai was Asian, so it was normal to have a weird name. But somthing like yuka or yuki or something majorly cute like that. Or even a American name like Pheebe or Sue. But her name ment Angel. She should start introdusing herself as Angel. Thats american. Oh well. She already introdused herself as Mitsukai.

Mitsukai looked at him and had to try not to burst into giggles. 'You stray far from the pack, younge one?' Ha, that was about the funniest thing EVER that someone said to her. "Well, i'm not a wolf, wolf have packs, people have cliques." Pheebe corrected him in an obvious playfull tone. "But, they'll live. And as long as you dont figure someway to get electrical stuff to attack me, i'll live to." She said smiling. "That is your power right? It makes sence. I mean how else did you get into that speaker thing." Mitsukai said and took a bite of her pizza, yum. She loved veggies, but she loved fruits even more so. OH! She would get a fruit smoothie at the movie theater tonight, yummm.

Mitsukai noticed Cory walking away, what was his probelm. He seemed__mad? Jealous? Confussed? Either way, Cory did'nt want her here. Why? Eh, probelly just the jealous ex boyfriend bull. Could he really not be over her? I mean come on? It seemed about time. Mitsukai thought over his name. She was debating if she could pronouse it. Because she'd see it as an epic failure.

Minron kept to the corner table as he ate; trying to reframe from making contact with anyone so that future events they planned him into didn't affect his studies. Last year, it was often for everyone to plan Minron into events and bring him along despite his protests since being a Lizardmen was a popular kind of thing last year. This year was different, but it could easily revert back to the old ways if anyone knew he was still at school and that would mean mediocre grades and less nap time; Minron wasn't going to sacrifice his nap time for social activates he would never go to in the first place. The last one he had went to was that stadium event with Exo involving those robots, which they ended up busting up after when they called for them to fight. Minron wasn't proud of the things he did last year and didn't want any of it to be remembered this year, so silence was his best asset.

Today's light snack was burger and fries, a classic Minron had indulged in last year quite often, but rather two burgers and non fries due to his previous self's meat only policy. While eating, Minron read one of his old Lizardmen folk tale books; one of many he had on his large shelf back in his dorm room. This one was a bit new since only recently had he began reading any of them when he was given a culture based assignment for one of his classes. Lizardmen culture was barbaric and war based, so a lot of their stories were too. This story was the story of the Dragon clan, a group of half Lizardmen and half dragons. The clan was the most feared in all of the Lizardmen home land, but they died out a long time ago during a predicted civil war. Now Minron was studying them for the project he was given, despite it being already done for the most part; never hurt to add more.

Minron reached for some more fries when he realized he had eaten them all and went back to reading, trying not to focus on the fact he was still a little bit hungry. Minron had to keep up a scheduled diet or risk gaining back his hunger problems and there were a lot of those last year he wished to never remember due to all the horrible moments. Still feeling a bit puckish, Minron got up with his tray and dumped out the garbage before heading to the snack machines. With his book still opened onto the page he was reading, Minron searched his pockets for money, but found had had none left or it was still in his dorm. Minron specifically remembered he had twenty dollars left for a snack budget just in case, but so much good that did when he didn’t have it with him. Mentally defeated, Minron went back to the corner table and started reading where he had left off, trying to ignore his slight urge to go back to his room for snack money.

They say ‘freak’ when you’re singled out.

(( His is pronounced 'are-kuh-mee-dees,' if you're unsure. ))

Devon could tell she was holding back laughs. Fascinating. He'd have assumed she would look at him strangely, arch an eyebrow maybe. But alas no. Intriguing. He wondered if her other friends were as accepting. Or was it foolishness? Whatever way one looked at it. He, however, arched an eyebrow at her as she mentioned cliques. "Clique?" he echoed, though he was feigning ignorance; he knew what the word meant, it was just fun to pretend he didn't. "You Earthlings have strange terminology." He shook his head as if bewildered. Turning back to his game momentarily, he logged out so he wouldn't get killed whilst his attention was elsewhere. Once done, he took a swig of Gatorade, which he promptly choked on when she mentioned his power. He swallowed harshly, wiping his mouth. Well, there goes his lurker status. How to explain this? Did he outright admit it, lie, skirt around it?

