((awesome! maybe you can create more people for me when Western High is introduced and Tech High. Oops! I...said too much!! heehee)) Everybody had gathered and all to train. To train for the Prelims that are coming up. What a day it was going to be!
Coach Halber began yelling names.
"Trey and Slade...you'll train against Atamia and...hmm interesting. Adrian!"
Ian, surprised, held Adrian's hand right after yelling it, "Adrian! Against...no. It's too much for you! C-Coach!?"
Coach Halber walked up to Adrian and Ian. He looked at them both. He turned to look at Adrian, he saw something in her that only he himself saw. It was something special. To put her on a doubles and with Atamia would help her out big time. This will give her the chance to learn and to grow. It's what Coach Halber wanted. He took out a racket from his hand, it was a gold racket. Who knew where he got it? But he quickly threw it at Adrian's arms. He smiled, "Ho Ho Ho! A racket is better if someone holds it, aren't I right? Ho Ho Ho!"
"C-Coach...I...", Ian just responded looking at Adrian to find out what will happen.
Slade chuckled, "They're giving us new people. Why?"
Trey laughed while patting Slade on the back which was aggravating, "Hey hey! Pull no punches yes! Haha! We're going to win then geez!"
The coach then turned to walk towards the center again looking at everybody. He murmured under his breath, "Where's Mai?"
Quote: Meanwhile... Outside Western High... A western high school boy holds his stomach as he kneels on the floor. He grunts and rubs his stomach looking down. Another boy quickly runs to his help, "What happened!!" "Tha-That...That kid...he's so violent...He...", at that moment the high school boy passes out. The other boy tries to move him but it's no good. He quickly begins to yell, "He-Help! Help! Somebody! I need a nurse!" A tall shadow appears hovering over the boy. The shadow rises. The boy turns around as he gasps.

Adrian quickly grabbed the racket that was thrown to her with ease, still in surprise at why Coach Halber wanted her to go up in such an extreme match so soon. Ian seemed so confident that she would not be able to hold her own. Cocking her head to one side, she held the racket loosly in her hand, turning to Ian.
"Uh... what's going on?"

"No time for chatting, or whatever. Let's go make those two regret being put up against us!" Atamia grabbed Adrian's wrist with the iron grip that had made her so impossible all her life, and half dragged the girl to their playing field. "I'll play front. I'm worthless in the back. Just hit anything you know I can't hit, and you'll be fine, 'kay?" She turned to their opponents. "OK, boys, I'm here to kick names and take a**. And no, I didn't get that backwards." She plenty hoped they didn't take this seriously. The fact that she was bred from pretty people somehow made everyone want to believe everything she said.

((still pondering that line 'kick names and take a**' ))
Adrian gave a slight yelp, making sure she didn't drop the golden racket Coach had given her and shrugged her shoulders to Atamia.
"Uh-uh... okay, I guess..."
Can't be too hard, can it?

((Ehhh... gomen nasaii.))
Unlike her punctual self, Mai arrived late for practice, having to stay after class because she made one of her classmates cry during group work. It wasn't her fault he was senstitive, so she hardly saw the reason for her detention. Oh well.
Making her way to the gym, bag slung over her shoulder, and made it in time to hear Adrian got paired up with Atamia. a slight twitch was found on Mai's face, before she opened the door, but as she opened it, her face showed no bother. Mai judged that she'd have to just come up with another plan.
Mai nodded to the coach, knowing she was late and would have to go speak with him. If it hadn't been for her skills in badminton, and her obvious acceptance onto the team, then her teacher probably would've kept her longer. Mai sighed, slightly depressed by the matter, but nonetheless dropped her bag by the bleachers, and jogged up to the coach.
"I'm sorry, Coach Haliber," Mai said, realizing that she was in the middle of the gym, just as a game was about to start, "I won't be late again, I assure you."

