Honestly though, in the long run, tablets are a better investment than a scanner. ^^; you can practice lineart AND color so much better and faster, and work up skills. n__n I went from horrible to somewhat decent in a year. I'm sure you could do just as well or better. A used tablet? D: I got mine from Wacom. *luff* Deuxia>> XD wow. heart good buy! ^__^ The one I found is a Wacom, and I believe it was new. I'll have to look into it after I get back from my break. 3nodding We shall see, that we shall. mrgreen I got mine on NewEgg, it cost about $76, and it came with everything that the $100 one does. New, in the box and all. Came with the same software bundle; Photoshop Elements, Corel Painter demo, etc. That website is my favorite place to shop for deals. ^^ Funny thing is, my tablet made me appreciate my traditional media skills a lot more. Why? Because I SUXXORS with the tablet. sweatdrop I can color pretty decent, but line art? Hooboy do I suck. Is there a difference between the Microns and the Staedtler pens? Cuz I have a set of Staedtlers, but I just bought a 2.0 micron to test it out. Hey Nyome, where do you get your RL commissions? Do people just break down your doors waving money at you, or do you advertise?

xd Speaking of art mediums, I gots me a question for all you folks out there. Do any of you paint in watercolor? When I start up my art again buh that's the medium I want to go with but I don't know two things about it. I'm going to try to start taking classes buh but I just wanted to know if anyone got any tips 'n tricks of the trade to pass on, such as technique and tools and such. Tankles ^_^

depends on what you do with it. I just got a whole big box of guache for free (cheap guache, but it was free, so who's gonna complain? not me) so I get to experiment with it. But I've never been able to actually paint in watercolors before, because...well...I didn't have any, and I'm poor.

I love watercolors. They're difficult to work with at first, but you get used to them. They're perfect for sunsets. xd

Nyome, Deuxia & Memai>> It is certainly true that I can't go wrong with the tablet + scanner combo, but my check-book (and my mother xd ) won't like me to much after that endeavour. whee
I'll probably go with the tablet, mostly because it seems like its more portable. 3nodding
Ah...one more week of class...and then...SPRING BREAK!! xd (I'll see if I can get my friend to scan some of my drawings and e-mail them to me when I go home, it will at least be something)

I dont think Ive ever used watercolors, except on kindergarten...
I bought some cheap clay some months ago, I adore clay. I make really kikass things with it ^.^
and im using firefox and all the way from Puerto Rico and IC Site looks ok to me smile
lovely 2nd chapter btw AD, you really got me hooked all over again heart

Back at ECU they had this one scanner in the computer lab...I was embarrased to use it to scan my scantily-clad people because it was SO horrendously loud. I felt like everyone was turning around and staring at the softcore-smut-covered screen! xd

Seriously, my scanner sounded like...someone running an animal down with a semi. "Rrrrreeeeoooooowwwwaaaaeeeoooiiiikkkkk....." I had to take it apart and clean the insides. How sad is that? xd
