AoiTori Kaidan AoiTori Kaidan Mmm, America: Sticking our heads up our asses for 50+ years. ;D Make that 100+ years. Yeah, I guess we should start out with our little demand that they open their borders, or we'll open them forcefully. Aren't we just the cutest little tyrant. ....150+ years. ;P Suffice to say, we are basically the KINGS of sticking our heads up our asses. :3nods:

My current stance on this is that I don't really mind that J-rock/pop acts play at anime conventions. I just know that I had lots of fun when I did go to cons just to see bands. It's like all the stuff I love in one place.

Do you have to pay money to go to an anime con? Do you have to pay money to see the bands play there? I'm just wondering....

Tsukasaa Do you have to pay money to go to an anime con? Do you have to pay money to see the bands play there? I'm just wondering.... Depending on the band. I think they had to pay to see PLC. Maybe that was just for the good seats. Probably had to pay for L'arc. As for the smaller bands. If you go to the con, you get in for free (As long as you wait in line D: ) Or you could get a one day pass (if you wanted to view the con), or a concert only pass. That's how it was at fanime.

The L'Arc concert was included with registration, actually. So if you pre-registered and got the sticker, you were paying the $40; same as if you registered when you got there and paid the $55.

Yeah, that does sound like a good deal to me too. I had to pay 100+ for some of the concerts I've been too (not that many due to this fact actually gonk ) But, if I really like the band, I don't mind paying that much....

I've been trying to tell them that. A lot of people are afraid to start charging for the concerts. Mainly because the attendance will be lower. I think that they should start out with a $5~10 charge or something... ANYTHING, you know? Since they never break even. sweatdrop

The L'Arc concert was a total steal. Frankly if they started charging for the con concerts, it'd be a better thing. A lot of the people who attend go just because they can - they don't even know who the bands are.

The most I've paid for a show was like $20. I've never really seen any famous bands, though.
