For some mouses (or is it mice?) there are three buttons. One would be in the middle, hence the middle click. I think it's been replaced by the wheel, though. But then again, I pretty much have no idea.

Some mice have a middle click built into the mousewheel, some have a separate button, some have none, and some mice have twelve buttons with a coffeemaking dvd player build inside. middle-click generally opens up websites in a new page but it depends what browser and settings you are using.

Oh, right. My mouse wheel has a middle click. It opens up new pages in firefox, if clicked on a link, but otherwise just does the scroll arrow thing.

My mouse is cool. There aren't three buttons. Not even two! The entire mouse is ONE big button! ^.^

Hell yeah. You just take off the big plastic thing covering it (protection) which is really easy to do, press the Apple, and it opens up into the built-in Coffee-making DVD player.
Magical Macs. whee heart

I was never a fan of the single button mouse. It was too easy to accidentally click it, and I hated having to push in a button on the keyboard and press the mouse to open the right click menu...I say right click menu cause I don't know any other name for it.
Anyway, this time I'm actually off to bed.
nighty-night.

The contextual menus, yeah. Well, I've always known the CTRL-Click, so it's more natural to me than doing the whole Right-Click thing.
Good night. (:

I have the whole clickable mouse wheel and a button on the side which I assigned to double-click.
But this one mouse I saw.. it's a Laser mouse by logitech. It is Godly. For something like $150, you get laser technology, with a scrollwheel that goes back and worth AND side to side, plus three buttons on the sides. And it conforms straight to your whole hand, not just your palm or ball.
It's Godly.

Eh-heh. It's like a mouse-ball or the "eye" under an optical mouse.
