"I agree with everything you said" he said, not actually knowing how to read but did believe books held a world of information and then some "I have always thought the same thing" he said, muttering under his breath 'if I could actually read them' before carrying on, deciding to tease her a little, playfully of course "though with christmas coming up it may seem I need a new christmas present for you, I was going to get you a library card but I think guess given your home, thats out of the question now" he said smiling at her, playful glint in his eye.

It took her longer than it really should have to realize he was kidding, she had been about to say they hardly knew each other so why would he give her a gift, and then mention fixing her house was gift enough but he had been kidding so she just smiled "Maybe you could make library cards for people to come into my library once my place is fixed up." She joked back seriously hoping he didn't take her seriously, strangers borrowing her books was the last thing she wanted, she couldn't bear to think about it, but it was the only thing she could think of to say in response.

Onyx chuckled a little "oh, yes, i can see that going down well, you will be having a heart attack with every book that went out" he said grinning at her "come, lets go see Vincent, we can talk on the way" he said as gestured to her to come with him.

"Yeah you're right" she smiled, glad he wasn't about to actually go through with it. She stood up ready to follow him, she was getting excited to know if Vincent would actually fix her place, she wondered how it would look when finished, how her books would look in it. "I'm getting excited." Her tails wagged in emphasis.

"It won't be long now" he said as they started towards his place, arriving about twenty minutes later, walking up the path he still loved seeing the old house, it was a beautiful old victorian estate and every time he visited he wanted to explore it but knew better to, upon arriving on the door step he scratched at the door.
Vincent was inside reading Frankenstein when he head the scratch at the door, getting up he walked out of his library and over to the front door and opened it "Onyx, hi...wait, what have you done now? You haven't impregnated her have you?" He asked curiously, Onyx never visited him unless he did something wrong, his fault or not.
Onyx blushed a little and shook his head, grabbing his top he pulled on him to come with him.
"Do I really have to?" He asked, pouting a little, he had just gotten up to the part of the book where Dr Frankenstein was about to bring his monster to life, sure he knew what happened but still, he was enjoying just reading the book and having a nice day at home.
Onyx urged yet again for him to follow.
"Alright, alright, I will come" he said as he smiled at the other "and hi, I'm Vincent" he said as he patted her head "just let me get my bag and cellphone" he said as he went inside "come in" he said as he left the door open for them to enter.
Onyx entered and looked around, every time he came here he was in awe, this place was beautiful with its original fixtures and what not "since you care a little more about the books then this place, the library is over there" he said as he pointed to the door at the back of the reception area where there was a fire place and the door to the library was on the right "large old fashioned library, fire place, old fashioned writing desk and an old victorian sofa, go have a look" he said smiling at her.

Makoto looked from Vincent to Onyx and back again, did he impregnate females often? Was he going to try to get 'payment' for fixing up her house? ... Well she suppose it could be worse... This humans house was quite lovely and he seemed quite nice himself. She smiled at him before happily trotting over to the library as indicated by Onyx. Once at the threshold she paused in awe and wonder, this was what she wanted her house to be like, this was perfect. She made her was slowly around the room taking everything in, getting up on her hind legs to examine some of the books, lightly caressing their spines with her paw, it was warm and inviting in here and so rich, so rich with possibilities and knowledge, she wanted this, this right here, her whole house. "this is wonderful. Perfect." Her eyes went everywhere, she hardly breathed.

Onyx had followed and jumped up onto the sofa and laid down, watching the other and smiling a little "thought you would like it" he said looking at the floor to ceiling book cases, in his opinion he had way too much, sure, if you can spend the day reading them all like his new friend could then that is one thing but with the way Vincent complains about having no time to read them it seems a little pointless having so many but he also knew that Vincent would hate not having a library so here they will stay.

"Caldwell, Dulac, Emerson, Fleming..." She went around the room reading the names of the authors, she was in heaven she had never heard of some of these books and she itched to read them, why wasn't her human this well versed in books? Why couldn't she have such a room, such a collection as this human did? "You are so lucky." her voice hushed in awe. "How many of these have you read?" She turned her attention back to him and walked over to the sofa he was on looking at the room from there.

