maggie_mae that's what i'm worried about. i'd like to find a real job so that i can afford to move out of my parents' house so i can get really good financial aid for when i go back to college. but part of me doesn't want to get a real job because i'd only be leaving them in a few months and that wouldn't be fair to them so i think that maybe a shitty job would be okay. but shitty jobs are awful and i've had my share of them. i've seen what it's like to have a real job and i'm not sure if i could go back to having a full-time shitty job. so i don't know.
but uh, to answer you question, yes. i would like to find a permanent job. xd

maggie_mae businesses call them and ask for coverage like when someone calls in sick, or goes on extended/maternity leave, vacation. or they get people from temp agencies to do bullshit jobs that no one else will do. or they're used to find people for positions with a high turnover rate (in my area there's a lot of mechanical/machinist positions, box-packing) for temp-to hire.
they're great if you can prove to them that you're reliable and able to do stuff and they like you. otherwise they generally blow. gonk Not only that, but they always (at least in my experience) make it seem like they've got a good opportunity lined up for you, and then it falls through. Not only that, but you're not actuallly getting paid what you're supposed to. The temp agency takes a percentage of your paycheck, technically.

Yay! Another snow day for me! biggrin
The weird thing is, they had us down for a two hour delay first, and today is worst then yesterday. My mom was watching people trying to get up and down a big hill by our house, and three people got stuck. One slid into the ditch and it took them a half hour to get out. At least the people at school came to their senses and gave us the snow day. 3nodding
