"Dutch...?" A shocked expression crossed her face as she tossed a look over her shoulder at him. Had he actually given her a name? Maybe she was the one coming down with something now. None the less, she nooded and noticed the way he looked down at the art on his helmet and chest...it wouldn't have crossed her mind as strange yet with the topic and his trailing off; she knew it must have been her who did it.
"Well, Dutch...its Nariko; since I remember you forgetting...call me what you will, I don't really have code names or nicknames." Comes from the lack of interraction with no one but family, of course, but it was true as she gathered all the supplies shakily in her arms to balance. "Is that her work...?" The vixen inquired, obviously talking about the skull and bones.

"Nariko?" he said as he looked up at the tree tops, almost wishing he could just experience one of those orbital drops one last time, but he knew that wasn't going to happen, short of finding someone who could fly. " Is that your code name or a real one?" he had to ask. He knew that Dutch was just a nickname, and he was find by that. Very rarely did he ever go by his real name.
"Yes. She painted it on when we first met. She was....just like you." he remarked bringing his eyes back down to earth and sighing knowing he was stuck here without his friends and squadmates

"No, Nariko is my real name; means hard working child in Japanese since my mother is such." Not that he probably cared, but it did at least explain the foreign aspect of it. Shifting the contents in her arms she removed the fishing pole and leaned it against the stump she was sitting on prior so he could take it. Readjusting the medical kit, her food bag and the shovel she found a more comfortable position before something caught her attention.
"Did she now....that must have been ......what." Folding her ears back as a skeptical look crossed her face, she couldn't understand how his wife could be like her. If they didn't get along, how did he and her? I guess it explained her choice in decal... "You men and your taste....hopefully you didn't treat her as bad as you do me. Yet I guess thats not true if she married you..." Leaning her weight to her right foot she tilted her head in thought, well if he had found someone who could put up with him...then there just had to be someone out there for her afterall; it was a big enough world!

"Oh....." it was all he could really say in response to her explaining her name. From all he'd heard of this infamous mother, he wasn't sure of what to expect. He wasn't sure if she was a Spartan or not, so without knowing, he kept his mouth shut...that is until she crossed a line.
Whipping a glare back at her, he intentionally jolted from his sitting, caring little about his injury at this point, and pulled a small pistol that was disguised as armor around his waist. He was about done of her bad mouthing him. At first he didn't mind, but when she brought Gretchen into this, it was all hats off.
Holding the gun to where if he did fire it would only hit the ground, he gave her a glare that was a combination of fury and hurt. "I don't care if you insult me....but you've crossed a line Spartan" he hissed. Had he any madness left, he probably would have just raised the gun and pulled the trigger

Immediately her brows lowered to a glare, she had her eyes on his pistol for a few moments before raising her poisionous sights to his. She knew there had been a mistunderstanding, but she wasn't going to go about explaining it to someone who would be pointing a gun at her. She wasn't concerned on her life...there would be others to replace her in her family, and it wasn't like anyone was losing her to some important task. If she died doing what she loved, even in thr course of helping this ungreatful b*****d...then it was not a life in vain afterall.
"Even if I have, you continue to keep walking far past where I stand. Yes, I insult you - and did so there too. It was no ill on your wife, however you decided to interpret it as such and that is not my problem." A growl escalated in her throat, she should have let him bled, and starve, and riddle his body with infections! Yet that was not here or now.
"However, Dutch, don't mix me up with her if thats what you've been doing....because I am not...even if she is like me as you said." She sneered his name with an utmost vile tone. If he had grievances with her and had been taking it out on her just because they acted the same, well....then she really was going to be pissed. Last thing she wanted to be was a sore reminder of someone lost.

Again, he had nothing to say. Not because he couldn't find a flaw in her words, or because he didn't feel like arguing, but rather something in the back of his mind just told him to relax. Was it the spirit of his wife, although being feisty like this Spartan was, she was also compassionate and understanding? Or was it that little voice in the back of his head just now getting off it's lazy butt and decided that this was an irrational action, and not jumping out of a ship some thousands of miles up. Whatever the case, he lowered his gun and re-holstered it.
He didn't give her so much as any kind of look before walking over to grab the ODST styled helmet. Again, he carefully slide the black bullet resistant helmet on his head and let it rest as it was meant to. Activating the black opaque sun visor, he glanced back over before shaking his head and limping off from where they arrived.

