Rock sat, tight lipped, as his sister and another wolf began at nearly the same time. He used this abeyance to collect his own thoughts on what he would ask the Omnus. Did he even have a question? He felt that he should. Everyone else would, most likely, and he didn't want to be the one quiet soul here. Even if he couldn't come up with a question, he knew that the one-eye'd wolf would find one swimming around in his subconscious thoughts.
His brow furrowed as Jani's questions continued on, a strange barrage against the gifted wolf. This was the most he thought he had ever heard her say, and it nearly drowned out the other wolf's questions. The fact that Rock was closer to Jani than the green wolf probably had something to do with it, paired with the fact that Jani's voice was familiar to him, and the green's was very foreign.
Rock sat up straight; he had his question ready, now to just wait for his turn to come around. Unless Aleu nudged him ahead of her, he would probably be last, being rather soft-spoken in the presence of so many strangers. Or maybe it was just the magic of the night that had him so shy? At home in the Hollow, it was like everyone was your kin or your best friend, so it was hard to gauge if he was actually shy or not.

Var had taken a place next to the adult male, on the opposite side from his sister. The wolves fell silent while Newanti addressed them, but almost immediately two wolves broke out with questions. Var's eyes darted between them and then between the pair and Newanti.
What would the best approach be? Was he looking for strength? Honesty? The latter was rare, but he supposed it happened sometimes, especially if you needed direct answers. Did he need to offer history? The question was one focused on the feelings of the replying wolf, so there had to be some level of a personal answer there. "Honesty," as far as other wolves viewed it. He waited until after their questions were out and answered before he raised his own concerns, in a clear, but not loud voice.
"I came to discover what more I'm supposed to do before I return home."
Once the words were out of his mouth, his mind spun off in a different direction, and he regarded Newanti with a suddenly sharp look. He had this niggling feeling that maybe he was accomplishing that "more" right now. He wasn't sure whether that was a comforting thought or not. What business did he have with a magically blessed wolf?

Jani drew a long and probably the hardest stare anyone had seen from him yet. It wasn't unkind but it was somewhat alarmed; he felt a clear aura of tension in such a tiny body. Still, she was young and she had questions, which he did ask people to come forward with. He just hoped this one wasn't going to be the cause of grave issues in the future.
"This is my home, Jani. How long has it been here? Longer than I've been alive, for sure. This is a spot where the moon allows me to do my power. There could be other places, but this is the one I inherited. My mother lived here once, before..." He paused, looking thoughtfully sad before continuing "she passed away. "I think you know what I am, otherwise you wouldn't be here, now would you? And help any with what?" He knew what she meant, but it wouldn't help to call her out in front of the assembled. He did bother to let her know mentally though, that he was keenly aware of her plans.
Destroying your family is an odd ambition for such a tiny soul, Jani. And though I am not one to stop anyone from righting wrongs, have they really done something to deserve to die? I'm not here to be your moral guide and I'm not one to fiddle with destiny, but vengeance only leads to sadness in the end. It just might take awhile to find it.
Flit's question was odd, but still valid. He had never really had experience with inner demons, but he had heard of others dealing with them. "Inner demons have varied sources. If we are talking about a personality defect, then it's pretty much impossible unless you can change the frame of mind of the particular wolf. If it's an actual demon that has possessed the body, it should be possible to expel them with the right power and direction. They can never one hundred percent mesh with one another...there is always a fracture there that you can use. You just have to find it."
Var's question...well...it was vague. Newanti turned his gaze upon Var and regarded him silently for a moment. "Do you feel obligated to do more than you have already?"

