There was a moment where there might have been a spark, a chance that Avari would keep on the strikes at this point. But he faltered as he tried to get back to his feet, falling to one knee in a bit of a daze.
The crowd cheered both men on, and something was happening in the Champion's brain. He wasn't just doing this for himself, he was doing it for each and every person here who came to see them fight it out.
Fusion slowly and surely got to his feet.

the lull in response time gives Drako a moment to right himself. Well, if throwing bombs is the name of the game, the Soaring Dragon is up for it, as he steps forward and aims a stiff Knife edged chop across Avari's chest

The sound was sickening as the chop lit up Avari's chest, leaving it almost instantly pink.
He gritted his teeth and clutched his chest, before he fired back a return chop!

a return chop lands and Drako lets out a slight hiss of pain, the slightest red tinge coming across his chest. Bombs away, as Drako fires back by throwing a stiff right hand aimed for the side of Avari's head

Avari seems to suddenly come to, as he brings up his forearm to block the right hand of Drako!
Could this be where everything turns around?
Fusion aims a series of chops and strikes in return!

Drako's strike is blocked and moments later the flurry of strikes drives him back bit to bit until his back is against the ropes and he's forced to cover up to shield himself

The Champ pauses for a moment to grit his teeth and try to block out the pain coursing through his body, but he knows he cannot relent.
Fusion looks to catch Damone with an uppercut, followed by an Irish Whip across the ring!

Drako is clocked with the uppercut and whipped across the ring. Hitting the ropes, he rebounds back and leaps up, attempting to snap off a quick hurricarana

Drako leaps up for the hurricanara and .. Avari catches him mid-move and stays steady!
He looks to shift both their weight and follow up with a hard powerbomb-into-pinfall!

there's a reason they call these moves high risk, and Drako gets an unpleasant reminder as he's caught and dropped to the mat courtesy of a powerbomb, right into a pin.
one...two...th...
Drako kicks out, rolling to the side to get his shoulder completely off the mat and avoid the three count

Avari laid back on the mat at the two count, breathing in deep breaths and taking in as much oxygen as his lungs would allow. This was a marathon of a match, one for the ages, and it clearly wasn't going to stop with that.
Both men were sore, aching, and fatigued - but neither would stop until someone got the win.
Avari slowly moved his body away from Drako in a sideways rolling motion, and moving himself onto his knees. He looked over at his opponent, scouting, analyzing, watching to see if there were any weaknesses.

Drako starts rolling a bit more to try to push himself up to his knees as well. That certainly hadn't been a soft landing, especially after he'd spent quite a bit of time in this match throwing his entire body at Avari. Now the hard part is getting back to his feet

Avari waited and timed getting to his feet, so that he was one 'step' in front of Drako.
He would wait until Damone was on his knees, before rushing at him for a shining wizard attempt!

Drako hadn't gotten up fast enough, and sure enough, he's about to pay for it. Just making it to his knees, all too suddenly he's clocked with a shining wizard, knocking him flat on his back again

Fusion rolled with the move, and to his knees. He looked down at Drako, and knew a pinfall would bring him close here.
Instead, he clambered to his feet and ran at the ropes, attempting a lionsault!