---------------------------- Four days later.
She hadn't even stuck around long enough to watch him go, the frustration of the whole situation had plucked at her newly fined strings and broke the damn thing. Confined to the house to relax and wind back down to a state where she could be pleasant once more. However this time...she was not alone when she left the house hours ago and was now walking down a familliar path with her mother.
"I told you, Mom...I could have done this myself." Nariko walked alongside the short Geisha; carrying a basket of different fruits and vegetables found on their walk.
"Come now...My Nariko...what's the point of spending time with your mom if she's not even there." A smiled pointedly to her daughter, her movements as graceful as a goddess and meanwhile Nariko was obviously acting different to try and mirror such. "Besides, you have been so stressed lately, I worry about your well being out here by yourself."
If only I had been alone.... Nariko thougt, her gaze lingering on the surrounding woods.

4 days had past since he seemingly left the Spartan Standing there and ever since then he had waited in his little encampment for his injury to heal. After the third day, he felt well enough to tie his boot up fully, and take off into the wilderness, still desperately seeking any sign that his squadmates made it to this hell hole, with no luck at all.
On this day, he found himself tracking boot foot prints of what he hoped was not another Spartan. He was constantly being fooled by their foot prints versus the ones he was trying to look at. The only thing that puzzled him was that there were another set of tracks along with the set he followed. Granted they were faint into the damp path, but he was able to see them, barely.
"I swear to god if this is another spartan, I'm shooting myself in the head." he muttered to himself, half tempted to follow his idea. Little did he know that he was tracking half an hour or so behind A Spartan and her mother

"This looks like a good enough spot. How about here?" Koyuki looked up to her daughter, seeing her distracted gaze and turned off the trail and onto the small clearing. Walking towards a fallen tree she sat down and motioned Nariko to sit with her which she did without question. The pair sat for a few moments in silence, before Koyuki chimed up.
"Listen, my daughter. You have come home far too angry in the past few weeks than I had ever seen in your entire life. I know Bryyo has not been with you....so what has been happening out here?" She knew her daughter was antisocial, which would have explained frustration....but was she not doing well in her training? Placing a delicate paw on her knee, she watched eagerly with those tender brown orbs; hoping she would open up.
As much as Nariko really didn't want to talk about it, the vixen set the basket on her lap and held on tight to the handle as her gaze fell. "Well....Okaasan....there is this...guy."
"A guy!" Koyuki's face beamed with impish innocence only she could pull off. "Oh my darling, males are nothing to get so worked up about - "
"But HE is! He's....UGH! I've never met someone as infuriating, he's loud, and thick headed, and doesn't know when to stand down or give in even a little bit..." Nariko huffed and glared at a patch of grass, pretty sure that it would burst into flames.
"Really now.....he sounds a lot like you, My Nariko." Koyuki smiled, flicking her ears to catch the sounds arround them. "Have you tried to do what you desire him to?"
"....No...." The vixen tossed her glance elsewhere, not good with these heart to heart girl talks in the slightest.

Scanning the prints and occasionally looking up, he started to pick up faint voices. Was he in fact getting closer? He paused and remained motionless, listening to the voices ahead. Both where women. Only woman he remembered that was even remotely close to the team was......he shuddered at the thought of seeing Dare again. "Maybe I should turn back.." he muttered feeling slightly discouraged. He stared in the direction he heard the voices and pondered only for a few seconds before sighing. "If it is that Spook, then maybe she could tell me what happened to the others.....if of course it's not classified by now" he growled softly.
He pressed on, starting to see the prints become fresher and fresher and the voices become louder and louder. They must have stopped he thought as he was just only a few yards from them.
He looked down to see the prints all but stop. Looking back up he twisted his head to the right, seeing nothing but the forest. He twisted his head to the left and saw........"You've GOT to be kidding." he said in complete astonishment. At first, all he saw was the Spartan armor. Tempted to turn away, he thought maybe the second female would be Dare, so he waded through the brush to the small clearing and about had a heart attack when he saw Nariko.....again.
"OH MY F***ING GOD!! NOT YOU AGAIN!!" he yelled out of frustration, completely ignoring the second vixen in his prescence