Now, Onyx COULD pass himself off as the notable reader as he has been making himself out to be thus far or he could just just tell her the truth...for once and so he decided to tell her the truth...sort of "none, I don't come here often, as Vincent said, I only come here if I have done something wrong and need to get away from the world for a bit so whilst I have been here I have really just explored this place little by little. This the house is three stories with, apparently, several secret passages and a couple of secret rooms, or so the diaries he has of the place" he said, not going to tell her that it was Vincent who said this about the passage ways and secret rooms since, ya know, he couldn't read the notes on the house "so I have been a little more preoccupied with finding them then reading" wow, for once, he actually told the truth, who would of thought he had it in him.

She guessed she could buy that, maybe he had his own books at home or maybe he didn't want these books to be ruined by the sea air or... she didn't know, but maybe. "Did the diaries give any hints as to where they might be?" She enjoyed solving puzzles and maybe she could help repay the favor of fixing her place by finding the secret passages

"No, they didn't, just that the original owner enjoyed running through them and playing in them and even had one of the secret rooms as a small cubby house sort of thing when she was a little girl but that is as much as we got out of that one and the diary of her father and mother just mentioned the passage ways and secret rooms that their daughter loved, they had explored them and they seemed harmless but other then that they haven't said anything." Onyx said as he walked around to the normal yet old fashioned desk and pulled one of the drawers open and carefully took the four thick diaries out of the draw with his teeth and placed them on the desk "these are the diaries, we found them in the attic" he said, would of told her to be careful with them but he knew better then to think she wouldn't be.

Makoto opened one of the diaries carefully quickly scanning over the pages before turning to the next, she had gone through the first book within a few minutes, speed reading had its uses, but he was right it didn't seem to mention a place to start looking. Why were there four though? Mother, father, and daughter... there should only be three, who's was the fourth? She opened the next one looking for a possible name written in the cover but she couldn't find one. "Who's is the fourth one?" She started to read hoping the contents would tell her

"What I could tell" or what Vincent could tell that is "is that it was another childs, the writing is not as messy as what a childs scrawl is but it was still not as sophisticated as what an adults would of been, I am thinking maybe a ten or twelve year olds, it is neat and tidy to an extent but the script is not as nice but theres no use of 'mother' or 'father' or even 'aunt' or 'uncle' and 'I' haven't been even able to find the proper use of Mr or Miss or Mrs in there but there is one name that keeps being used over and over again" he said as he turned the pages of the diary carefully and opened it to an entry that was dated June 1st 1840l "look here" he said as he pointed to the entry "he mentions a girl named Constance, I don't know if that was the daughters name of the mother and father or not as her name isn't ever spoken as she is just mentioned as 'our darling little girl' or a nickname which was 'Sunny' due to her apparently always smiling and having such a beautiful smile etc, I don't know if this house holds any other secrets on this family but apparently they were the first owners, the parents last name is on this" he said as he carefully and very gently took out the deed too the house and some land from the drawer. "This is the deed to the house and some of the land but the land has been sold on since the day this house was made and the original owners lived here but the house still remains obviously, I guess the surrounding land was sold but not the land the house sat on so the house got to stay" he said, having heard all this from Vincent, he may not be able to read but he did have a good memory at remembering things so thankfully he could recall what Vincent said to him the day they found these things in the attic.

"Hmmm facinating. I'd love to search with you some time, I always enjoy a good puzzle." She turned to him since he seemed to have given her all the pertinent information from the diaries. "I know many old buildings had hidden servant passages so that they could do their work without being seen. Perhaps those are the passages mentioned?" If so they could connect every room in the house, and the secret room would be the servants quarters. Perhaps the best place to start was the library, so many places speak of secret passages in the library. She walked around the room again taking it's measure looking for any hints of something hidden

"I would love that and I am not sure, I like reading and all buuut I am also a paws on kind of guy more, unless I need to read I don't, besides, from what I can tell theres nothing really that mention them but then maybe we are looking in the wrong place? We just found these in the attic so maybe there is a diary or something we could have possibly over looked in there? We just went through one box but there are a couple of old trunks and other boxes and things up there that Vincent just hasn't had the time to check out" he said, knowing Vincent did want to check out those things but it was a big job so he hasn't gotten around to it yet.