Var lapsed into that thoughtful look again, his eyes moving beyond Newanti. Did he have to do more than he had? He found his companion, he had seen something of the world outside of Aves, and when he returned he would have made himself a real adult and member of his pack. What more was there?
It... what was it? It bothered him like an empty, expanding place in his mind. In the same way Verdandi had when they were apart, before he knew she existed. It suggested that something was yet to come; that there was something missing but attempting to fill a space it couldn't. That was why Verdandi had said she thought they should see Newanti. There was more to them, to Kevarian and this journey outside of Aves, than he had realized before he stepped into the circle. He had a nasty suspicion it had to do with the way he sometimes saw the world.
"I do. There's something more." He fell silent for just a moment as he considered it, his eyes on Newanti's front legs, then added, "I don't know what it is. There's something missing from what I am supposed to..." He met Newanti's eyes, suddenly uncomfortable with the revelation. "Be."

Flit listened to the Omnus' answer carefully. He wasn't really sure if it was an actual demon that was possessing his mate's mind nor the minds of three of his four offspring. So that left with the personality defect. "Is it possible that it can be inherited past the second generation if it is a personality defect?" He wanted to know. There was word that one of his daughters had bore offspring of her own and he wasn't sure if one of them got the defect, too. That frightened him yet it was his own fault for helping create his offspring. Hopefully he might make things right if he did become either a Seer or a Shaman-though a Seer could do more than a Shaman...at least in Flit's eyes and mind.

Rock sat quietly as he listened to the Omnus answer the three wolves questions, though he was most focused on Jani's questions in particular. He knew exactly what she meant of her last inquiry though, and wondered if the Omnus had chosen to disregard it, or if he had simply answered the question by speaking straight into Jani's mind. Either way, Rock had no want to know what the answer was.
As things seemed to quiet down, the pup stood suddenly, a sign of respect which he had picked up from Adieu - there was no reason to sit lazily as one addressed one's elders, she had informed him in her own special way, and with conviction. But he had worked up the nerve now, and that's what drove him to stand and speak up.
There were many questions he wanted to ask. Inquiries of his mother's sanity, his alpha's ability to bear pups to make her mate happy, if Roll would love him forever or grow to hate him as much as the purple pup's brother Stone did. He even thought to ask the Omnus where he really belonged in his pack, but dismissed the question more quickly than any of the other. That was something for him to find out on his own. It had been hard to work out, but finally he had settled on the one he really wanted to ask.
He wanted to know of the ultimate wellbeing of his family. His father seemed at the end of his wits, his mother was driven insane, and beside herself with some unknown grief, and most of his siblings were mentally unstable or physically ill. He and Toki had fled, and he also feared for her future. He didn't dare ask a question of his entire family and what the future held for them in front of Jani, for fear of agitating her into an outburst.
"Was it the right thing to do, to take Toki and run?" he finally asked. Should he have stayed and made a stand, or was it truly the best for both of them? He knew the Omnus would know who Toki was, and even why they ran. If it wasn't all over Rock's face, it was painted very brightly across his mind and thoughts. He feared for his sister though. Would she be alright in the end?

Aleu sat quietly as some of the others asked their questions and the strange wolf turn his turn in answering them. She too had questions, however she hesitated in asking them as Aleu wondered if perhaps some of the others were wondering what she too was wondering. But as more and more questions were asked Aleu found that hers were not yet asked and therefore remained unanswered. Eyes ticked over the other wolves as a few of them asked even more questions or took their turn asking the initial one. Well if she sat here and didn't say anything her questions would never be answered.
After Rock asked his question Aleu decided it was now or never. While there were many questions rolling through her mind one stuck out among all others. It was to her the most important question to ask at this time, it would help her figure out why she, and the others, were here. "Why here, why now and why us?" She questioned the one eyed wolf, curious to finally find out exactly what had drawn this group of wolves to this spot at this time.

Jani sat back and took the answers one by one picking out the ones she liked best and ignoring the rest, she knew it was a rude but- Her ears perked at the sound, the thoughts that weren’t her own. What was this? Listening carefully Jani’s fur flattened against her back as she felt a shiver of control run through her; was he telling her or demanding her to do this? She wanted her family’s destruction like nothing she had ever felt, she couldn’t just easily give it up from a demand of another. She wanted to believe that this could be fixed like she could get her way and also somehow please this powerful calming being. But the more insane part of her rushed forward with brutal control, it wouldn’t be wise to just give her a goal already set at birth in her mind.
It wouldn’t be easy to do and she would just have to work harder for it, maybe not main and kill them so quickly… This powerful being had a point but Jani just couldn’t be so fickle.
Suddenly Jani’s ears perked to Rock’s voice, he had taken their sister away? Is that where they were? Well then good, they made the right choice to leave their pack to stop disgracing her area with their filthy markings and differences.

