 Saix stared at the picture. It was ghastly. Looked nothing like him. And was it...it was...it was drawn in crayon. Urgh...it was terrible. An artist Demyx most certainly was NOT. But...putting quality aside, it was a nice gesture. So that's what Saix decided to focus on. "It's...nice. Thank you I suppose."

Demyx's tail swished around happily, the little blonde shoving the picture into Saix's paws before backing away a bit. It surprised him to hear Saix say thank you, but it just made him even more eager to help the berserker in any way possible.
"I just want you to know...you'll get them back Saix, I know you will. You're really strong, and if anyone could do it, you could."
He was, of course, talking about Saix's emotions. He had to wonder what it'd be like to be around a Saix with full range of emotions, but he supposed he'd find that out when the time came.

Saix sighed. "You could be right Demyx, you could be wrong. But I appreciate the blind faith you seem to have for some...odd reason. Even with the way I've treated you..." He grumbled the last bit forcing it out trying not to snap Demyx like a twig afterwards.
Saix gave Nahira a look, some would call it a 'save me' look...but for Saix it was more of a 'what the hell do I do now?!' look.

Nahira liked how this was going, In a way she was trying to back Saix into a corner... yes this coversation might be forced, but this would help him later on with his people skills. He needed to learn that some things are better left unsaid. She also thought Demyx needed to see saix's true side.
Almost on command as she was given the look the female used her right arm to shove herself away from the tree. Sauntaring towards them she placed a paw on each of their shoulders, and leaned on them a little. She honestly wondered howd theyd react to this.
"Sooo. Now that you two are all buddy buddy, What would you all like to do?" Her twin tailed swayed behind her, the bells on them jingling every once and a while.

"It's okay...really! You just..erm..made me stronger in your own way!"
Demyx nodded, trying to assure Saix that despite how much it hurt, he was actually grateful for the rather violent shoves he had given him through life.
"I'm..trying really hard to be stronger...and if you wouldn't mind I'd erm...someday...like to learn from you?"
The blonde fidgeted a bit, eyeing Saix nervously. He half expected the berserker to lash out at him at any moment. So focused on avoiding any potential strikes from Saix, Nahira's sudden presence on his shoulder made the sitarist jump.
"Do? I ...er...I dunno?..."

It was about this time that Saix realized he wasn't wearing his coat. Picking it up and throwing it at Demyx he raised an eyebrow. "I'll train you someday...maybe. If you're lucky. But do me a favor and clean off that coat, til now we have been using it as a bandage for Nahira. Now if you'll excuse me for a moment..." Saix went over to Nahira and grabbed her wrist lightly but firmly. "I must speak with Freckles here in private for a moment, don't move from this spot Demyx, understand?" Dragging her off by her hand far enough away from Demyx's ear shot he let go of Nahira and gave a long sigh. "What the hell was that? Are you trying to kill me? That quite possibly could have the worst thing that has EVER happened to me! I don't know what the hell to say to that kid!" Rubbing his temples he gave another sigh. "Couldn't we have done something easier first?! Like, I don't know...ANYTHING!? What if I said something wrong?! That boy over there is like a faucet, he crys over everything, hell, if a bug lands on him he'll just freak out! I'm not GOOD with Demyx! He's just...everything hurts him so easily. Then again, everything makes him happy just as easy. But seeing my track record, I'm more of the hurt side of things here." His hands started twitching. "But...just...well things have gone good so far, but I can't say that they will stay this way. I'm no good at this Nahira, I told you before, I don't know what to DO!"
He growled a bit. "This is all just...and you are...and...argh!" He put his hands on Nahira's arms, just below her shoulders. "You have to be the most aggervating person I have ever met that I can remember, you're driving me crazy! Hell, I think you're out of your f--king mind!" He moved closer to her. Pressing his nose against hers. "And if you ever leave I think I'd die. I don't know why. I haven't been doing this whole...feeling thing very long. But as of now, you can't leave, alright? Just don't leave..." Saix realized how close he was to Nahira now, if he was anyone else he probably would have backed off, but Saix was an unflinching person, so he stayed right there, waiting for her responce. "Well?"

