Made me cry... Good thing I had my Giant Pocky there to cheer me up...
Well... (For those who never played, I'll give a little back story...)
Three kids live on this island called Destiny Island... They live there with other kids... [Wakka, Tidus (FFX/FFX2) and Selphie (FFVIII) are kids in this...] Riku (
Not Rikku from FFX/FFX2) and Sora (
Not Sora from Digimon) are best friends... One day, a girl from another world comes to their little island. Her name is Kairi and they quickly befriend her.
Kairi's appearance starts Riku to thinking that maybe... Just maybe... If Kairi can come to their world... Then they can go to other worlds as well. So he sets his heart on finding a way off that island. Some years later... They build a raft and collect foods to be on their way to find other worlds... (Mind you they are only about 14...) But the night before their departure... Something horrible happens. Their world is taken over by The Heartless (Creatures without heart...) and it is all distroyed... Riku stands at a big swirling portal and tells Sora it is their chance to go to other worlds... Then he gets sucked into it... Though Kairi is nowhere to be found...
Well... After much traveling... You finally find Riku... And you two have a bit of an arguement on how to handle Kairi's disappearance... (You = Sora now...) He decides he'll find her on his own since Donald refuses to let him travel with you... Now you are argueing with Donald about it and Riku disappears... You, Donald, and Goofy go to talk to Yuffie (FFVII) Aerith (Aeris; FFVII) and Leon (Squall; FFVIII)... Outside, Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty) convinces Riku that you no longer care for him or Kairi and she 'Takes him under her wing...' She knows how much he loves Kairi... And she will use it to her advantage (Believe me!)
Still much later, you find out that Kairi's heart was taken by The Heartless... Riku tells you this when he attempts to steal Pinocchio's heart to temporarily give to Kairi... You fight him, convinced there is another way to save Kairi...
THEN... After more travels ( @_@ ) you get to Hallow Bastion... The palace in which Kairi grew up... (Along with Yuffie, Aerith, and Leon... And their wise and powerful leader Ansem...) Maleficent tells Riku he needs the Key Blade (The blade you are using to fight and seal The Heartless out of the World Cores...) to find Kairi's heart and restore it... He steals the Key Blade and gives you a wooden sword... [One you used to play with when you two would sword fight... (That hurts... Deep down... =( ) ] Since Donald and Goofy's orders were to stick with the Key Blade... They abandon you to follow Riku... (That hurts twice as bad! =( )
Then Beast (Beauty and The Beast) helps you get into the palace. You and Riku exchange a few words... Donald and Goofy's concience get to them and they rejoin you... (YAY!) You tell Riku off and then the Key Blade returns to you as well... (DOUBLE YAY!) You beat up Riku and he runs away...
Riku is walking to find Maleficent when a shadowy figure appears to him and tells him his heart is weak. (0.o Hey... He looks familiar!) The figure tells Riku in order to become strong, he must open his heart to him... (Darkness...) So Riku does so...
Meanwhile... You fight Maleficent in her humanoid form... (Easy Peasy...) Then as she runs away into a portal, you follow her... Riku is there and he sounds funny... Like he has two different voices... (0.o Oh no! Could it be!?) He brags that he has a Key Blade and that it has the ability to unlock people's hearts... Sure enough... He whips it out and stabs Maleficent... (This is an AWESOME scene BTW and I recommend playing AT LEAST this far, just to see this scene...) He unlocks Maleficent's heart and she transforms into a huge dragon... (Squeee! That was so cool! <.< >.> HOSHEET! LOOK OUT!) You fight her... (Actually pretty easy...) Then you go on, trying to find the Princesses of Heart (Girls with pure hearts...) You walk into a large corridor and there are six of them... (They appear to be frozen in capsules...) Then you run on and you see Kairi laying on the floor. You run up to her... Goofy is trapped outside the area by a force field...
You plead with Kairi to wake up... (I'll try to quote as best I can remember...)
Sora: Kairi! Kairi! Open your eyes!
Riku: It is no use... That girl has lost her heart... She can not wake up...
Sora: What? You... You're not Riku.
Riku: The Key Hole can not be completed... So long as the last Princess of Heart still sleeps...
Sora: The princess? Kairi's a princess?
Riku: Yes... And without her power, the Keyhole will remain incomplete.... It is time she awakened.
