So, I ended up going to this tea party this weekend. Which, I wasn't informed it was a tea party prior to going. In fact, I was encouraged to dress like a pirate. Lacking piratey gear, however, I just went in my normal stuff. I was told it was a tea party once I got off the boat. It wasn't ready yet, so I helped decorate. I helped prepare a lot of the snacks and stuff.
There were some really awesome tarts and pastries. And of course breads, cheeses, teas, and fruits. I ended up mostly eating breads and tarts though.

So, my friend being who she is, dressed me up once we got there. Luckily my frame is built to handle most clothes, so everything they had pretty much fit me fine. I had a silk top hat before this, but her sister came home from sword fighting practice and demanded it back. Luckily I suit a bowler hat just as well.
Yay, my knowledge of food and service comes in handy for once. Also, propane torches are fun to use. Though, I suggest getting a smaller one for most everything. The smaller ones are more fun to use because you can move them around more easily.
The sister in the top hat, caramelizing some meringue on lemon tart things. Trusting her with a torch probably wasn't the greatest of ideas, but I suppose trusting any of us with one probably wasn't the greatest of ideas. We didn't burn any of them though, at least not too badly. Well, with the exception of the one we poured 100 proof peppermint schnapps on and torched for a birthday thing.
And also two other friends of mine. Of course, the hostess is taking the pictures, which is why she isn't in most of them.
Looking at these pictures, there are like 7 or 8 where I'm just sitting there
licking meringue off
my fingers.
We ended up watching this weird show Hex, and Black Adder and stuff. Of course as the night goes on most of us change out of the more formal attire. At this point the only real dressy part of me is a vest and shirt, and the hat. A ferret knocked a gin and tonic onto my
jacket.
The book the girl is reading in the corner is the book we were using for the bondage techniques, which is also why the rope was out. Oddly, every boyscout I've ever known was into weird stuff like that. Mostly basic stuff though, the only real involving thing was a dragonfly harness. They ended up practicing that one on me, for some reason. It was actually pretty neat looking though. A little uncomfortable in certain areas though, it was really made for a woman. Or a masochistic man.

Since you have to get to the island by boat, it's kind of a hassle to leave. Not that I would've left that night anyway, I was being lazy. We all kind of filtered out the next day, but god we were exhausted. We were up until about 5 am, and then most of us woke up around 7. It's hard to sleep in places like that, especially since everyone was pretty much just piled on top of one another.
You can kind of tell everyone is out of it. Also note, I'm not wearing socks. Which is why I might look sort of annoyed as well as tired. I hate not having socks, but they were wet from running around outside in the rain and I hate wet clothes more.
The ride home was nice, but I was falling asleep at the docks waiting for a bus. It started to rain pretty hard too, but luckily it didn't last too long.