She couldnt help but snicker softly as her touch scared Demyx. So he is a spazz.... she thought. She was about ready to open her mouth and say something, when saix seemed to take control of the moment. She was at first sensing a hostile situation about to break out, but she sensed wrong.
Saix's paw clapped around her wrist next, right before she felt herself being dragged off. At first she was a little worried, but after a few seconds he didnt have to 'drag' her. She came walking on her own two feet. There was a placid silence as they strode away from Demyx.
She listened to his ranting before speaking up when he seemed to finish. "Kill you? No. Help you? Yes. Are not you the one whom told me strait to my face that you wished to change? And that your TIRED of waiting? Well guess what hun, i gave you a push. You didnt want to wait... and you seemed lost. So i helped as you asked me to. You didnt wish to be patient, so i didnt start out with something easy. Once upon a time ago i told you that the only way you will gain the knowledge of what your sposed to do, comes from experiance. Am i right?" She didnt wait for his answer. "Then how are you supposed to gain experiance if you AVOID everyone?"
Nahira let the question hang for a few. Then she heard he speak again. She admitted she was a bit surprised as he clasped her shoulders base. Was he going topush her away? No... he wasnt clasping hard enough to hurt her.
He.. thought she was crazy? Oh well.... whats the big deal... heh, everyone thought she was. Hell, she didnt have many friends. As a pup she was ignored, so she learned to just hide inside the shadows. And those shadows is wence-forth where the lived... and grew. Until she became too large to fit under that couch anymore. Thats when she started to move around and wander, usually at night with the moon.
She thought for sure after what he said, he would leave. Leave her as the others did. Surprise hit her features as he pressed his nose against hers and pulled close to her. She listened.
Quiet, followed the question. The surprise that was on her face was whiped away and was replaced with her normal one. Lifting her arms she placed her hands on his arms, her nose still against his. She pulled away his arms from her shoulders until he let go. The next part was a bit of a blurr, she turned her face away for a second, there noses broke apart. Using her arms she pulled him forward and wrapped her arms around his torso. She then placed her head on his shoulder near his neck. The scent of his hair filled her nostrils. She didnt care right now if he pushed her away, she wouldnt let go. "I wont leave you... but, only if you promise not to leave either."
She stood there for a few moments... not sure how he would react. A small smirk formed to her face, she hated tence moments. "Lesson two.... this is what you call a 'hug'. Or if you wish to be technical,'To clasp or hold closely, as in affection; embrace.'"

Demyx blinked as he was handed the coat, the sitarist handling the article of clothing as if it was some precious object.
"I'll clean it up for you sir! And I won't move from this spot, promise!"
He watched them move away a moment before setting about the task given to him. Despite a lack of soap, Demyx was sure he could easily clean off Saix's coat for him. The blonde plopped on the ground, setting the coat gently in his lap. That finished, he quickly summoned up a water bubble and began cleaning it.

When she pulled away Saix felt that all too familiar feeling again. She was going to walk away, then say something that would make him explode at her and then everything would be ruined again.
Then something happened. Saix was frozen, for once in his life he was at a loss of what to do. Even with the unfamiliar situation of being 'nice' to Demyx he came up with something. But this...he had nothing. Then Nahira spoke again. Almost as if someone had taken the world off of Atlus' shoulders, Saix sighed in relief. Wrapping his arms around her, being careful not to hurt her wound, he nuzzled lightly against her hair. Resting his head on hers slightly.
Of course this golden moment of 'nothing needs to be said' was broken by Nahira's unending wit. "I know what a hug is, smartass." He paused. "Though...I don't ever remember getting one...especially not one like this." God, what Saix wouldn't do for more at this moment. He was alone with someone who at this point revealed that she completely understood him.
He pondered for a moment. Dammit...Demyx was back where they had been. Knowing the little freak he would start yelling about some worm crawling up his nose any minute now. But, it wasn't fair, Saix finally felt what Demyx had always boasted about, how could he let this feeling go? It wasn't fair that it had to end.
Saix pulled his head away from Nahira and loosened his embrase. He tilted his head a bit, still looking at her. "Have to make this last just a bit longer...hope you don't mind." He said this quickly, not giving her time to give an answer to his rhetorical question and pressed his lips to hers, once again embrasing her as he had before, he had closed his eyes and just lingered in this moment. Wishing something would freeze time, just for a while, to make it last longer then he knew it would. He pulled away from he slightly with a slight smile. "Lesson three...that would be a 'kiss' my dear. Or, if you want to be technical, and I know I do, 'the act of caressing with the lips, as an expression of affection, greeting, respect, or amorousness.'"
Why he said it like that? Saix just wasn't one to be out done. Especially in actions and more especially in being a complete smartass in every way possible. "Now...we should get back to Demyx before he does something stupid and rolls around in some poison ivy." Oh God...knowing Demyx, poison ivy was probably the least of his worries. Demyx could be snorting worms up his nose...or licking trees to try and taste the sap and get stuck to the tree like glue, or find a bees nest and think it's some sort of hat. "s**t, that kid is probably lighting water on fire by now. And as impossible as it sounds, if there were any dumbass to figure out how you could do it, it's -that- dumbass!"
Grabbing her hand this time he looked at her. "Lets go, alright?" This time, instead of hauling her off he was asking her permission. He felt at this point...it was the the right thing to do. Wait...Saix...was thinking about what was right? Aw hell, between Demyx's crayons and Nahira's.........well...more intemate approach, Saix was getting more emotional by the minute. He thought to himself 'No matter what happens, I will always be me. I will be myself. ...just better.' There was a pause in his mind. 'Bah! Like that could ever happen. Better my a**, if I could improve, I would have long ago.' Aparently, through all this, Saix's ego was still intact. He seemed far too proud of that for some reason.((Edit: xD And once again the post length record returns to me! PWN!))

