There were very few moments in her life that could compare to the moment of pure and utter terror that Astra felt now. When the jaws had surrounded her and close out everything else, She thought she was a goner. She screamed, oh hell did she scream, but that didn't do a thing except make her feel even worse. When she had just begun to cry for her mommy, she was suddenly spit back out at the starting point again, shaken (and absolutely petrified) but not harmed. There was some consolation to all this though; at least she was the only one to have been eaten, and it was a very weird feeling to see jericho being swallowed up as well (although this was necessarily a bad thing...). Twice even. Even he couldn't fight off the skitter sharks, huh? This time, she watched the other students travel across the path, taking note of who was getting father then the other. Then, feeling she had a better idea this time, she took off running across the field again.  (( F10, F9, F8, G8, H8, H7, H6, I6, I5, I4, J4. J3, J2, J1))

Sin was horrified by her time in the landshark she refrained from dashing back across the field. For a time she stood a (hopefully) safe distance back observing and frowning as she watched the others. She tried to make mental notes and then eyed the footprints and where others had left off. Finally she felt dry and up to trying again despite watching several of her classmates get swallowed again. With a shudder of revulsion she took steady careful steps. It wasn't until her fifth step that Sin felt hesitant, this was where she was unsure. She might have tried going right instead of left but West's dead end had been that way according to Professor Red.

That was...horrifying to say the least. And he definitely didn't want to have a repeat of that. The thought of ending up inside of another shark gave her the heebie jeebies. So she listened very carefully to Red, tapping her finger on her chin trying to figure out her next path. She was far more careful this time with her crossing, hoping it would pay off. This was insane. She was back at the beginning, along with everyone else. The professor had given hints multiple times, but her mind went blank as she attempted to decipher them. Just another thing she did badly at. Couldn't they do something that..didn't involve student eating sharks? They smelt like fish for Jack's sake! She smelt like fish thanks to them! Gross! Hauling herself up off of the ground again, she hated the idea of having to try and cross the field again. But she wanted to complete this class, even if it required her life---which she was convinced it would.

"Don't go that way! We've established that it's a dead... end..." Red trailed off as Damien sank into the swamp on his 13th step. ((Word Count met! Welcome to gym, thank you for joining us~ also this class still takes place ICly prior to open house/prom.)) The manticore certainly had spunk. Red watch appraisingly as Cady ran across the field, only to fall into a shark on her sixth step. Maybe she should have taken a turn sooner... Sheridan took his first step. Then his second, third, forth, fifth. On his 11th step, he reached the dead end. Then he took his 12th straight into the swamp. West made it five steps before following Cady into the swamp. Red winced. Not even tentacle repellant could save the demon boil from the skitter sharks now. It took Astra 11 steps to reach the dead end, just like Sheridan. And just like Sheridan, she fell into the swamp on her 12th step. Confidently, Sin completed the five solid steps. When she hesitated, Red held her breath. Red let the breath out again as a sigh when Sin fell straight in on her sixth step. Whisper discovered something on her ninth step -- a second dead end! It was too bad that she sank into the swamp on her tenth step though. Just like Whisper, Mei found the second dead end on her ninth step. And just like Whisper, she sank into the swamp on the tenth step. "All right, that's enough." Red called, whistling for the sharks to return to her again. One by one, the students were spat up and onto the bank for the third time. "If this was a real scenario," Red began, "All of you would be dead, reforming somewhere. I want all of you to stop and think about this. Once you have, give it another shot." The teacher gestured, and the sharks faded again out of sight. (( New round, new guesses! ))

It wasn't much of surprise---or rather, as big as a surprise when the skitter shark made it's next appearance. Even less so when the inevitable trip into it's jaws happened. But even though he had a feeling it was coming... He had really hoped it hadn't. But at least he now new that that particular theory was out the window.
Once safely back with the others, for a second time after being spat out; the black dog sat and listened quietly ( making a shrug at the dead comment ). Though the more he listened, the more confused he was. He had tried paying attention to the hints the first time. Unfortunately, the plan he brewed up after listening had led him right into dangers jaws. Literally. But at least he still had another theory planned. Only this time, he stepped onto the field with little less confidence and a terrible feeling in his gut.

Colette once again experienced the feeling of being swallowed up and could now say it was an equally terrible feeling no matter if you were being consumed by a chasm or a skitter-shark. Being spat up by the creature was both a relief and a pain. She was free, but on the other hand, she had to try it all over again.
Stepping onto the field, Colette jogged on what she hoped was a path to victory. The second time is a nice try, right? Her morale wasn't completely broken yet. She could do this and win some sort of individuality in Professor Red's eyes!

