Cordain

((Just figure that Cordain serves anyone who comes and orders then goes back to training Nekura until I actually return, I really apologize that I won't be able to access gaiaonline from home.))

Location: Border of Falsin Forest and Astora Village
Season: Late Spring
Time: Early morning (before sunrise)
Weather: Slightly cool, humid, dark and cloudy

As the thick forest began to break through, Chiaku peered ahead and suddenly smiled.

"Everyone," she called, obviously relieved, "we've reached home. Welcome back to Astora Village!"

Squeezing Momo's hand gently, the governess strode quickly into the edges of the village. Exhaustion had consumed her body though the remnants of despair had finally abandoned her mind. After a few hours of rest for everyone, she knew that it would be required for the villagers to settle the matter of this disaster, especially in regards to Toshihiko's boy.

DS smiled, letting relief show on her face. "That's fantastic, Chiaku-sama! Hear that, Linnea? We're-" She stopped abruptly.

Linnea, who had gotten tired early on, was clinging tightly to DS's back piggyback style. She had remained awake and alert for much of the journey, mostly out of fear. But her exhaustion had finally taken its toll, and she was fast asleep, her head resting on DS's shoulder.

"I guess we should hurry home then," DS commented softly, shifting the girl's weight before continuing onward.

"I'll see yer berry later!" Kizzy said bye to Shin and tagged along back to the Inn behind her mother who waved at the farm folk. Leaving their dirty shoes outside, Sai hurried Kizzy upstairs to get her washed off.

Sai dipped a small washcloth in the bowl and started to scrub away the day's dirt and sweat off of Kizzy's skin. "After washing up it's off to bed. This has been a trying day for everyone and sleep will help us to get over it."

"Ya scrubbin' too hard on my arm!" Kizzy struggled away from the scritchy wet rag. Sai moved on to behind her little girl's ears, which evoked loud whines of complaint.

"If you don't want help washing up then you may do it by yourself if you like, sweetie." Handing the washcloth to her daughter, Sai scrubbed herself clean and changed into her nigthgown and pulled out an extra nightie for Kizzy. "It's a little big, but...I think it'll do for tonight. I'm sure the new seamstress can make you some proper pajamas later." With a pair of scissors the nightie became a backless dress, for easy wearing. Meanwhile Kizzy was wiping her leg with the dry corner of the washcloth.

Sai shook her head amusidly and toweled off the little girl and helped her into her makeshift pj's, tying a thin strip around Kizzy's waist to keep the back of the skirt from falling down.

"Now! We just need to get a bed for you for tonight and we can look into getting a proper one tomorrow." Sai picked up her extra blankets and arranged them on the floor, and closed the curtains, while Kizzy smuggled the good squishy pillow for herself and settled down to sleep on her tummy. Sai pet her bittersweet colored hair, "Sweet dreams, pumpkin. Mommy loves you."

Carol dragged her body through the forest, luckely the scenery started to look fimiliar, and though she was tired and poor, she knew it not to be wise to fall back to sleep in the forest again.

But soon she came acrossed the small opening of water and sighed in relief as she ran her hand through her hair shaking off any leaves that may have fallen into the once light brown hair. She sighed and walked over to the water kneeling beside it she cupped her hands in the water and brought it to her face, splashing it, trying to clean it as much as possible.

Again she dipped her hands into the water but this time brought the water to her lips and sipped some carefully. Feeling a tad more refreashed, she flet as though she could actually make it to the village.

She wiped her left arm acrossed her mouth riding herself of the extra water and stood making her way towards the clearing. But when actually got into the forest she found she didnt know what to do with herself. She could go to the inn, but how would she explain her state?

She could go mindlessly knocking on someones door asking to spend the night, but that wasnt excatly wise, as she remembered that she was beaten with a broom when she was a child by doing this. She looked around helplessly and sighed dropping to the ground wondering what to do now.

