The Gundam F91. For one thing it's smaller than all previous Gundams, with the exception of the Victory Gundam. Smaller means lower signature meaning it's a harder target to hit. As if it's small size wasn't bad enough it can also dissipate excess heat via the Metal Peel-off Effect. This creates after images that have mass creating a shadow imager effect, creating multiple targets to draw fire away from the F91. And it's generator can drive multiple beam weapon of which it's twin VSBR Variable Speed Beam Rifles can be set for high velocity beams for penetrating power or low velocity beams for maximum damage. The high velocity beams can break beam shields with appauling ease. In the hands of a Newtype the F91 can use it's full potential. Mundanes can still make use of most of it's capabilites. It's the first Gundam to go into mass production. Then there are the Gundams created after the F91, the Crossbone Gundams X-1, X-2 and X-3. I'm partial towards Zabine's X-2 Oh and mundanes, I mean non-newtypes. Sorry for borrowing a term from Babylon 5 for non-telepaths, but it seems to fit.

Anywho, F91, I believe, is not the first mass production Gundam. Have we forgoten MkII?

I was commenting on Zabine's machine, Zabine sides with Seabook in the manga Crossbone Gundam. In F91 they never got to face off against each other. And I'll have to go with Ophiuchus, I wasn't aware there were that many RX-79[G] on the field. There were only handful of them including the 08th MS teams, I'm not sure who the others were. The 6th team had GM[G]s I think. And was the Mk II really mass produced? I think there were only 2 of them. And it doesn't matter, the F91 is more advanced than either one. The only Gundams more advanced than the F91 is the Victory Gundam and Turn A Gundam.

Also, the V2 has no issues with beam shields on a battleship scale, even. Finally, we all know the best technology in F91 is infact, beam flags: ninja

I never saw the point in beam flags...
and for the record, >20 79[G] Gundams were constructed.
