I just sent out a formal PM to each of the applicants for this room asking them if they are still interested. I've seen Roses and Our (I guess that's what you call her) around, but I haven't heard from Rains. I'm excited about getting co-hosts in here. Our room needs a jump start! whee Hopefully, some of our future co-hosts will be artists.

Hello to all!
Nice to meet everyone! biggrin
I'm The Inglorious Flutist, and thank you for letting me participate in the Sloth room. It should be fun getting to work with you guys. <3
As far as fundraising goes--Chibi was asking me about being an artist, though I'm not much of one. I do know a few Gaians [who are amazzzing artists] that may be able to contribute though, if you'd like me to ask them.

I'll probably be organizing the art auction, since I'm already organizing one for Wrath, even though I'm not really working for this room. Unless someone else really wants to organize it.
If you could contact those people and send them to me, that would be great!!! I'd also love if you could contribute too. Anyone is welcome heart heart heart
Is it official that I'm running the art auction for Sloth? I think I'd need to know soon, since Midterms are coming up for me...

Midterms? Ahh, such a [not] wonderful thing!
Our finals were today. Hopefully, everyone passed.
By the way, I was just wondering-- who do I send the funds to if I happen to raise any? I've been giving out a few freebies in the AF, and I've recieved some gold that I don't really need a.t.m.

I would rather wait about staring the fundraising until after Christmas. I'm currently working a temp job at a printing company, and I work 12 hours a day sorting and boxing Christmas cards 6 days a week. So, by the time I get home, I don't really have much time to do anything. But, like I said, this is only a temp job, so I should have time to deal with that stuff later. Right now, I just want to focus on getting some co-hosts in here.
Congratulations, Flutist! You're hired! You are now our first co-host! biggrin Now, we just have to wait on the others to respond.

Chibi, you've done more for this room in a couple of days than I ever did in the past few months. You're amazing...and I am lazy. XD
Anyway....so we have our first co-host, awesome!
As for the art auction, I agree with Chibi; let's wait until after Christmas. For now, I would rather come up with all of our fundraising ideas, because we definitely need solid ones that work for us.

Who are the characters?
How goofy should I be?
I am going to try to save space for other rooms to interact with us if they want, and there is going to be a volleyball game. So yeah, this is gonna happen.

And that sounds fine-- I should have more time after Christmas as well. We have a three week break, so it shouldn't be a problem.
Hmm, fundraising...
A drawing, perhaps? For what, I'm not sure.
But we could probably charge 2k-5k per ticket.

Thanks! You're making me blush! ^///^ @Moo - It seems as though all of the rooms have VERY different set-ups for how the Seven Deadly sins are going to operate. Without a doubt, most of the current plot that each room has set up will have to be scrapped, so I say that we should wait for the main plot before we even think about making characters. @Flutist - The trick is going to be finding something good enough to raffle to be able to get people to buy enough tickets to enough break even. If it is an art raffle, then we don't have to lose any gold in an attempt to make gold. I can make simple signs and banners so maybe I can sell that. Post a sample of your work sometime. And, as an absolute last resort, I can always buy a cash card and do a bit of marketplace investing to get the gold for the room. It almost seems like an easier idea to just do that, and not worry about the fundraising. rofl

Yeah, I was going to ninja into the other rooms to gather ideas, but then I started looking up mythology stuff and realized there is no one entity that is sloth personified. This is going to be a toughy.

I know of some old personifications of Sloth from The Divine Comedy and from The Vision of Piers Plowman. They are both very old, and influential classics, so they should provide good models for us to work with. Of course, we can always scrap the old models and create something fun and new if you want. 3nodding

I was looking through some mythology stuff today when I came upon this--
" Aergia; a goddess in Greek mythology, a personification of sloth and laziness. She is the daughter of Aether and Gaia. She is said to guard the court of Hypnos in the Underworld. Aergia is simply the transliteration of Latin Socordia or Ignavia. She was transliterated to Greek because Hyginus mentioned her based on a Greek source, and thus can be considered as both a Greek and Roman goddess. Her opposite character is Horme, a goddess of effort."