"Oi, this is going to be a looooong day" She murmered sitting up right watching for any movement in the village

"Sir Toshihiko," Chiaku said as she approached the schoolmaster, "we've endured a difficult evening of events, and we deserve much rest. However, I will be contacting you later today, if you allow, to discuss some important matters."

Bowing politely for a few seconds, she attempted a tired smile and then left the older man to his son. Chiaku began leading Momo home, clasping the girl closely to her side.

Faevan looked upon the village again, her eyes immedaitely darting to the edge, where her farm was nestled safely.

"Home..." She whispered, taking off immediately for her farm, in the opposite direction of the other villagers.

Shin eagerly followed his aunt, tugging at Dio with his free hand.

"We're home Papa!" He laughed, hugging the seedling to his chest to keep it safe. The ranch and farm were such a welcoming sight, he almost didn't want to turn away to wave goodbye to the strange pointy Fae before continuing on. He was going home.

"Come on, Shin." Faevan smiled. "You too Dio. Let's go home. I'll make some breakfast at the farm."

"With no eggs!" Shin warned.

Faevan laughed.

"Yes, with no eggs."

DS halted right outside the door of the teahouse, then went in, making sure to keep it down. If Hisakata or anyone else was asleep, she wanted to make sure she didn't wake anyone.

There was only one other being in the house, who was asleep in a chair in the dining room. Lita's head slumped onto a table, soft snores travelling across the room. It was clear she had tried to wait up, but failed.

Smiling, DS whispered her thanks and headed upstairs, finally laying her daughter down in her bed.

The fae's clothes were sticking to her body, and she tossed and turn for a few moments before finally resting stilly. Her forehead was warm, despite the cool morning, and she looked rather flushed.

"Perhaps I'd best call the doctor," DS murmured worriedly, stroking Linnea's hair softly.

Faevan

"Come on, Shin." Faevan smiled. "You too Dio. Let's go home. I'll make some breakfast at the farm."

"Breakfast? Oh, of course, breakfast!" Dio made sure he smiled, despite a continued feeling of uneasiness from the past days. Or was it only a day? Dio shook his head. He had barely come out of a strange coma when his world was turned upside down again. Having lived his entire life so close to Falsin forest with limited oddities, he thought he knew what he needed to about the Fae. The main attacks occurred decades before Dio's own birth. Honestly, village exposure to the Fae was small, Dio more experienced than most. But this? Ever since he found little Shin, Dio began understanding how little he knew. I just don't know what to think, Dio thought to himself. The entire day seemed a blur, especially the encounter with the strange three-eyed Fae. He had left everything to Faevan; it had seemed only right. I did the same with Shin, Dio realized, whether I meant to or not. Dio let out a sigh, looking down at his bag with the blackberry nestled inside. But again I brought out something to change my life. I won't burden Faevan with this one, though. I think how hard this must be on me, but of everyone in the village... I must admire her for how well she handles it.

Gently resting one hand on the small plant, Dio clasped Shin on the shoulder. "C'mon, Little One, are you sure you don't want some eggs?"

"Mr. Schmidt, have Momo cleaned and put to bed immediately," Chiaku said as she entered the manor, although her voice lacked command.

Before the servant took the young girl away, the governess kneeled and kissed the girl's cheek, saying, "You did good last night, Momo. We'll talk about what happened later, but you will need to sleep for now." Attempting a warm, reassuring smile, Chiaku hugged the girl briefly before releasing her to the care of Mr. Schmidt.

As for herself, the usual spirited energy seemed completely sucked from her as she walked absently to her own chambers. She collapsed into bed even as she was planning her schedule after a few hours of sleep.

Shin made a face at Dio as they reached the farm house, reminding his Papa that he still didn't like eggs...at all...in the least!

