Whats the difference between HeartGold and Gold besides the upgraded graphics and probably the addition of any mechanics from the games that came after Gold?

You can trade pokemon from Pearl/Diamond/Platinum, since it's a DS game.

That aside, same story/settings, and same pokemons for all of the basic playthrough.