"Indeed," he answered finally. "But I could still use my vast knowledge of the divine machine to combat you." He probably wouldn't unless she attacked him for some reason, but it was always prudent to keep on one's toes. As he waited for her to digest that comment, Devon pulled up her saved profile again and looked at it more closely. Two parents. One older sibling. Powers appeared biologically. There were two kinds of power development: Biological and parasite based. Biological just meant they were born with them, and they were always there or showed up sometime during their life. Some called them God-given. Parasite-based powers were those thrust onto someone, like Devon's. His powers showed up immediately after being injected and operated on. His were no God-given powers; more like Devil-inflicted. But he didn't believe in that mumbo jumbo anyway, for all the good it did him.

Hm. He was still rather hungry, actually. He figured after this one was scared off he'd get himself a juice hamburger. Mmm... his mouth watered at the prospect already. Hastily, he closed Mitsukai's profile and opened a new Word window, transcribing their conversation. Never hurt to be too careful. Then he took a moment to subtly study Mitsukai. She was pretty enough, he supposed, for a human. Y'know. If you were into that sort of thing. Definitely the most attractive out of the females he'd seen. Cory was pretty hot, too, for the male of the species. Aside from that, nothing really struck him. "I shan't use the divine power of the technopath to end you so long as you don't absorb me." 'Or whatever,' he didn't say. Maybe this would coax an explanation out of her. He wanted to better understand her power, but it wasn't in his nature to ask such things out of the blue.

(( Totally didn't realize Mitsukai was Asian till now. It made me have to go buy the Hollaback Girl video on iTunes. Asian girls are like, my one weakness. crying So hard not to write Devon thinking 'DO WAAAAANT. *drool*'. ))

The red. Well, it filters through.

(( thats actully a cute name after i relized how to say it. Yes Mitsukai is asian. I wanted to have the same character i had in the roleplay which maddiox made it. So i used her, even with her weird name. I created her when i was an anime addict. ]]

Mitsukai smiled. She didnt really refere to her friends as a clique. And ohh, he seemed cool like Minron and Kyuubi. Where was he from? The fasination bubbled inside of Mitsukai. She wanted to know everything, he seemed soooooooo interesting. "Well everyone else calls it a clique. A group of people that are always together. Ussaly cliques are to themselves. Reason, the school considers us a clique. But we talk to everyone. Obvious proff, me talking to you." She said and smiled. "So, 'us earthlings' huh? Then where are you from?" She asked, trying to not jump outta her seat in excitement. Thats how it was with Minron. After she had to use her power against him. It was so long ago she didnt remeber why. But it was a very interesting incounter. And then they became best friends. As to mention it, she hadnt seen 'jake' anywhere on campus. She'd have to stop by his dorm and invite him to the party.

"Oh, well i could just use my power to." she beamed. She loved her power. But then again, hated it. "I touch you without this glove." She said holding her gloved hand up. "I absorbe all your thoughts, memories, powers, and physical strength." She said and smiled. It could be handy, if she actully liked her power fully. But what happened to Thorne reminded her how terrible her power was. "Though i can now controll what i want to take." She said softly. Now they had the power thing down. She wanted to know more though. Like the reason for his name. It was cute sure.

Mitsukai relized she only took one bit outta her yummy pizza since she sat down, so she took a bite and a sip of her yummy smartwater. She loved veggie pizza. She wouldnt eat anything meat related. So her only other choice was cheese. Which gets boring real fast. Mitsukai debated invinting this guy to the party, she'd wait till they talked more. Would they talk more. He didnt seem as intrested in the conversation as she was. She was absorbed. That was a bad thing. But he seemed intersting. If someone put Mitsukai's bubblness in a bag, it'd be enough to cheer up a whole starving village in Zimbawe. And if that was possible, someone should tottaly do it.

(( Minron willlll be social(: Because Mitsukai lovesss him!!! Maybe forced social, but social! ]]

I wont lie, we're not going to make it, going to make it.