Faevan simply smiled, leaving the men to themselves as she prepared a meager meal. Most of the fresh food she had left in the house had gone bad, but thankfully, her crops did just fine for a few days without her attendance. She ran outside, gathering a few vegetables that could be eaten quickly with little to no preperation, returning with a full basket of ingredients to make a wonderful spring salad. Before long, it wall all lying cleaned and ready on her kitchen table.

"Sorry there's not more. The cheese went bad while we were away." She frowned. "I'll cook more tomorrow." She promised, breaking off a piece of bread for Shin and placing it on his plate. She did the same for Dio before sitting down. Honestly, she thought they would probably be better off eating at the Inn tonight, but seeing as Mr. Cordain had been through quite an ordeal, as had Ms. Sai, staying in was probably the best option. She settled herself, thoughtfully chewing her food and watching Shin as she ate. The child was positively beaming at his Papa, and she frowned slightly. She felt so close to this little faeling, and now that his Papa was well again...
...the fact of the matter was, there was barely enough room for Shin and Dio in the ranch, and now with the seedling. And when Faevan was being honest with herself, she'd have to admit she had come to love Shin deeply in the time she was caring for him. In her heart, she feared him leaving her side for Dio. But it was Shin's choice, and this matter could at least wait until after dinner.

Hisakata saw some of the villagers walk by and ran after them. Soon after she saw several buildings. She was finally home again. But Hisakata frowned. "Xue-Lien? Where are you...?"

Xue-Lien walked by herself to the teahouse, making sure no one saw her. She was upset and couldn't find her mother. Maybe she didn't look for me. Suddenly she heard her name being called out. She looked behind her and there Hisakata was.

Lienna sighed as she looked at the neatly arranged boxes of medicine standing in front of her. It wasn't like she cared about being lonely, indeed she had more time to do some scientific researches then. But how to do researches on these strange kind of children, when not a single customer was showing up ?

Because of these lack she had been out of town to arrange some new medicine orders and had finally arrived back at her hospital today.

The young woman shook her head. She had ordered them neatly for the third time already and she wasn't content at all. Lienna was one of those person who desperately needed something to do, because she wouldn't allow her brain to rest. It just didn't work like this...

Perhaps she needed to go and introduce to more people. She had been in this village for quiet a time now, but had almost met noone. Poor statistics, she told herself and looked at the boxes for a fourth time.

The entire walk Zeejay was silent, focussing on her breathing. Almost home her wounds had split entirely and bled through the cloth bandages Cordain had put on them, he rlung smarted horribley and breathing came ragged. Seriva assisted her mother, her soft golden eyes intense with worry.

Soon, when they breached the edge of the Forest, a small smile flickered across the guardswoman's sweaty face. she took one, two, three steps out into the fresh air and... collapsed.

She fell with a muted thud, her arms splayed out about her. Now that her jacket had parted, it revealed her blood-soaked clothing. She was covered in the noxious red stuff.

Throughout the mad search for the children, Zeejay had not heeded the warnings her body was sending to her. And even when the wounds had re-opened and bled freely.. she did not dare to stop. Not until sheer exhaustion had taken over. Now she lay, sprawled on the ground, chest rising and flaling in short rasps of breath.

Seriva gasped loudly, dropping to her knees and kneeling over her mother.. for the second time in a few days she had seen this happen.. And she never wanted to see it again. She ripped off her gloves and arm armour, setting it neatly to the side so she wouldn't scratch it. It was precious to her, a gift from the Govenor. Golden hands ran over zee's body, finding where the wounds were, trying to stem the blood-flow.

Frantic, Seriva looked around for someone near.. Too late, everyone had gone home already. "Worm.. Worm?" she whispered quietly, her voice choked. The cat slunk over, eyes dancing. "Watch Mother for me." The golden fae ordered.

Standing, Seriva ran as fast as she could to the Govenor's mansion, her feet pounding on the ground with a ringing pitter-patter. When she had finally made it, the normall composed and serious child gave into pounding the door and calling out loudly. "Lady CHIAKU! Please! Open up! Help! HELP!"