Derecho sat quietly while the others asked their question - many seemed to have them, or expect this wolf to have all the answers for them, even Aleu had questions - But Derecho was largely a sit and observe type, besides he wasn't all that sure he really wanted to know what in store for his future and he was pretty sure the Omnus would tell them what was required of them while they were here.
nope it was best to simply listen to others answers, and leave the rest up to fate for the moment - besides at the rate others were asking questions anything he could ask would likely be answered anyways.

"Then if you feel there is more, then there likely is. How grand of a thing it is, you might not know. But gut instincts are rarely ever wrong." Newanti gave Var a solemn nod. "Just don't become so obsessed with finding it because you'll either miss it because you were paying attention to something else or you'll have wasted your life looking and never obtain it."
The Omnus let his gaze drift now to the others in the circle, giving them each meaningful eye contact. "That is sound advice for everyone here today, actually. I know why you have all come and while I can aid some of you in completing your destinies....you can't reach it if you are lost in the small details. Look at the big picture."
To Flit's question, he shrugged. "Personality of parents can influence the personality of children, but children are their own person as well. I find it doubtful that a grandparent and a grandchild would have the same major personality flaw and express it the same way."
To Rock, Newanti frowned some and licked his lips in thought, trying to decide how to word his response and if it ought to be said aloud or not. It was sensitive information and Newanti was well aware that Jani was related to Rock; the tension there was unmistakable. There was definitely some emotionally scarring experiences in Rock's mind when Newanti browsed his mind before coming to a conclusion. In the end, privacy won and he spoke directly in the young male's mind. It was right. You were both in danger. Your mother isn't well...the dynamic of your family is unstable. Someday it can be fixed but had you stayed, you might have been consumed by it all. Your sister needed to be away as much as you did.
Aleu, however, brought focus back on the real reason he had been asking questions. He wanted to know what they knew about this whole process. Odds were probably nothing or very little, but at least the question prompted him to get a move on with the ritual tonight. The moon was in perfect position.
"You are here because I called you," he announced matter-of-factly to everyone, even though the question was the she-wolf's. "I knew who you all were before you even set a paw in the direction of my Sacred Oak. You are here because you have a great potential to be something more, but only if you are willing to undergo the work, the pain, and even the misery that comes along with it." He cast the assembled a sobering, very stern face. "And I am serious about that..the work, pain, and misery part. It's not always an easy road. All of you could possibly be a Seer or a Shaman, but it's more than just having the potential."

Kevarian nodded, although Newanti had looked away almost before he had begun, already on to the next wolf. Don't look for it? Var's eyes took on a far away look as his mind wandered to continued contemplation of the suggestion. That was something like how he had found Verdandi. He had spent his youth worrying, visiting the Shrine, and trying to push the concerns away with a single-minded determination. Hunting had been his focus, to the point that his adolescence was spent with very little time for the thinking he did as a pup. The thinking that had calmed his mind and... well, balanced him. Verdandi meeting him was purposeful on her part, but in reality was more of an accident on his. He hadn't know what she was, who she was, until they had happened to pass into the same space. Spirit-directed or not, it wasn't something he was looking for; it was something that had come to him.
'I called you' brought him back to the present, and he fixed his eyes on Newanti. Some of his overwhelming surprise spread over his face. It wasn't the calling that was surprising, not if the wolf was a Shaman or a Seer or both, but what was surprising was that Var had been the one called. Not one of his sisters, but him. The pup who had abandoned hopes of being a spirit-talker long ago. That was... just so weird. Literally. It was fateful. The male couldn't help but wonder how much of a role his discovery of Verdandi played in his being ready to visit Newanti.
At the same time, his stomach roiled with uneasiness. His father, a male he had avoided since taking up the role of a hunter, was a shaman and represented-- to Kevarian-- all things magical. That Quin was a Seer didn't really seem relevant, because he was Var's best friend. It was who he was. Kalain was a figurehead for spirituality in their pack. It didn't help that Var still didn't know where he stood with his father.
If he had the potential, regardless of whether Verdandi or his father were responsible for it, he still had to choose. Verdandi had brought them here, and Var didn't think she'd be too happy with him if he just walked away because he had issues with his father. Struggle was something Var was familiar with, although not on the level it seemed Newanti was inferring. Aves was a secure pack, safe and stable, where he pretty much was provided with what he needed. Overall, Var's struggles had always been internal, until recently. What if his potential could blossom into actual magic? What if it helped him understand and control the way he saw things?
What was the right answer to this?

