Nuri opened his mouth, but quickly closed it as he heard the roars of the hunting party. Whatever he had been about to say would not be voiced, for the pride's livelihood had come back to the cave in the capable care of Akira, Nola, and Meribelle. The dark male's ears flattened in defeat - perhaps he had lain it a bit thick, but Ling had been judged harshly by lions both part of and from other prides. "A zebra..." he said softly. "If I may, I believe I have a charge and her cubs to deliver their dinner to."

As Akira finished his prey he looked around the cave slowly. Once he was finally finished he stood up shaking his mane and streched. He padded over and sat close to Nola giving her a loving Nuzzle.

Ling watched as Nuri walked off. He was glad the other had left it at that, he did not want to have to fight him. He watched the other leave and looked to the food where it lay. He tore pieces off of it and set it before his queen and then took some for himself before moving to the mouth of the cave. He'd come to a decision on what to do about Leanna and her mate, he would take the land, give it to Tristin...the male had been of little use till now, he would have his own land then.

Nuri waited for Ling to finish with the zebra meat, then tore off a hind leg to bring back to Pastel. When he returned to her side however, instead of making her tear at it in her weakened state after birthing cubs, he splayed the meat away from the bones. Strips of meat he gave to her in large quantities to help recover her strength, a few he kept for himself to stave off the knifelike pangs of hunger. The femur he left for Pastel to gnaw on if she wanted to. When he was done, he lay back, licking his paws and lips then looked at her with a faint smile on his face.

Nola smiled at Akira and then looked at the little prince who pounced on Akanu. "Excuse me dear prince but it is time for Akanu's bath. Maybe you would like one as well?" She moved closer to remove the prince knowing that Ling and Xia would understand.

Akuna's teal eyes widened with disbelief as a ripped piece of zebra hung from his jaws. Quickly gulping it down he glanced towards Nola, he gave her a soft pout. "But momma...I dont want a bath." His pleading eyes moved towards Akira, he'd understand.

Akira Chuckled as he saw the cubs expression. He looked at Nola then back to Akuna and smiled "now Akuna, You should take your bath" he said calmly "maybe if your good afterwards you can accompany me when I go out and scout the eges of the territory" He said smiling warmly at the young cub.

Nola smiled at Akira and then grabbed Akanu by the scruff of his neck before putting him between her paws to clean him. She hurried the bath though so he could play again.
The old lioness smiled at such a sight. Nola would be a great mother. She stood and nuzzled her daughter before venturing into the cave further to see what the other lions were up to.

He sat still for his bath, with a smirk on his face he watched his nana pad off. "Bye Nana.." he called out as he turned around in Nola's paws and nuzzled her face, he was becoming used to being with Nola and Akira and Nana, it made him feel safe, but every once in a while he'd glance behind him...he awaited.

With a lick and a nuzzle Nola smiled at Akanu. "Now you can go play. Just remember to stay near the den unless you are with your father." She gave him another nuzzle and then nudged him towards the other cubs to play. She would keep an eye out for him though in case he wanted her help.
Adelle smiled at Akanu over her shoulder when he called bye to her. ~Nana...I like being called that.~ She thought amusingly to herself. She then saw Nuri and Pastel in the back and desided to check on them. "Hello you two. How is parenthood so far Pastel dear?" She said in her usual kind voice.

The young prince Kuan-yin starred up at Nola as she gave the younger cub a bath, he then moved forward, falling over Nola's paws, his tummy up to her, his arms and legs flailed about. His eyes starred up at her as if to say 'if you insist' his tail wiggled under him. "Bath..." He nodded his head with a very confident air.
Ling looked at Kuan-yin and sighed, the young one was arrogant, even for a child. He sighed and looked to Nola. "The young one is certainly demanding..." he laughed and watched the pair, feeling that he did not have to move from his seat. "Both you and Akira have your hands full...if my son thinks you his caretaker.

The hunt mistress chuckled as she looked down at the little prince and sighed. "Indeed you are right Ling. Do you think Xia would mind if I helped her when I am not hunting?" She smiled at the king knowing the queen would love the help.

Akira Smiled at the two cubs Akanu and Kuan-yin 'so this is whats its like to be a father' he thought to himself chuckling. 'its wonderful! i've never been so happy' At lings comment he chuckled before looking at the young prince fondly "He'll learn that arrogance is not a good quality to have as he grows" He said smiling and watching the young prince receive his bath. 'Perhaps Akanu would rather stay and play here than come patrolling with me' he thought watching for the purple cubs next move.

He eyed the other cub, he didnt understand he was the young prince. With a smirk he swatted at him, his eyes danced with jealousy as he then flicked his tail upwards and shook his coat as he wiggled away. As he moved towards Akira, he nuzzled the males paws as he glanced upwards. "No, I want to go with you..I can play later..patrolling is important isnt it?" He asked with a tilt of his head.

Akira smiled at the cub and nodded "yes it is very important" he said then glancing at Ling "King Ling, would it be aright if I took Akanu with me on a patrol of the territory?" he asked