The day Nahira looses her wit, is the day that we all wonder wtf happened in the world. She was one to express herself with words, and with actions. She admited sometimes she had the uncanny ability of not being able to hold back when talking.... its gotten her in quite a few mishaps in her past.
She wasnt one to admit it... but Nahira was also one like saix. Maybe this was why she understood him so much. They both had hard pasts, but they both also helped each other to grow in their futures. See, she closed off certain emotions when she was very young. Being pretty much shunned... except from a few select others, her heart grew cold. Slowly it started to warm as she aged, but it still wasnt fully recovered. As saix wrapped his arms around her as well she felt a peice of her heart ache, aching from the freedom of a portion of it. Yes, as nahira said, the Rhetorical heart wasnt one where the emotions lay... but it is the one usually used to explain certain emotions.
A purr emerged from her throat as he rested his head against hers. She snickered at the comment of her being a smartass, duh. She just opened up part of her heart to someone she cared about yes, but that doesnt mean she's changed her personality entirely.
Mind? Why would she mind? As he embraced her again with the kiss she too closed her eyes. The moment to her was one where time had indeed stopped all around, for that brief moment everything around them didnt matter.
"Now who's being the smartass?" Nahira said kidding as the duo broke apart. Her face seemed slightly red, Gasp... could the natorious Nahira actually be -blushing?- Naw.. She'd never admit it. Its just a small fever from her wound! Yes yes, thats what it is. Thing thing is nahira dear... you dont get fevers from wounds.
"Really? He did seem to be a real spazz as you said, but i honestly couldnt see him doing something as that...." She paused. "Then again..." Would he walk up to some random forest creature and try to keep it as a pet, only to find that it was a badger? Will we find the Sitarist Slumped on the ground somewhere?.... "Yeah lets go." With her new found resolve of Demyx being -that- stupid, they might want to hurry back.
Clasping her hand around his she returned the small smile he gave to her earlier. She started to walk forward this time, but not fast enough to where she was dragging him. The duo neared the area where they left him. "lets see if your guess is true..." She snickered as Demyx could now come into their sights.... if they spotted him >>

In the time they had been gone, Demyx had managed to clean up and dry off Saix's coat. He had laid the article of clothing across a branch, hoping it'd meet the berserker's expectations when he returned.
Now, how to busy himself while the others were gone? Well...leaving Demyx alone could prove to be quite dangerous. He wasn't completely stupid, but he didn't have that much common sense either. Pair that with his seemingly insatiable curiosity and you practically had a ticking timebomb to disaster.
Surely, rubbing two sticks together couldn't be dangerous, right? People on survival shows could try for hours to generate enough heat for fire by this very method. If -experts- couldn't do it right, Demyx wouldn't be able to...or so one would think. So, while the others were gone, Demyx had taken to rubbing two sticks together curiously..
And produced fire, joy!
Thankfully he wasn't as scared of fire as he once was. If that had been the case, the entire forest could have been on fire by now. But being around Axel had cause the water loving one to not only accept, but grow to like fire as well. It, at the very least, reminded him of Axel, whom he had not seen in quite some time. The first few minutes of the flame's life were spent with Demyx staring deep into it, wondering how his friend was doing.
Ears twitched as the other two headed back. Horray! He wouldn't be so lonely anymore, and hey he had accomplished something.
"Sir! Nahira! Look what I made!"
He giggled, holding up the burning branch. Of course, by now, the thing had been burning for quite some time...all the way down to his paw. Seconds later Demyx found himself yelping in pain and dropping the burning branch to the ground. He thankfully had enough sense to extinquish it with a bit of water before clutching his hurt paw to his chest.
Must not cry...must not cry! Saix would call him more names and humiliate him in front of Nahira. Demyx didn't know why, but he felt the need to prove himself to both of them. Being humiliated was certainly not on the top of his list. So, biting his lip, the sitarist struggled to hold back the tears that threatened to flow, paw throbbing in pain the entire time.

