"Well, you tried," the assistant said a bit too cheerfully as Caelius made his escape. Velda just stared down at her Mentos mournfully but not without relief. She didn't really want some woman having Caelius' children, even though the program was under her division. And despite Henry's acidic words, the sun hunter didn't seem to hate her, he'd even given her candy. Which meant that he still liked her, right? "Oh stop moping, it would never work out anyways, especially since you have that habit of spacing out like a moron every time you try to talk to him. Not to mention the fact that you look like a street urchin half the time, rather than a grown woman. Now, hold still and let me fix your hair."

Jess cackled boisterously before with a soft snort and wheeze settled back down. Even her laugh was terrible.
"What if I like following the terrible example?" She asked while waggling her eyebrows. Clearly just saying it to ******** with him. Hmm... another person showed up she didn't recognize. Frowning sternly at the response she seemed to get out of Dave. What? Am I invisible? It hadn't occurred to her he was staring at the booze and not her breasts.
"Sir!" She harped up loudly and with a sharp edge of annoyance.

Dave gave her a blank look, he'd heard of the Life leader but he wasn't quite familiar enough to know about her desire for souvenirs. She had certainly seemed distractable the times he'd run into her in the past. "I.. we are meant to give her a souvenir?" He didn't like how dangerous she made it sound /not/ to. "I didn't even think to.."
He blinked and glanced back at Jess, completely oblivious to her assumption of /where/ he was still casting glances now and then. At his weary point in life, the call of alcohol was much more potent than anything else. "Eh?" he said, raising a brow at her. "Oh. This is.." he either hadn't run into her name or couldn't recall it. And lady-with-bourbon would likely offend. He waved a hand vaguely and just hoped Heidi would fill the silence with her name.

At the sudden loud voice she merely turned a blank stare toward Jess. What was her problem? "Heidi...and..well..not exactly. Just if she asks for a souvenir give her, I don't know, a shiny rock or something." She shrugged, looking down at the bottle. "Maybe if I say this is a gift I won't get in trouble for having this. I can't remember if this is allowed..." She looked up to watch Caelius run by out of a restroom not far down the hall. "Welp, I'm going to guess Velda and Howard are in there."

Damien was also at a loss to explain what Pepper meant by the "bright eyed and busy tails". Perhaps she was talking about some sort of monster that she had fought? But he had at least found out the kids name, Aaron, and Jared had finally set them down. "We weren't bickering" he then responded as he fixed up his jacket. "We were...." Celestine offered her own opinion. Not that anyone could hear her other then Damien.
"...getting to know one another." He finished. The comment about acting like a proper sun hunter caught his attention, and he glanced over the others jacket. He had seen this hunter about before, he was just having trouble placing where, and when. He let his comment slide though, and when Jared made an apology, he just waved his hand in dismissal. "It's nothing to apoligse about. We're got more important things to be concerned about then little scuffles in a hallway."
Yes, it was true. They would all be called out tomorrow, so there was no point in trying to make enemies with someone. Best let bygones be bygones.

"Hello Heidi" She spoke with a mildly annoyed tone as Dave still seemed to cast glances now and then. "I'm Jess and this... well. This scarred swine is Dave." She gestured at him with a swish of her hand.
She had just assumed that Heidi knew he was ogling her. He wasn't even discreet or all about it. She gave him a scolding glare.
"Will you quit ogling her breasts sir? I tried to be discreet but now it's just ridiculous." She was still damn certain Dave was up to no good.

Dave looked somewhat warily around the corridor. "Well. You won't get in trouble for having it if its empty, everyone's far too obsessed with the mission tommorow to be picky anyway. I'd say if you have it, its fair game. No one's going to complain about a bit of a festive mood when it might be the last day to be in that kind of mood." he grudgingly tore his gaze off of the bottle to look down the corridor to Cael, he looked like he was in a hurry, must have been bad news.
You shouldna drink yae know. It clouds perceptions, like its clouding yours right now. Dave mentally tried to shush his weapon, why did she always have to be so damn reasonable? You'll need all yer wits tommorow, no a hangover. He tried to ignore her only for Jess to speak up and leave him speechless.
He blinked and looked at her in sheer surprise. "Her...what?" he looked back to the bourbon. "I.. I /was not/." he crossed his arms like a petulant child. "I don't know what sort of crass ignoble person you take me for, I was ogling her /booze/."

At Jess' accusation that Dave was staring at her breasts Heidi stopped and stared at Jess, her expression unreadable. "...Is that a joke?" The woman, despite being a full grown adult, was quite flat-chested and very thin. Seriously, someone feed her a damn sandwich already. "I should...probably go." So he was staring at her booze, huh? She hugged it a little tighter as if to say 'no, mine!' "I have a lot of work to do."

"No. Not a joke." She meant it, Heidi's size all the more reason why it bothered Jess so damn much that Dave seemed to be staring there. Hmph at his excuse though. She wasn't entirely sure she could believe him.
"Oh come now. You know drinking is bad for you sir. If one more piece falls off you, you're done." She scolded Dave testingly. One way or another she was going to make him regret staring.

Dave rolled his eyes. "Fiine okay okay. Drinking is bad. Between you and Argyll I swear." he gave Heidi a smile at least and a nod. "Okay, just remember if you need somewhere to hide that contraband, I'm in that dorm three doors on the right." he snickered. "Nice meeting you and ..sorry about my friend's misunderstanding." he gave Jess as serious a look as he could manage.

"Nah, I'll probably just give it to Howard later when I give Velda the candy I got for her." Heidi chuckled, already starting to back away toward her own room. "It was good meeting you two. Rest up, okay? We've got a lot to do tomorrow. Big deal ad all that."
And then she was gone. Hurrying back to her room as quickly as she could.

A nail file had been pulled out, and she was working on her left pointer when she saw Heidi fly past her door. She'd only seen Heidi once today, but it was enough to warrant a little quality time. "YO. HEIDI!" She whistled in a high pitched tone, calling the girl back. "Get your fine a** in here for a second, come say hi to me."

Doh! Busted! Heidi stopped mid-step when she heard a familiar voice call out her name, looking torn. Em was demanding her presence...and she was a nice enough girl just..but..work!
"..Why do people keep making comments on the figure I don't have." She muttered quietly to herself, sighing heavily and taking a couple steps back enough to poke her head in. "Hi, Em." There. She did it. Could she go back to her room now? Please?

Oh, so she was playing hard to get? Em was good at hard to get. She loved that game! She hopped out of bed and pocketted her nail file, before reaching over and wrapping one arm around Heidi's little waist. "Stop being such a bummer and come in here, give me a few minutes. You can spare a few minutes for me, can't you baby?" She led Heidi into the room, but left the door open - making it clear she wasn't trying to seduce her. After gesturing for Heidi to sit down, Em opened up her bag and started pulling out nail polish colors.
"Pick one." She off-handedly remarked, while she continued plucking them all out and lining them up on the little side-desk.

Oh no..oh no oh no oh no oh no! Em was coming her way oh god her arm was outstretched in her direction OH GOD-- "B..but..." Heidi squeaked as she was led into the room, clutching the bottle of bourbon like it was some kind of lifeline. She was muttering almost incoherently as she was set down on Heidi's bed, something about 'Liam' and 'notes' and 'dolphins' and 'but I have work to do I have to rewrite everything and-' "Pick one.""Blue." She said instinctively, not even sure what she was picking until she actually looked at what Em was holding. "...Is that one sparkly..?"