Kyuubi Katsukai

PostPosted: Mon Jun 15, 2009 4:35 pm

Kyuubi walked to the cafeteria. He looked around. He saw Mitsukai talking to someone. He also saw Daina, Nikky, and Joseph. He went to grab some food. He grabbed some pizza. He saw someone at the corner able reading. He decided to introduce himself. "Hello" he said to the person, not recognizing Minron.
PostPosted: Mon Jun 15, 2009 4:59 pm

Minron looked over his book with half opened eyes and a disappointed frown; Kyuubi had found him. Maybe if he was subtle, he could play it like he didn't even know him, but Minron was against dishonesty despite the numerous times he was dishonest last year, but those were necessary leek the situation where his armor cursed him to a few inches tall; that was horrible. Reluctantly, Minron placed down his book and sighed, making eye contact with Kyuubi.

"Hello Kyuubi..."

Minron said with a groan, knowing full well he wasn't going to be able to finish his book today due to this encounter or any book for a long time; it would only be a matter of time till Mitsukai got wind of this discovery or probably she already knew; that girl was hard to fool, even with an entire change of species. Kyuubi was different then Mitsukai in the fact he was more respectful or at least Minron remembered him being respectful or was that someone else? Minron's memory wasn't the best when it came to people.

Kyuubi Katsukai

Kyuubi was suprised as he realized it was Minron. "Hey Minron, long time no see." Kyuubi was glad to see his friend. He noticed the frown. "I am guessing you didn't want to be found?" Kyuubi knew if this was true he would not want him to tell Mitsukai.

They say ‘freak’ when you’re singled out.

"Hm, so your species has herding tendencies. Fascinating," he breathed, doing an impression of Leonard Nimoy, which no one else would probably get. He didn't understand social tendencies. Why did some people feel the need to befriend everyone? Didn't anyone value alone time? Well, maybe not at this school. He supposed he'd have to adjust if that's how it was going to be. Or wholly reject it and become a recluse. That had its ups, too. Now how was he going to answer this question? Where he was from? Technically he was an earthling, buuuuut... "I am from planet Vulcan. I've come here as an essence and found a body to occupy. Once my mission is complete, this Archimedes boy shall have his body back. Be silent!" he yelled at himself, as if beating down a second personality. "You'll have your body back soon enough!" He shook his head, turning back to Mitsukai. "He's rather displeased."

Excellent! He was learning about her power! He made sure to type every detail of it. Oh, he hadn't noticed her hands were gloved before. And her power sounded much scarier now that he was enlightened. Though his physical strength was kind of pathetic, so it wouldn't really be an asset. But damn, if she had his powers... she could really hurt herself, for one thing. His power was very reactive to his emotions, and being a teenage girl, hers were probably all over the place. And his memories... that would be a doozy. He didn't have a horribly depressing past or anything; it was mostly boring. Yeah, he got called 'freak' a whole lot in middle school, but that didn't really faze him. He convinced himself that they were just jealous of his Jedi mind powers. But if she absorbed those things, did that mean she took them from him, or just had them copied to her? Queries, queries.

"Fascinating," he repeated, bringing a hand to his chin. "What an interesting specimen." Another swig, and he was done with his Gatorade. He tossed the bottle towards a trash can, and HA, it made it! He pumped his fist, a victorious, "Ah-ha, yes!" cheered, feeling himself very awesome. After that, he noticed Mitsukai's choice of the veggie pizza. Not many people chose that particular style. The pepperoni and cheese were the most popular flavors, since the veggie pizza usually had vegetables that some people found unsavory. Food was food, in Devon's opinion. He liked most anything. This was developed from three years of 'okay, I'm dying of hungry and about to pass out, I don't care what the hell it is so long as it's edible.' He wasn't picky at all. At least, not anymore. He couldn't remember if he used to be picky.

Please dont cry, i didnt want it this way.

