I don't get it... Noone ever will... Why do humans fight like this... I have to get to Ostia to stop my own blood halves from fighting each other, but will ceasing this one create yet another one somewhere else.

Finn's slumber was startled by a loud noise downstairs and it quickly makes the young lord jump into a sit position. He quickly jumped off the bed and ran to the door, laying his ear against the wooden surface, gaze upon a window in which the morning sun allready made its appearance.

Voice 1:Wha' do ye mean we can't know if t'e noble brat came 'ere?!
Voice 2: Keep it down, Mapa, the whole region is hearing you, you'll attract attention!
Voice 1: But... argh... Yes boss...

Everything became silent for a moment, Finn pressed his ear as much as he could against the door, he could hear a faint sound of metal clinging: The bandits must be looking in the weapon deposit box.

Voice 1: An Axe and a... lance...
Voice 2: Don't play dumb with me, girl. You give me those keys or you loose your throath...

Finn gasps and draws back from the door, eyes quickly running around the room. two doors in his rooms were leading to the neighbor rooms, the one to his left being Takako's. The door being blocked by a simple desk, he pushes it lightly aside, in complete darkness, open the door and enter Takako's room, climbing over the desk infront of the door on her side. He's about to walk to her bed to wake her up but the door lock clics, Finn eyes widen, he quickly, and silently, goes to the wall next to the door, and the wooden door suddenly opens very quietly and slowly and stops right infront of Finn's nose. He holds his breath.

Man, I feel so BAD for having to leave Ta-chan when we were younger T__T)

Yeah, I'd regret it too.))

Takako stirs when she hears the door open to her room.

"...Lord Finn? Is that you?"

At first there is silence. Then, a loud THUNK! like an axe splitting the wall. Then the harsh CLANG!! of metal against metal.

A light bursts into the room, a torch held by an enormous man with rotten teeth. A bandit! Takako stifles a scream and suddenly notices Finn on the floor, wrestling with another bandit. He manages to knock the bandit back for a split second, taking hold of the axe.

"Takako-san! Get out of here, now!!" he yells.

Takako glances out of the window, her mind racing. There, Maia is calmly grazing next to a tree in the dim light of a lantern. Her spear is chained to Maia's saddle...

She leaps out of bed. "NO!" she screams. "I won't leave you!"

She grabs Finn's arm and plunges through the window into the murky darkness.

Krett looked at the abandoned axe and muttered something under his breath. It sounded like a prayer, instead of the swearing so heavily used by his quote-unquote "fellow holy man".

"That idiot. That blazin' idiot. I cannot believe this."

Yank, nothing. The axe stayed rooted.

"And of all the horribly stupid things to do with his best weapon." Krett examined the stump for a moment, then wiggled the axe's handle. Already nearly cleaved through, the stump split in two and relinquished Finn's lost blade.

"I think we can still catch up to him if we get a move on. Let's go!"

OOC- and now to work a little time magic so you guys can start the chapter...

"Yeesh," Lyle said as he watched the stump fall apart, "he's a strong one, ain't he? No wonder the ladies like him so much."

Lyle looked around and sighed.

"You know," he said in a sour tone, "of all the things I hate to do, I'm somehow finding myself doing three of them right now. Helping in battle, being near people that know my reputation, and making my family proud. I'm never going to hear the end of this."

He stopped for a dramatic pause.

"But," he said with a genuine smile, "you just asked me to do something I'm exceptionally good at and enjoy doing."

Lyle proceeded to sprint off at break-neck speed. Surprisingly fast for such a weak man with a full pack on his back. Every few seconds, Lyle caught himself flailing had to stop himself so as to look somewhat dignified.

"Try to keep up," he called out.

OOC- We're doing a bit of a time jump to save time here, Kadmas. If you want to RP before the "time jump" just denote it, or if anyone has a problem with this, tell me and I'll edit it out.

*TIME JUMP*

Lyle slowed himself down as the two "comrades" reached a clearing in the forest that led to a town up ahead. They could see a small inn in the distance where there seemed to be some light flashing in it in the distance denoting activity. Lyle thought about the warmth and safety an inn usually brings as long as a good cleric stays out of the tavern and doesn't call any sailors, "a drunken moronic barbarian." Lyle learned so many happy lessons in his youth.

He stopped completely and point off about half a mile towards the inn.

"That looks like a good place to find out where they went," Lyle stated, "they had to pass by here."

"Plus," Lyle thought to himself, "I can't think of any place safer to be right now."

Krett shook his head. "That won't be necessary." He pointed a finger off towards the inn, and the small town beyond it. "Listen to that."

Sure enough, there was a chorus of metallic clangs ringing through the street. "Our mystery man is a magnet for trouble, it seems. You still have that axe he left behind, right?"

