"We were part of pack for a while. When she ran off, I left." He pushed himself off Jeff. "Well, we can't hide in here forever." He started toward the exit.

Yakov turned back and pushed Jeff all the way into the stall. "Well, you're not hiding anywhere forever with out me. And you are certainly not leaving me alone with Brittany."

"All things considered, I'd rather deal with Brittany than necrophilia, so..." He grabbed Jeff's hand and practically pulled him out of the stall. "There's not room for her in your car, so she can't get a ride from us anywhere, so if we just go and drive away, we should be rid of her."

Things were thoroughly confusing now. The wolf was down and had, as they often did, revert to its human disguise. The human was a woman, as Connor observed while approaching, but that did not surprise or confuse him. Luka had told him the gender. No, the real shocker was that this was the girl from the school that he had intended not to touch. But her wolf form had looked different and Luka had not recognized her scent. Why?

As Connor was about to contemplate this further, a blur of white among the trees caught his attention.

When he saw her pathetic, limp human form lying in the dirt he did not stop running. Pain sliced into his very soul, but anger and a need for justice propelled him onward to the man with the gun. It was that hunter.

He had been noticed, but he did not care. Though the hunter began to fire, Curtis continued onward. Despite his rage, he had the common sense to run in an unpredictable pattern to avoid the bullets being launched at him. When he was upon his target, the gun was out of bullets and the human cursed just before being being knocked the ground under the wolf's weight.

The sound of ribs cracking pleased him by some means, but that was not enough. A life for a life. It would not bring his mate back, but it was the closest thing to justice he could deliver. Curtis' jaws sank into the young man's shoulder.

With a very soft thud, the silver bullet fell out of the open wound in Kat's forehead and landed on the ground. The bullet hole slowly disappeared but there was still a small stain of blood.
Kat started hear something. She couldn't see but she thought she heard the sound of tearing flesh. She tried consentrating on her vision. Her body wouldn't move but she could hear.

"Thanks, for beleiving in me..." Jeff walked out into the store and there she was, waiting. Like a vulture waits for the lions to finish with their fill before pouncing on the dead carcass of a weak gazell...

Luka tumble to the ground, but the strangled sounds coming from Connor got her up quickly. She poured all of her anger out and charged comming at the male from underneath toppling him off Connor. She stood over Connor. "I said HE'S MINE!"

"Hey guys, so what are we going to do now." Brittany was bouncier than ever. She was so excited to see Yakov again. And it seemed like Jeff liked her and that was even better.

Yakov tried not to roll his eyes. "Actually, Jeff and I are done at the mall and we kind of need to get going."

"Back home. I've got some stuff I need to take care of there, and we've only got one car, so Jeff has to come too."

"Well if Jeff isn't doing anything, I've got a car so I could take him back later and we coulod hang out some more." She went to put her arm around Jeffs.

As he was about to leap at the female guarding his prey from him, the smallest of sounds rendered him immobile. Even though it meant admitting defeat and submission to this other female, he had to investigate.

"Katra?" he called hopefully.
