Lerry fell over the railing and fell into the sea overboard. Zeff looked over the railing to see Lerry fall in to the water. I few minutes later Lerry came out of the water and boarded the baratie. Lerry saw Zeff standing above him with his arms cross. “Now lets finish this.” Zeff said as he brought his leg up to take Lerry out with an axe kick. Zeff moved out of the way just in time to see Zeff shatter the floor with his foot. Lerry than brought up his leg and did an axe kick also. Zeff dodged it and Lerry’s heel of his shoe went into the ground. Lerry than swung his other leg around and made contact with Zeff heel.

Zeff had blocked his attack and kick him in the ankle with his peg leg punched him in the stomach and kick Lerry back against the railing. Lerry fell to the ground and coughed into his hand and stood back up. Lerry was now really angry he flipped into the air and smacked Zeff across the face with his foot and made Zeff hit against the railing. Lerry than flipped over the Zeff and tried t knee him in the stomach, but it was blocked by Zeff’s forearm. Zeff pushed him back and kicked Lerry in the chin forcing Lerry into the air, and crashed into the deck ground bouncing onto the wall.

Lerry struggled to push himself up and was shaky. “You ready to call it a quits/” Zeff asked as he walked closer to Lerry. Lerry did a uppercut with his foot and came in contact with Zeff’s chin. Causing Zeff to fall over board. A few minutes late Zeff came out of the water and boarded the baratie with his clothes completely soaked. “You did well are you ready for you dinner now?” Zeff asked as they walked into the baratie and Lerry had his meal. After Lerry had his meal and said his farewells he got into his one man boat and left with is final wave as he headed to the East blue port.

Alex eagerly wanted to learn from Zeff but the Head Chef had made one simple suggestion first. And that was that they clean up the restaurant first. Alex went around and righted tables and turned chairs right-side up. Most of the actual pieces of furniture around the room seemed intact, if a little battered around. Not everything made it of course. There were a great many china plates on the floor that had either been cracked or outright shattered to pieces. But still, after using them for target practice earlier Alex couldn’t bring himself to worry much about them. After all the furniture was up he began picking his way across the room, picking up the broken glasses and plates that lay scattered over the ground. He put all the shards and bites onto a tray and carried to the trash.

After he was done with the initial clean up Alex looked around the now cleaned up room for two people in particular. He finally spotted them sitting off to the side talking quietly to each other. He made his way towards them and as he got close he was able to note that he had spotted the right people. A smile spread across his face, something which was a natural reaction for him, as he stepped up to the two young children, a boy a few years younger than himself and a girl quite a bit younger, “I see you two made it out of this mess okay, how are you feeling?”
“Great, thanks to you. I don’t know what I would have done if you hadn’t helped my litter sister. We got separated when the pirates broke out and I couldn’t get to her. Thank you so much,” the boy proclaimed as he stood to bows his head to Alex.

Alex smiled but shook his head to indicate what he was about to say, “It was no problem really. I wasn’t about to sit back and watch some poor defenseless pair of kids get killed by some rowdy pirates. Besides if I am going to be an Admiral someday I might as well get started on my training as soon as I possibly can. Anyways I just wanted to come and check on you two before I head back with Zeff; I think he has a few more things to show me.”
Both of the children thanked him again graciously as Alex extracted himself and started to make his way back to the kitchen. As he was about to pass through the double swinging doors that would take him to where Zeff had gone he overheard the boy speaking, “Did you hear that? He’s going to be a marine some day. Maybe I should try and join the marines too…”

That last passing comment had plastered a wide goofy grin across Alexander’s face that he couldn’t have wiped off if he wanted to. Still when he made his way up to Zeff the Chef mistook Alexander’s happiness at the boy’s sudden apparent interest in joining the navy for pride in what he had accomplished—which to a certain degree he was proud of.
“Okay kid you were pretty good but don’t go getting all smug on me or I’ll have to rethink my offer to train you in the last of our martial arts moves here at the Bartie. So you ready to get serious again or you wanna keep on smiling that goofie smile?” Zaff said drumming his fingers on a nearby cutting board.

Alexander didn’t bother to explain the situation to Zeff, it wasn’t that important and it probably wouldn’t mean anything to the chef—certainly not what it meant to Alex at any rate. It was best to just apologize for his mistake and that was just what he did, “Im sorry sir. Just excited to finally be able to get out into the world and do something useful. I never realized just how small my previous life had been until I got here sir. You’ll have to excuse me, the past few hours have been a blur and its hard to believe that any of its real. I feel like I’ll wake up at any second and it’ll turn out this has all been just the same childhood dream it feels like I’ve been having for years. But I pray that isn’t the case sire because I would love more than anything to train under you as much as possible.”