Flit seemed slightly pleased with the Omnus's response. At least he got a few answers to the many questions that he had. Perhaps he may be able to find the rest after he found his mate and children again...that is if he could find them.
He tilted his head to one side when the Omnus answered the she-wolf's question to the entire party. "So, the dreams I've been having was you telling me to come here?" he asked curiously. "That makes sense." He hoped that he had enough potential to become a Seer. If he didn't this time around then he would continue to come back until either he became a Seer or the Omnus deemed him unworthy of becoming one.

Rock nodded solemnly towards the Omnus, appreciation for keeping his answer silent marked his thoughts now, as well as a peaceful rightness about the things he had so far done with his life.
He sat back down and listened intently as other wolves asked their questions. Was this what the gathering was about? Asking questions and having them answered? Shiva had said there was something more, but it was for him to find out, something within himself that he had to realize on his own. The Omnus would help him with the first steps, she had promised. But it would take patience.
He was awestruck that Newanti had called them all here. How had he known any of them existed? The pup found it strange that the whisperings he had heard before where of the same feelings that Newanti's voice gave him. Was it Newanti giving him these thoughts and sounds, or had he been hearing a different sort of voice in the back of his mind all this time
They would find out soon, he felt. In the mean time, he took solace in the fact that the others had questions every bit as important and necessary to their lives as his own was to his life.

Newanti nodded to Flit slightly to confirm the question, though the dreams weren't entirely of the Omnus' doing. He could debate that if he wanted, but there really wasn't time now.
"Within you all, I sense the ability for great things. You are all blessed with the magic to become a seer or a shaman; I can sense it like you can smell prey on the wind." The Omnus stood and began to pace around them, exiting the circle and moving behind them each, but not looking at them as his eyes were focused forward at nothing. "You can't use it yet because you don't know how...and it's locked away in a form that you couldn't use if you wanted. I can fix it for you...to let you play with it and perhaps find that you are strong enough to build upon it and become something great. A seer or a shaman, capable of magic and strength beyond your dreams."
The Omnus paused, looking up at the moon, and his one eye began to acquire an odd shine to it. A silver glow even. The silvery tree seemed to began to pulse with the same odd light, casting it's glow upon those in the circle.
"If you want to see if it's your time to ascend, I can tell you...but it can be painful in ways you may not have imagined. Do you want that?" He turned to look at those assembled, awaiting an answer.

Rock swallowed hard as he listened to Newanti and took in what he was saying. He knew the decision would be hard for some to accept willingly such a promise for pain, but in the same breath, he wondered which would have no problems saying 'go'. It took him only a moment of thought before he answered for himself.
"I want it..." Rock whispered, with a nod. He had to find out; after coming such a long way, he would have been wasting his time if he turned away now. Rock was willing and ready to follow this through to the end, whatever that may be.
He waited, realizing that the others had to answer first, before this could begin, but he wasn't completely certain at any point. He was, however, certain that he had sealed his fate - at least for this point in time - and he tried his best to keep his small body from shaking with anticipation.