Saix just stared. Demyx had proven himself to be as big a dumbass as Saix predicted. But instead of his usual growling and yelling, an uncontrollable smile grew on Saix's face. He couldn't help himself, the sight before him was too good to pass up. He began to snicker, then it grew louder and louder, until Saix was holding his sides in laughter. If someone didn't know better, you'd think he was laughing so hard he was crying. Clutching Nahira's hand he gasped for air. "It hurts! It hurts!" Having never really laughed nearly as much as this before, Saix was caught off guard. "Make it stop, Nahira! Make it stop!" He laughed a while longer before he caught his breath and sighed. "Lord...what the hell was that?"
Breathing hard for a moment, he resumed his cold silence, as if the laughter had never happened. "Demyx, please explain as to why we came back to find you nearly lighting yourself on fire." He had a glare on his face, trying not to remember the sight he had seen before, heaven forbid he start laughing again.

She snorted rather loudly as she saw the expression on Demyx's face. Oh come oh, who couldnt laugh? Yes he burnt his hand.. and more then likely was in pain, but.... the expression is priceless.
Next to her she heard laghter, that steadily grew louder. It seems like Saix was now laughing for the both of them. Though... laughter tended to be contageous, so she herself couldnt help but snicker. "Lesson four. Laughter."
Ha! So demyx's little sharade did some good!
Nahira rolled her eyes next. With her free hand she lightly flicked Saix on one of his ears. "Lesson five, Compassion." She didnt wait for a responce. Instead she walked forward, this time she dragged Saix towards Demyx.
"Let me see your paw." She mused asking the Sitarist.

As the two laughed, Demyx's ears flattened against his head. He so knew that was coming. Humiliated...again.
Still biting his lip, the sitarist turned so he wouldn't have to look at the two. Only then did he allow a few tears to squeeze out, the drops sliding down his face before falling to hit the ground. What he wouldn't give to be able to just run away from all this right now. That was his way of dealing with things he couldn't handle.
But before he could go through with his plan, Nahira had pulled Saix over. Whimpering, he slowly unclutched his paw and held the burnt appendage out for Nahira to see.

Saix gave Nahira a glare. She flicked him? What the hell was that all about?! He was about to flick her back when Nahira started to drag him away.
Oh goody, what was her plan this time? Help the man-child from hurting himself anymore? Near impossible at this point. With all the babying Demyx got from Luxord, Saix was supprized that the sitarist wasn't just a puddle of sap by now.
In Saix's mind however, things were moving too fast. One moment to the next without anything lasting. He was stuck on what had happened with Nahira, and thought nothing much of Demyx at this point, aside from the fact that Demyx had just done something incredibly stupid. Infact, this whole idea was stupid. How was he supposed to learn compassion from this? Oh look, the moron hurt his hand, his own damn fault mind you. Saix finally looked down at Demyx, his face was one of shame. Saix mind chimed in at this moment, in reply to his prior protest. 'Oh...I see...' was all that he said with his internal monologue.
"It's not that bad. Just a singe, it will take a little while to grow back that little patch of fur on your paw though. That's what you get for playing with fire. And whatever you do! Don't put water on the thing! You'll make it burn worse and then it will scar, just...god damn you...stay right there." Saix walked away, sliding his hand away from Nahira's grasp, looking around a bit then plucking a green plant. "Aloe." He threw it at Nahira. "Put it on the kid, don't let him do it himself, he'll probably eat it and then get an upset stomach." With a -fump-, he sat himself on the ground, rolling his eyes. This dumb kid was a hell of a lot more trouble then Saix remembered.