As he finished he was almost out of breath but none the less he was smiling at the end, albeit less intensely than he had been a few moments before. Zeff seemed to consider this and then he softened some and patted him on the shoulder, “I understand boy. Sometimes I forget what it was like to be young and foolish and so alive. I love the Bartie, don’t get me wrong, but sometimes I wish I was young enough to still be out there. But its time for your generation to take over—so I might as well send you out there with the best I can give you right?”
Alex nodded furiously and Zeff took him back out to the training center to learn the last of the Bartie Chef’s fighting techniques. He would probably stay around to learn a few cooking recipes but this was the last combat skill he would probably learn here—it was bittersweet in a sense.

”For this move think for a moment about the prime rib, it is one of the best cuts of meat. This technique was derived from that piece of meat. The Prime Cut Kick. A direct kick right into one of the most vital sections of the human body, the stomach. You can probably get the motions for this one. Typically it’s a straight kick but really the placement is more important than the body part. It could be done with the knee and it doesn’t even have to be straight, just powerful right into the center. Now we have a way of showing this to you but it’s a bit unorthodox. Step up and give it a try though,” Zeff said, and after he said this a large pig was wheeled out.
“Is this really okay…?” Alex said looking it up and down, when Zeff assured that it was and that it would be cleaned and not wasted Alex nodded. He readied himself, stretching a little to get back into the rhythm and then let his knee shoot forward into the center of the meat, amazingly he felt it send a shock through the whole of the meet, when he moved back his leg he could tell that he had basically just tenderized the section of the meet.
“Well sonny. All that’s left is for you to hop in the kitchen and help out for some of the injured cooks if you’d like. What do you say boy?”

Stepping on to the floating restaurant he looked around in amazement, this was clearly one of the marvels of the world. A floating restaurant, claimed to have some of the toughest fighters and if that was true he had to learn from them. Walking through the doors he was greeted by the delicious smell of food and watched as many people ate what looked like the most appetizing food he had seen all his life. Most people paid no mind to him, but as he walked into the back every eye was on him, some of the chefs looking away from their food to stare at him. "What are you doing back here boy!" came the loud shout of a strong looking man. He had a peg leg and he wore a very large hat "Well!?" he shouted again, awaiting for an answer. "Um... Well... Uh.... I was looking for a teacher" he said, cowering from the might of the man. "A teacher eh?" the man said as he stroked his moustache "Follow me" the man replied as he began leading Taro to a large room in the back.

As soon as they stepped into the room, the chef turned around and delivered a swift kick aimed right for Taro's head. "Whoa!" he shouted in surprise as he quickly ducked, dodging the kick. The attack continued going and the foot collided with the door, causing it to shake slightly. "That will be your first lesson, the Lethal Kick, it's just a swift kick to the head" Zeff explained as Taro lifted himself back up "Um, alright" Taro replied back looking at where the kick had collided. Raising his leg up he attempted to aim a swift kick at where the head of his opponent might be. Landing the sole of his foot on the wall, the door shook, not as much as when Zeff kicked it, but it shook none the less. "Pretty good" came Zeff's voice as he stood on the other side of the room with his hands crossed across his chest "I think you go it" he said with a smirk.

"Alright, next I'm going to demonstrate the Two Kick Combo" Zeff spoke as he walked over to a nearby wall. On it was a chalk outline of an average sized man, on the head and stomach were two points indicating where to kick. "To begin" he began speaking as he raised his leg into the air delivering a swift kick to the stomach and than to the head in almost an instant. "You need to aim two swift kicks at the stomach and head, when they are kicked in the stomach they will lean forward from the pain giving you an opportunity to hit them in the head. Remember to keep your balance and to do it quickly" Zeff instructed him "Got it?" he asked just to make sure that Taro was paying attention and he wasn't talking for nothing. Taro perked up "Oh, yes sir!" he shouted walking over to the target Zeff had placed on the wall. "Alright" he said getting ready.

Taking a deep breath and both mentally and physically preparing himself he lifted his leg up in the air. Sending a swift kick aimed at the outlines stomach he collided with the target and than tried lifting his foot up, but he couldn't find the strength to lift it any higher. Falling back from losing his balance he frowned at his own failure "Idiot!" came the loud voice of Zeff and than a large pain on his head "Ow!" he yelled as he rubbed the now forming bump on his head "Why'd you hit me!?" Taro yelled out in anger and quickly rising to his feet "If you can't keep your balance on this simple attack how do you plan on mastering the rest of my techniques!?". The question stunned Taro for a few seconds, but soon he regained his composure and gave a slight nod "You're right" he said turning to the outline again "I can do this" he spoke to himself quietly and readied himself for the attack.

Lifting his foot up into the air he prepared himself, knowing he only had a few seconds to remain in this position due to his poor balance. Sending a kick right for the chest it collided with a 'thud'. Than to keep up with the attack he lifted the foot higher and delivered a second blow to the area were the head was. It wasn't as fast as he had seen chef Zeff do it, but he had actually done it and he knew that he could most likely do it again if he were in the heat of battle. Placing his foot back on the ground he first looked at the wall and saw that it was slightly cracked from where he had kicked it, this made him smile. He than turned to look at Zeff and wondered if he had done it the way he wanted him too or if he had to move faster, or maybe kicking faster, it was all up to chef Zeff.