He didn't wait for an answer. "In any case, you stand behind me while I break through their lines. And wave that staff if I take a hit, eh?"

((OOC: You know, it occurs to me that Krett's turning out a lot more gung-ho than I intended. I still like him more than Lucuis, tho'.))

((Hee hee. Krett reminds me of the monk from Seima no Kouseki, Asurei. Asurei is pretty cool, and he has the kind of hair I imagine Krett having... except reddish.))

Eldac looked up from the leaf of the trees he had been studying.

Whoops. Eheh, lost track of time.

Eldac whirled around, his cloak flying through the air. What had become of the battle? Where the clang of weapons had once been was only silence.

"NO! I was going to ask them for...assistance"

You mean they could protect you while you look for your book

Eldac brushed off his cloak and began walking towards the Eturian Border. There were all sorts of towns there, and the theives must be making there way out of the country.

Eldac's stomach grumbled, and he took the bread from his pack and chewed it as he walked. Night was falling. He wondered where those warriors had gone, why they had fought, and what for?

"I wonder if I'll see them again?"

Your talking to yourself

"Quiet"

((And off I go to the the Eturian Border. If you wouldnt mind me joining up with the main quest, or I can just tag along behind, doing some sidequests as I go ^^))

It was a late night when Kuriza began to leave the capital of Eutraia. "Where's a mercenary when you need them, or some kind of guard. Magic users everywhere...I need to find Lord Finn though..I beleive he may be able to help me.." He was barely outside of the city, traveling in a large cloak and heading for the border. "He must've not gotten far....This war must be stopped though, he's my one way ticket to getting rid of the Marquess of Ostia.." He continued to press onward, heading for the border.

It had taken Eldac a surprising amount of time to reach the border of Eturia. His progress had been hindered, by his complete lack of direction. He had long since memorised maps of this reigon, but large portions had been missed, with the warning "Here be Dragons" printed in spidery writing.

Eventually, he had heard of a mass of bandits that where searching for a foreign Lordling.

A foreign Lordling? That fellow with the axe!

So putting two and two together, Eldac finnaly reached a small village. The sun was only making the faintist effot to shine, and an inky blackness covered the area.

Course, having spent his entire life in a dark dusty chamber, with lots of flamable paper negating the usefullness of candles, this mattered not. In fact, Eldac was surprised to see another standing upon the hill looking over the village. All he could see were the twins swords in each hand.

Of course, this being a time of war and all, even the un "Streetwise" Eldac knew that you dont walk up to fellows in the middle of the night with large swords. Especialy dressed in shaman gear.

(Yeah, thats kuriza. And I hope its okay I moved you, slightly. If you'd like to chat a bit, before the scream and ensueing battle ^^)

(it's alright)

"Hm??" Kuriza had sheathed the blades. "And who might you be? A warrior I hope, i'm in need of some assitance...." The Sacaean Lord and Warrior turned to face him. "I'm looking the Lord who reigns here, Finn is his name I do beleive. I had gone to the castle in hopes of finding him, but heard he took off for Ostia...."

Mildly taken back by the Swordsman's directness Eldac paused. The swordsmans coldness, but also calm logic disturbed Eldac slightly. Sqeezing the book of magic in his hand, and teh fact the two swords had been safely put away, made Eldac more confident.

"Finn? I am afraid I havent heard that name before. Though there is a lord, who wears an Ositian crest upon his armour, resting in that Inn down there.

Way to go Eldac. Tell EVERYONE what your up too. You dont know if this man is a theif! Or a bandit!

"Why are you searching for Finn? Is he a friend? Are a member of his entoruage?"

For a moment, the golden haired warrior seemed to disappear, but then popped up near Eldac. "Thank you for the information, might I ask your name? I am Kuriza, Sacaen Lord for Bulgar..." (Damn...It's too bad we don't have ninja Lords...)
PostPosted: Thu Feb 10, 2005 3:28 pm

The warrior moved so fast, Eldac's eyes couldnt follow his movements. he had no idea that that people could be so fast. Knowing he was at the warriors mercy..

"My name is Eldac. I...didnt know I was talking to a lord. I apoligise. Please. Tell me what it is you require of me. I will help in anyway I can." Eldac spoke nervously.

Surely, I have my own mission. But how can I look for a book when Eturia is engulfed by war? And besides. The two goal may not be mutually exclusive..

He smirked a bit wickedly, noting the fear within the shaman. "For someone who practices the Dark and Elder Magic, you do become frightened a bit easy. However, I do require a travel companion. YOu will be greatly rewarded for you services..." He stepped back a bit, moving at a normal pace. "But these bandits you speak of, I might need help taking them down..." He looked at him, greene eyes glowing in the darkness.