((japanese...hai...it's ok mai...))
ATAMIA/ADRIAN VS SLADE/TREY!
Ian almost grabbed Adrian's hand but it was too late. He murmured to himself, "The flash guys! No...Adrian..."
"I haven't told her the intel on the guys yet. That Atamia girl always goes for her instinct. Doesn't she know not to fare against the flash guys? Oh no. What's going to happen now? Especially Slade. Gulp. He...doesn't like us", Ian said to himself as he watched them walk to the courts.
Slade watched the girls walk to the court and grunted, "Hmph! Northerners. All so cocky..."
He got his racket ready and stood in front as Trey stood behind him. Trey chuckled and pointed at Slade, "Stop it! This is just practice geez! Haha geez...let's do this!"
Coach Halber looked at Mai. Something about her, was mysterious yet powerful. He had to test her abilities and big time. He had to know if there was another...of the same. He sighed, "It's ok Mai. But...go over there with Toko. Your going against Lirael and Anna. Your teammate..."
He paused and then...suddenly gave the name as he turned around, "Toko..."
Toko in excitement burst with fire, "OOOOOOH!!! THE FIRE OF LOVE! THE PASSION! I knew it! It was meant to be!! We are the best choice for a doubles!! I won't fail you my princess. My love shall reign over these..."
Toko turned to look at his opponent and jumped up with glee, "Even more beautiful girls!! Aaah!"
He fell down on the floor with stars on his eyes. Reichi shook his head, "Wow Toko, I think you really went too far. Eh heh heh."
"Reichi!", yelled Coach Halber.
"This...will be your court. Goodluck", the coach stated as Reichi walked to his court. He didn't know who he was facing, since the coach didn't yell out another name. He didn't care though, he just wanted the answer to one thing. What he has within him? What it is.
Jass walked towards the other side of the court that Reichi stood. She began to hum, "Hmm hmm la la la. Ooh! I go against you! Yay...let the music begin! Heehee!"
Reichi saw Jass on the otherside and chuckled, "She's...my opponent. Hmm...I guess this is going to be simple then. I think..."
REICHI VS JASS!
Ian watched Mai and Toko. He gasped, "Wh-What's the Coach thinking? Has he lost his mind!? Mai can't play doubles for her life! First he puts a beginner against the flash guys and now this! It's unacceptable. They're going to lose instantly and with Toko hovering over the girls, this is bad. Will Mai really be alright? And what's this!?"
He turns his head towards Reichi, "Reichi...is going against Jass, the mirage? The one girl I warned him about. Well...even though he is a beginner he did beat Ranano and he did almost beat Fate."
11-2! FATE!
"Hmph. I see you've improved. Maybe next time Jet", Fate stated as she walked away from the court. Jet, the student with the goggles on his head, walked away from the court and stood by the wall. He watched the practice game mumbling.
Jet began to sit down. He spoke to himself as he looked at the floor, "I lost that fast. Her...bomb shot really improved. I...man. My glide and boost shot had no effect. She's really good, really good. I don't know who else could beat her. Hmm what's this...Jass is going against some noob?"

"Hmpf! And you're about to find out why!" Atamia swung her racket violently in response to the 'too cocky' comment. "Back starts! Your serve, Adrian!"
~!~
Lirael surveyed their opponents with disdain. "Sa. A jeelous gel an' a pervy lad. Don't sound too ha'd, bu' y'know, ya kin neva be too su're..." She handed the racket to Anna, then used her free arms to hold onto the girl on her back. "Wha's ye take onnem?"
"Prey." The smaller girl didn't speak nearly as much, as she didn't feel comfortable doing so. She gave the boy who had addressed her to be a 'beautiful girl' a stare that would probably freeze his inner flame over. ...And him too. She tied her hair back into a short ponytail, and did so for Lirael as well. It wasn't important, really, for her to have the hair out of her eyes, as she was just doing the running, and Anna guided her around anyway. But they looked to match.
Lirael looked them over. "Ya ri'gh. Gud d'seption."
"Deception. Right. Your English teacher must be so proud."
"D'seption, voice, sa'me thang'."
"No, not really."

(( D: ))
"D-doubles? With...him...?" Mai stuttered, eyes wide. She hung her head, depressed for both aspects of the match. First, she was playing doubles, the one thing she could not get straight. Then, just to make it worse, she was playing on the same team as Toko. Could it get any worse?
Mai raised her head enough to see the girls they were facing, then sweatdropped as Toko fell over, obviously distracted by their looks, or whatever.
Mai looked around for anyone to save her from her doom, but only found Ian, one she didn't much like, who wasn't playing. The other had already been beaten by Fate, which Mai had noticed. Throwing a depressed look at the coach, and Ian, she walked slowly over to the court where Toko had fallen over.
Seeing as they were waiting for Toko to stand up, Mai took another sweep through the gymnasium with her eyes, seeing Reichi playing against the girl with headphones. By himself.
Favouritism, much?
Mai sighed, and kneeled down to tie her shoelace, watching the other two girls carefully out of the corner of her eye. Mai knew, already with confidence all but gone, that they would most definately lose.
Yeah.