Oh Jack not again. Whisper was back at the beginning, and the second time being in the shark was not any better then the first. She was truly hoping that that path was the right one, but clearly not. She looked out at the field, trying to remember the routes the others had taken. There were so many, and they had all fallen prey to the sharks in different places. She put her hands behind her head and rocked back and forth on her heels. She traced out paths with her eyes, debating on which would be the next one to take. "Third times the charm right? Well...here's hoping..." For the third time Whisper attempted to cross the field, being very cautious as to where she stepped. She was crossing her fingers hoping to high Jack that she would not become shark bait again.

OH JACK! He had barely had time to think the swear, let alone speak it, before he found himself eaten by that infernal shark once again. He was really starting to hate sharks! And then he was back on the bank, crouching on his hands and knees and gasping for breath. Oh jack, if it was possible that was even more foul than the first time! That was absolutely disgusting, was that a piece of fish that had been stuck in that thing's teeth? EWW! Sheridan shot a glare at the retreating shark, a glare he might have preferred to send Professor Red's direction though he didn't dare. A snort and he was back on his feet, gaze shooting across the field. That path had not worked, and it was now clear to him that was entirely the wrong direction. Once more, Jericho found himself getting devoured whole by a shark. And once again he was a little rattled upon finding himself at the starting point again. Taking a breath, he shook his head to himself while watching some of the others for a moment or so. Narrowing his eyes, he switched up his course, running in order to try and make this quick.

He only barely flinched this time. Was West getting used to his own personal tentacled shark transportation system or was he simply numb? He didn't even know himself. There was only one way to find out. He hurried back across the swamp, following in Colette, Sheridan and Jericho's footsteps for a while, then abruptly turning and heading off in a direction that was most likely filled with skitter-sharks. Regardless of if this was a real scenario or not, Astra was sure she would be just as horrified, if not more. It was not a comforting thought, and once she had been spat out by the skitter monster she didn't move, choosing to watch the other students cross before making her own move again, running across the field and hoping that the skitter sharks were not finding her very tasty at this point

Red openly winced as Tybalt fell into the swamp on his eleventh step. "Dead end. Again. Seriously, you guys should stop going that way, you're not making any progress." The werewolf sighed, wondering if she should allow Blue to go have his fun and drown some of them. It's not like anyone would miss a couple students, right...? Her red eyes shifted and settled on Colette, watching as the Reaper jogged her way out onto the field. The professor couldn't help but to lean forward intently as the girl made her way further into the field until the eleventh step, where she fell in. Whelp. At least she made progress. As careful as she was, it didn't help Whisper's cause when she fell in with the first step. Red winced in sympathy. Sheridan stepped up to bat next. Red watched appraisingly as he picked his route, one step after another. Nine, ten, eleven! Eleven! He made it past the eleventh step! Maybe that number wasn't too bad after all. Red started to grow excited at the thought of seeing a student pass, however her expectations were shattered when Sheridan fell in on the 15th step. She sighed, shaking her head. "So close," she said to no one in particular, "But probably shouldn't have gone that direction towards the end..." The werewolf professor found herself leaning forward with interest as Jericho passed the dreaded 11th step, however she slumped back as he sank on the 15th step. "Too far," she sighed, "You two almost found one of the paths..." To Red's eyes, West couldn't get enough of the sharks. He went right back into one on his 5th step. At least he was getting the hang of sensing them! While she may have made the wrong impression earlier by cheating, Red nearly jumped up and cheered as Astra took her 15th step and didn't sink. The teacher refrained and held herself in check when the fairy fell in on the 16th step instead. "All right, that's enough!" Red called as she stood up, snapping her fingers. One by one, the shark'd students were spat back out upon land. "You lot are VERY close. You're only going to get one more shot. Hop to it."(( Please post your mini profiles when you post! This is your LAST CHANCE to get across the field! Also shark-graphics will be edited in later~ ))

They had one more chance. Once on firm ground again, Jericho stared out at the field, biting his lower lip. He had to get this right. Taking in a deep breath, he ran out, following the starting part of his previous path. Though instead of trying to zigzag for the second half, the dragon ran straight. ((Blade kuroda))

Damien was all but ready to kick himself for making such a folly, thinking he was still running the right path when the others went up an alternate route. He took a moment to center himself and get ready for the final shot at this. as he took a deep breath, rolled the kinks out of his shoulders and trying the recently trodden path, before making a sharp turn into a different direction.
