Vain finally figured out how to block the base, changing the focus so he could find the scents. Two where close by, Marks and Alex's by the approaxamy. Then there was Skittles. He ignored them focusing instead on the closest ones. Two...well that wasn't bad it was just a guessing game now. Fifty, fifty and he was chosing number two. It was the stronger of the two, not as faded. "It's funny, I go to push back my hair behind my ears and they gone." Skittles reached out playing with the golden ear tips. "They are up here, and they can twitch." That part was actually rather cool.

Marks pretended to buff his fingernails on his jacket - in reality, he was getting bored. Hell, how long was this going to take? Would it help if he shook Vain, maybe got something to fall into place? Probably not. Great. More waiting.
Ah yes, twitching. There was something undeniably cute about twitching ears - even on Kingsley. The sheer adorability was, per usual, much more apparent on Oliver - and as Skittles reeked of 'cute', blaring like a siren here. "Mmm," Alex agreed, "Just remember to brush your tail... tails."

A mesh to hold the scent to his, he rather not walk into traffic, he shook himself opening his eyes. "Well, it a fifty fifty chance I found him. Besides your scents, there was two more from your world." His fingers rested in front of him feeling the pulse that lead off. "This way," he called and started walking off. He did not want to remained meshed for long.
"They twitch to," Skittles commented giving the three a twitch before strolling after Vain. "Two? How many people from your world are there?" He queried eagerly bouncing from his spot behind the demon.

"Too many," Marks yawned, stretching before following behind Vain, giving Skittles no further acknowledgement.
Alex actually had to think about it for a moment, "At least... nine, that I know of," he decided. "And somehow I doubt we're the only ones - or that we're the last."

Skittles stepped closer to Vain as Marks followed behind them. He tilted his head, looking up at Vain for a moment before it clicked. "You meshed didn't you. He said that was dangerous and you where forbidden to try with out training." The fox chewed his lip worried. "Couldn't you just track?" "And walk into traffic? I rather not, it's just a light mesh nothing permanent Kitten don't worry so much." What sort of cosmic power randomly plucked personal from other world? And for what purpose? He gave a chuckle, "Be ironic if I found someone new."

If there was one thing Marks hated more than lending a helping hand it was - actually, he hated quite a few things more than that... but one of them was ambiguity. "Mesh?" he submitted to ask. He was loath to admit ignorance, but when he really, really wanted to know... you never learned anything by not asking.
Alex frowned again - he wasn't sure what exactly 'mesh' meant, but it clearly wasn't something safe. And Skittles and Vain had so little to do with this that it was... upsetting that either of them should put themselves at any sort of risk. He decided not to push it, knowing himself well enough to know that it wouldn't help his temperament.

"Do you know the different between soul and spirit?" He questioned before going on. "Spirit animates our bodies everyone has the same spirit, except a few exceptions, Skittles for example has a different animating spirit or what we call base. Soul is us, our personalities, beliefs, etc. every one of them is different. Together they are an aura that is commonly left behind. I can track others down by following this aura, but I didn't want to walk in traffic so I meshed the one I'm tracking to my own. Nothing more." He kept moving on ahead
"Except it's dangerous, the longer aura are connected the more possibility of one changing or engulfing the other." Skittles chirped, the scarlet overwhelm the gold of his eyes from worriment. "He told you not to try anything like this."

Alex was inclined to zoom in on this new subject and pick it apart for hours. But that was only because he'd become challenged with existence of late, and it'd be rude and likely embarassing to dump those issues on other people.
It still bothered him on several levels that Vain had done something so apparently dangerous for no good reason (other than to help them out - and that wasn't a particularly good excuse, he hardly knew them or their predicament). But, what was done was done - so all that was left was admonishment, only... "Thank you for your troubles, Vain," Alex said, clearly concerned, if not a little frenetic, "But are you sure that was entirely necessary?"
"Yeah, too much exposure to Three Eyes can't be good for anybody's health," Marks rolled his eyes. "Just take a glance at Rob." Or Oliver. Crazies.
The nature of the soul and spirit were, oddly enough, two things of great interest to Marks. Seeing as his corporeal form was something of a surprise - a welcome surprise, granted, but one he was not entirely sure he believed. Thus, a growing paranoia dwelt in his heart, that it would be all to easy for his spirit to once more be detached from his body, and then... and then...

"Hush kitten, what done is done and if he truely did not want me to experiment he would not have explained meshing. It won't take long now and it is weak mesh nothing quite so dangerous as you are thinking." He admolished.
The demon fingers twitched, held out slighly at his side. "We are closer and I do not see or feel that Alex is a threat, nor the thread I am following..it is a little dark but not radiating dark evil powers." Vain would not have followed it if it had. That much soot would stain his soul and he was not wishing to carry someone elses smut.
Skittles gave a small sound, quieting down. not having heart to voice anymore objections. His ears drooped though, and his eyes where now just bright red. "I still don't like it." He muttered, following behind the other.

Marks laughed, a little harshly. "Hey, junk food's not evil, but it's still bad for you," he pointed out in amusement.
Meanwhile, Alex was concerned with a little something else besides Vain's apparent disregard for his own safety (though he supposed that came with the profession), "Dark? How do you mean?" A little more insight to whatever it was that had played with Kingsley's head never hurt...

"Trama can cause a tint to appear, it darkens the aura but it would have to be fairly continuness. Pain, various things really. Inhuman acts murder, rape etc turn into smutt and cover a person aura. Kind of like slime." Vain gave a odd shudder.
"Cookies are good for stopping mood swings. Chocolate to." Skittles chirped. He missed, wait had missed chocolate something terrible. He could now enjoy it again.

Theoretically, he should be getting some practice in with the whole aura perception bit... But ever since Gehenna and that strange, unreasonably intoxicating fluxuation of power, he'd been loath to do any such thing. The only thing he could remember that could really taint an aura back home had been soul-eating... and that made a good deal of sense, where Kingsley came in. Poor, poor Kingsley... But pity wasn't productive. Erase such thoughts and move on to restoration - "That's gross," he said, covering his concerns with cheer that wasn't false, but wasn't quite natural either.
"Three Eyes is gross," Marks drawled out, raising an eyebrow at Skittles. Speaking of mood swings...

"Of course brooding, I need no one types tend to have darker aura as well. They tend to give of an spiky pulse almost to gaurd and warn off others from getting into their space and when touch feel like an electrical shock, mild but still unpleasant." Vain replied midly looking back at Marks. "It should not be much longer. A few more blocks. Please no bickering children."
Skittles covered his mouth with a giggle, ignoring or missing the arch eyebrow in his direction as he bounced along. "I thought we where looking for Kinglsely not Three eyes." He blinked suddenly quizical. He could see where the unicorn would get such a name but still that wasn't really called for.

Alex nodded attentively as Vain explained - it would be an odd day when the bird passed up supernatural knowledge. "You've done a fair job of summing up Kingsley there," he smiled slightly - one of those expressions tinged with long, sometimes excruciating personal experience.
"There's plenty of Kingsleys in the world," Marks shrugged, "Not so many of 'em are freaks. 'Three Eyes' helps narrow it down." Not a true explanation, no, just a justification. Because he'd be damned the day he was nice to that twice-damned Salubri. Besides - it wasn't like he was the one who'd started it.
"You should hear the things Kingsley calls Marks," Alex added in vague amusement. The way those two bickered... no, more like fought. 'Bicker' didn't quite cover the intense animosity there, though on some days... some days, it seemed almost like they could just be bantering, could just be playing at words, teasing, talking... but Kingsley wasn't the forgiving type, not these days. And he'd taken Marks' 'transgressions' to heart...