Toko stood up with enlightenment looking at Mai. He hovered over to her in a hearty fashion, "Oh my sweetness! We will win this no doubt! Haha! Let's put all our power together ok!"
He stood in front and took his racket by his hands. His grip was already tightened like Mai had seen during their match before. He was serious. He smiled, "Don't let me get in the way ok. But...hopefully we can win! What do you say cuteness?"
1-0! JASS! 1-1! TIE!
Jass and Reichi had begun their match. Reichi served again, the birdie in the air as Jass hits it with momentum listening to music. She begins to hum, "La la la hmm hmm hmm da da da...haha pow!"
She hits the birdie and Reichi runs to get it. Reichi hits the birdie to the right and quickly notices that Jass isn't running, more like rollerblading. She's using her shoes to slide on the floor left and right as she hits the birdie to the left this time. Reichi jumps to get the birdie and manages to hit it.
2-1! REICHI!
"I thought this would be harder. Hmm, it looks like she's playing like a normal person would except she's listening to music and almost rollerblading with her shoes. It's a good skill that gives you speed, but...I don't think it's going to work against me", Reichi commented as he received the point.
Jass just ignored the boy as she continued to hum to her music. Reichi gasped, "Hey don't ignore me!! Aaah!!"
Slade awaited the serve and so did Trey. They both stood still.
Quote: -flashback- H-He's dead. H-H-He's dead.
Quote: -flashback- "That's why", Coach Halber said looking at Fate and then outside the window. "That folder...", Fate responded looking terrified.
Fate stood near the walls of the gym watching Reichi. She thought to herself, "That boy...that folder. So far only Coach Halber and I know of...him."
"I want to beat him", she said staring Reichi down.

(( aw man, everyone gets on in the day time))
Adrian, birdie held loosely in her hand, looked to the court in front of her. Atamia stood in front and then the two boys behind the net. They seemed pretty cocky themselves to be giving someone else a comment. And then they called her a Northerner! Oh no, no no no no. It was on now, whether Adrian knew what she was doing or not.
She gave a nod with her head to Atamia, her short hairs automatically covering her eyes, almost setting her mood as she took a step forward and held the birdie away from her body in one hand, the golden racket behind her.
"Right... oh and just for the record..." She looked up, her eye color slightly brighter, as if attempting to change into a dark red color, though this she did not know as her accent whispered against her breath. "... I'm no Northerner..."
She lifted the birdie up into the air, hitting it hard with her racket as it flew across the playing area, bounced back by one of the boys to return across the net to Atamia.

((Yeh, I was too. Spaniard, Atamia's Adrian's partner, because Mai was late, and got put with Toko by the coach. sweatdrop ))
"R-right..." Mai said, not even residing in a percentage of Toko's confidence. She stood up fully now, holding her racket quite nervously.
Taking a deep breath, Mai focused herself. It was only doubles, right?
Wrong.. also, remember back in middle school....
Mai hit herelf in the head with her racket repeatedly, ridding herself of the flashback that seemed persistant to come.

Slade had quickly hit the birdie without responding. He just snuffed the birdie as he watched Adrian's movement. He wasn't even worried about Atamia while Trey waited behind him moving the opposite direction.
Reichi smashed the birdie forward. Jass quickly slides while humming to the left as she hits the birdie back. Reichi runs with confident to the left as he hits it to the right. Jass smiles as her slide increases and her smash hits the birdie in an odd way. Two pieces of the birdie fly towards Reichi.
Reichi hits one of them as the other one falls to the floor.
2-2! TIE!
He looks at the birdie on the floor. "Wha-What was that? I...don't understand. It seemed like there were two birdies. What?"
Jass chuckled as she continued to hum to herself, "Hmm Hmm la la la."
"The Mirage Technique...", Ian commented watching their match.
MAI/TOKO VS LIRAEL/ANNA!
Toko waited for Mai's serve. He watched both girls on the other side, carefully. He was sweating, he didn't know what to expect.
Coach Halber watched them both examining them. He thought to himself, "I know Adrian and Atamia will make great doubles on Hanari High. We certainly need a doubles, but if we can have another doubles team. It'd be good. I wonder if these guys can pull it off, if they can't I guess it's ok. But what would be the end result? Ho Ho Ho am I ever so vibrant."

((Congratz, Clara~!))
Mai readied herself, concentrating on where to strike. All at once, she served the birdie rapidly, making it barely fly over the net, but not touch, either.
Mai wondered what was so good about these girls. Sure, besides the Coach's ramblings, and Ian's comments, she had heard rumours of their skill, but these two girls looked like pushovers. No offense intended, obviously, but they did. Mai scoffed, and simply just waited for the birdie to be hit back, or not.