Mitsukai tried not to laugh at the planet thing. She didnt believe it, because if he was on a secret mission he wouldnt tell her. Then he did the arguing with himself. Now that was funny! Real or not. "Hm, well if you're on a secret mission, advading a poor boys body, you're not supposed to tell anyone. Right?" She said looking at him in the eyes, giving him the 'i dont belive it. Sorry. Truth now?' look. She thought the lie, maybe truth, was funny. So if it was a lie or truth, she didnt care. Minron came from where ever lizard man came from, and Kyuubi came from another deminsion. So the planet Vulcan was very possible, but not really. "I would be displeased if you took over my body to." she said still smiling. It took alot for Mitsukai to dislike you. Like attcking her where she's serisly injured. But thats a long story. Thank goodness he didnt go to this school anymore.

Mitsukai smiled. "Yea, but the powers and strength fade after awhile. Anywhere from one hour to three weeks." She was giving him alot of information. But he seemed intrested. PLus, she couldnt expect him to tell her all about him if she kept to herself. She had no way of knowing he was typing down these details, if she knew, she'd be freaked out. Pheebe laughed when he made it, well not that he made it, that he said 'ah-ha yes!'. "Woot!" She cheered for him. She then took a few more bites of her pizza, finishing it off. She wasnt going to eat more since she had a party to go to tonight, more food, calories, ew. She took another sip of her smartwater. She was dangrously addicted to these.

Mitsukai thought about having his power for a bit. Problem, she didnt know how in controll he was with her power. She could kill herself with that power. Death. No. No. NO! Scary thought. Plus side of his power, he could obviously hack into the school hard drives. Wow wait, could he hack into anything? "Can you like hack into my laptop and stuff with your powers?" She asked. All the things he could do. He could hack into computer systems, and other stuff like that. Could he destroy tecnoligy? Could he fix it? This kid could be rich. And naturaly, Mitsukai was now even more obbsessed with finding this kid out. Probelly unhealty. No, deffinably unhealthy. Oh well. He was a mystery she wanted to find out. She was fighting the temptation to take off her glove and touch him. That would be cheating. An invasion of privecy. So, she would never do that. Never. Poor Thorne. Mitsukai probelly still had his power. Where was he? Didnt he say see you at dinner? She hadnt even invited him to the party yet. Rejection...ouch!

Nikky looked at Daina, not believing her ears. Her friend could not be affected by drugs or alcohol, that was kinda wierd. "You hear that Joseph. Daina isn't affected by drugs...or drinking. That means she can out-drink you!" She said with a laugh, hoping to snap Joseph out of his dazed state.

Nikky munched on her chicken, pretty good for a school meal. Her eyes wandered the cafeteria. She saw Mitsukai talking to someone she didn't know. Kyubbi was talking to someone that looked vaguely familiar. She shrugged her shoulders and finished eating. She was on edge, waiting for her birthday party that night.

User Image

Daina laughed at Nikky's statement. "I suppose I could." She said morosely. "Well, that would all depend on if he was willing to risk his title." Daina gave a teasing smile. She too, finished up her meal. Since her body kept up with itself, she never ate alot, which was a plus. Less money spent, and she didn't have to worry about her weight.

Daina started wondering where her friend Cadence was, but then remembered that she usually arrived around dinner every start of the year. Absently, she ran through outfit possibilities for Nikky's birthday party mentally. She hardly noticed what else was going on in the cafeteria at the moment.

User Image

Cadence arrived late, same as every other year. Parents giving her a hard time, same as usual as well. She hastily dropped her things off in her dorm on her bed, and made her way down to the Cafeteria.

Walking through the line, she picked up some food and looked around. She spotted Daina, Nikky, and Joseph sitting at one table, Mitsukai sitting with some red headed guy who obviously liked his sci-fi, and Kyubbi talking to someone who looked a bit peckish, and familiar. As she walked past Kyubbi, she dropped off her extra bag of chips for the guy he was talking to. "Hey guys, see ya later.." She said, then pointed to where she would be sitting. She made her way past Mitsukai as well. "Long time no see, eh. I'll just be sitting with the others. And, oh, I'm Cadence." She said to the guy sitting across from Mitsukai. She waved her goodbye and sat down on the other side of Daina.

"So, what have I missed?" She asked curiously, pushing her glasses back up on the brim of her nose. First days back were always interesting.