Sora: Who ever you are, let Riku go! Give him back his heart!
Riku: But first, you must give the princess back her heart...
*Riku points his Key Blade at Sora and Sora falls to his knees*
Donald: Sora!
Sora: What's...?
Riku: Don't you see yet? The Princess's heart is responding... It has been there all along... Kairi's heart rests within you!
Sora: Kairi... Kairi's inside me?
Riku: I know all that there is to know....
Sora: Tell me.... Who are you?
Riku: It is I... Ansem, the seeker of darkness! (HOSHEET! I KNEW IT!)
*Donald tries to protect Sora and is flung out of force field*
Ansem: So, I shall release you now Princess... Complete the Keyhole with your powers... Open the door... Lead me into everlasting darkness!
(Yeah, I saw this about 500 times before finally beating it... AWESOME scene though...)
Ansem/Riku attacks you and you have to fight him on your own... (OH NO! This is worse than Maleficent... Very difficult though he is weaker than her... Perhaps it is because you can not summon help...) You defeat Ansem/Riku (Finally!) But you can not lock the Key Hole because it is not complete... You pick up Riku's Key Blade and stab yourself... Releasing Kairi's heart... (Along with the other Princesses...) You disappear and Kairi wakes up... All are upset... Ansem appears and threatens Kairi...
BUT THEN...
Riku's spirit appears outside Ansem's body and holds him back... He tells the others to run... Heartless are coming... The three take off and almost leave... But Kairi knows she can not leave the other Princesses behind. She goes back...
A small Heartless is left at the Key Hole... (You move the analog stick and it moves... OH NO! You've become a Heartless!) You find Kairi and she somehow knows it is you... She hugs you... You return to normal...
You take her back to Traverse Town... (Now a safe haven... Sorta...) Now you go to finish the job... You go to the End of the World... Fight your way through there... (REALLY HARD MAN!) Finally you get through and past all the Demons and Heartless... You reach the "Final Resting Place" (Last Save Point... OH NO!) You continue on and fight Ansem... (Now you are alone from here on...) Then you fight a Darkside Heartless (Giant Heartless from the beginning of the game...) Then you fight Ansem again... You get sucked into his World of Chaos and have to fight him again... Ansem will go into resting in a giant creature... Meanwhile, you attack tiny things around this creature... It opens a portal and you can go and save Goofy... Then you come back and you must attack the head of the creature... (But now Goofy's with you! This is easy compared to Ansem...) Then another portal opens... You can go save Donald... You come back again and fight Ansem one final time... Both buddies with you... (YAY! Now it isn't so hard!) You defeat Ansem and he tried to open the door to the Heart of all Worlds... Kingdom Hearts...
He says that darkness lies beyond but you tell him he is wrong... That light is there... The door opens... Ansem is ingulfed in light... He disappears... You run to try and close the door...
NOW ON TO MY POINT OF TELLING YOU ALL THAT...The door is huge and you don't know how you will close it in time... Goofy and Donald look in to see huge Heartless sprouting out from everywhere... You all begin to panic and try to force the door shut.
Riku appears... He's on the other side of the door
Riku: Don't give up! Come on, Sora... Together, we can do it!
Sora: Ok!
King Mickey shows up with another Key Blade and tells you to close the door for good... You question him but he stands firm.
Mickey: Don't worry... There will always be a door to the light.
They push and push with all their might to shut the door. Suddenly, with Riku pulling on the other side, they are able to move the doors... Riku looks out at you from between the crack with sincere eyes...
Riku: Take care of her... (Chey becomes a blubber baby...)
The door shuts and you lock it with your Key Blade... Then, in the distance, Kairi appears and you run to her. You reach out and grab her hand but you see you are standing on two different types of plain... You know you must go...
Sora: Kairi, remember what you said before? I'm always with you... I'll come back to you!
Kairi: I know you will!
You are pulled apart into different worlds and you disappear from her sight... As she watches you go, Destiny Island re-appears and she goes to a place you used to play as a child... She sees pictures you two drew of each other and she starts to cry... (Chey cries so hard snot pours from her nose and she needs a bucket)
The rest of the ending preceeds...
Ok, I know that was kind of a game overview... But it isn't as sad to see Riku being shut behind that door... And seeing them all torn apart without knowing all they went through... Ya' know?