"See, how can you ask so much of someone if you are not willing to give the same respect my daughter. Perhaps all you need is initiative, and things could turn around for you. Afterall, there is strength in those who are similar, somewhat like it is for those who are opposite." Koyuki smiled and patted her knee, sensing through motherly instincts that there might have been something else going on; for it wasn't like her daughter to stick to something which bothered her this much.
"Its complicated mother...he's......" Snapping her head up to the sound of the voice and the intrusion to their private moment; her face mimicked the look of horror and disbelief at who came waltzing in. "DUTCH!?" Immediately she leaped up, ready to start her barrage on respect of space and perhaps accusations that he was some derranged stalker when something she didn't expect happened.
Filled with impish glee, Koyuki stood and put a hand on her daughter's shoulder; immediately stopping the incoming battle before she even got another word out. Delicately walking over to the large ODST, she stopped about a foot away...once again so small in comparison.
"You must be Dutch....." She bowed politely, keeping her gaze intent on him the whole time...despite her soft tone; her voice was a bit louder than it usually was - knowing she could be easily muted by the two. "As it seems you are aquainted with Nariko, it leaves just my introduction. I am Koyuki...her mother." She beamed, turning to look back to her daughter with purpose in her eyes unseen unless looking for it.
"Nariko....do you have something you'd like to say to Dutch, here?" Of course, she meant her not so proper greeting; to which she crossed her arms defiantly and looked away. "Hello....Dutch. How's the foot...."

The ODST swore his mouth dropped to the ground. How on earth was this possible..it couldn't be coincidence, but just as he was about to ask generally the same thing, his attention was forcefully focused on the much smaller female. To his disappointment, it wasn't Dare. Still he was in for a shock regardless.
When he heard the introduction of Koyuki, and how she was Nariko's mother, he felt his knees buckled and he fell to the ground, momentarily stunned that something like the spartan was capable of coming from such a small person. Not to mention the considerable difference in attitude.
He caught himself before he hit the ground too hard and tried to stand back up. "I'm sorry...but..maybe this helmet is blocking my ears. You said..'Mother' right?" he was in obvious disbelief as he turned the opaqueness of his helmet off, he was even more rugged looking than a few days before. He ignored the Spartan at the time. He was to amazed by this.......event...

It was perhaps a good think she was ignored, because at the stumbling of Dutch and his words, all Nariko do was face palm and shake her head at the sorry ODST before her and her mother.
Looking confused for a moment, she looked back to Nariko for a moment or two before looking back to Dutch. "Are you alright, Dutch...?" She asked in genuine concern, watching as he managed to pick himself back up.
"Yes....I am her mother, as well as her twin brother Bryyo; yet I don't believe you've met him from his lack of telling me anything." And of course, Bryyo was very reliable for letting her in on anything 'noteworthy' of Nariko's life...which usually was fights. "You do not need to be formal and keep it on if it is effecting your hearing..." Poor thing, he did look worse for wear....had he been out here all alone when he tracked them down? She could tell by the same ruggedness from her mates face that he too was in a similar trade; but couldn't recognize the armor. It was a weird question to ask, since she thought Nariko looked like her, but of course had the strength of her father which Koyuki was so very proud of.

He couldn't help but glance over at the Spartan and form a glare "Twin brother as well. Bet he's nicer than you" he commented snidely before returning his attention to the kimono dressed Koyuki.
"Ah. Well a pleasure to make your acquaintance then." he said dully. It wasn't that he was showing no interest, but he was thoroughly disappointed in still having no luck on finding his team...especially after 24 hours of nonstop searching.
"If you'll excuse me for a moment" he said courteously to the motherly vixen, but only shot a glare to Nariko as he moved away from the bush, trying quietly to keep his outraged frustration and cursing as quiet as possible, which he succeeded in...mostly.

Looking up through her fingers she shot the glare right back, Nariko seethed at the thought of just how rude he was being; even though her mother seemed not to mind at all. She would have made a comment that her brother wasn't as useless as he was at least...but knew she would end up getting scolded by her mother.
"Of course..." Koyuki politely stepped out of the way of the ODST as he returned to the trail for a moment...although she had a hunch that he might try and sneak off. Normally she didn't like to meddle in her children's lives, despite her distaste for her son's womanizing and her daughter's brash anger....she loved them dearly. She could see why her daughter was so upset with Dutch, since it was akin to fighting against yourself. The faults they shared in commom must be a constant view for them both to see.
She knew neither would make a move at this rate, so she followed behind Dutch and reached up to pat his shoulder softly. "Excuse my forwardness....but I can't help but notice you look famished. Please....only my daughter and I will be home tonight and we have picked more than the two of us can eat alone; It would give me great honour if you would come for dinner." The vixen's tail swayed slowly behind her, giving that look of hope that he would agree.
He just had to, even though she knew it would put her daughter on the spot that would make her uncomfortable - yet if her hunch was right she needed to have her guard thrown off to learn something here. "What do you say, Dutch?"
