Amaree nodded to Rellick and flicked her tail. Was he getting rid of her? She tucked her tail between her legs and followed Areli out of the cave. "Where do you think we should hunt?" She asked, not really knowing. She figured it would be farther out than usual because the prey they fed on knew where lions stayed. She walked stealthily through the brush, figuring she had gotten her innate sense of silence from Coeurl, her mother. As her eyes scanned the dark horizon, Amaree couldn't help but think of Rellick. Was he sleeping? What about that Jay fellow? What was he doing? She shook her head and kept looking.

"We'll go out into the grass lands, hopefully find us some roaming Gazelle." she said, and waited until they where far enough away from the den. "Something is strange about that Jay prince guy. And Rell seems to be acting very weird around him too." The adult said.

'His happiness seems a little... forced...' Brooke admitted, nodding in agreement to what Areli had just said. She thought back to the lion, find a mental wall instinctively throwing itself up at the thought of this new lion. This hadn't happened for so long... why with Jayvyn?

Amaree nodded. "He seemed almost... jealous maybe... that Jay was talking to Jadera. Doesn't that seem a little... odd... for a King?" Amaree asked, shaking her head. She hated stuff like this. She lay her ears back. This could be a bad bad sign. She felt a little sick in her stomach and realized that she herself was almost a little jealous of this Jay guy. One thing was definitely for sure... she didn't like him. At all.

"I don't like him." she said, as if reading Amaree's mind. "Something is VERY strange about him... its almost... scary. It makes me wonder... but I--" she began, then cut herself off before she said anything she shouldn't.

Amaree looked at her best friend. "I know... I know exactly what you mean.." Amaree looked straight ahead and spotted a group of Gazelle. She squatted down. "What side do you want me to take?" She asked Areli, as if she had been hunting her whole life. She just figured that way the way to go about it. She felt her paws soften on the earth, almost meld into it, so that she almost felt like a part of it. That was how she was so silent, she thought, trying to keep her mind on the problem at hand.

Areli looked at Amaree. "First... have you ever gone on a hunt before?" she whispered, croutching down, blending in with the grasses, even her flakes going down, their tips tuching the ground, feeling for vibrations.

Amaree shook her head, but did exactly as Areli did. "I never got to go. My mom did all the hunting when she was around... otherwise I just kind of snacked off of what dad was eating..." Amaree whispered. She let her flakes touch the ground. It felt odd, like a bit of a tingling feeling. She looked to Areli. "What's the tingle in my flakes?" She wondered if it was important.

She crouched down lower and smirked. "Amaree my dear, you are feeling the vibrations in the ground, of our prey." she said, letting her eyes scan the Gazelle. Her eyes landed on a large one. "See that large one, we are going to get that one. I'm going to run in, in a moment. I'm going to chaise it down, what I need you to do, is scare the others off, except maybe one, a smaller one, and if you can, pounce on it. As soon as I run in, they will start running, so get the others away, but, if you don't think you can get a beast of your own, come help me get the big one." she said, as she scratched her claws into the ground, also helping her feel it.

Jay rolled over onto his back, legs sticking up into the air. He couldn't get comfortable here, the rocks and sticks dug into his back. The Dark Prince huffed, ears twitching back and forth.
He was strangely homesick. In the middle of the night he was regretting his decision to leave Silver Dawn for Scarlet Shadows. All out of the stupid idea to meet females...Well he'd met the females, Jade included but had no excitement in being around them. Maybe he'd gotten a bit over his head here...

'How 'bout me and Amaree take another one and you do the big one?' Brooke muttered, revelling in the familiar tingling of her flakes. She sank into backdrop, like a tan and blue shadow, watching and waiting for any movement. Any at all.

Amaree nodded at Areli. "Brooke and I will go in from the left and right and scare off the others, and pick off a straggler on the end, alright? You just worry about that big fat one there in the middle, and Brooke and I will try for another." Amaree shifted her weight then looked at Brooke. "You wanna take left or right? We'll go in and isolate the big one, moving the herd off, and then we'll pick off one of the smaller slower ones, sound good?" Amaree asked, feeling like a pro after having given hunting so much thought. It helped that now she and Areli were the same size and were both powerful enough. ((Amaree grew!!!))

Brooke grinned and gave Amaree a wink. 'You don't worry 'bout me, 'Ree, I know what I'm doing, despite what how young I am.' She watched the gazelle. There was a tension crackling in the air that they seemed to have started picking up. 'You just do your thing, I got your back.'

[I know... Shes very perty too]
Areli nodded. "Now... go!" she said, as she bound of, running, getting faster by the second. She wove around in almost a semi circle, before coming up right behind the large beast. She extended her claws, as she jumped into the air, and grabbing the beast by its sholder blades. It strugled, but she held on. She bit down into its neck, hoping to kill it, but it kept struggling, kept kicking out. She prayed she wouldn't be kicked.

Brooke took off at the sound of Areli's signal, and cut in beside the gazelle Areli had pinpointed, cutting it away from the rest of the herd. 'Come on, Rhee!' She shouted over the dull thudding of frantic hooves and the swirl of dust that clouded the air. 'Let's go get that one!' She indicated, with a quick jerk of her head, to a well-fed but weak looking youngster.
