Ophiuchus I never saw the point in beam flags... and for the record, >20 79[G] Gundams were constructed. Well they're just for show but think about flying past a ship fast at close range. You could probable gut a ship's underbelly from fore to aft doing that. The model on the Neue Ziel has a small beam saber on it's back for just that purpose. A beam flag is bigger, so think about that as a tactic. And is it possible by V Gundam VSBR were standard issue for mobile suits?

Eh, I would *really* doubt it, though several Victory era MS do carry VSBR or similar technologies...the V2(assault) can carry a pair of them hip-mounted. Most likely it's deemed too expensive for mass production, and rather pointless since normal beam weaponry is like a one hit kill anyways(aside from beam shields/rotors, of course). I mean, there's no reason to give your average pilots expensive tools they won't be able to effectively use, right?
And as for beam flags...it's technology because we can! The concept makes me giggle, that's why I like them.
I sincerely doubt a beam flag emitter would be any great asset in close combat.

Well between the 2 titans Wingzero And Freedom in my opinion.
Looking at the strength of the mobile Suits in combat gundam seed would win the fight.
1)Heero and Kira battle using beam weapons. The wingzsero needs to wait a while until the target is locked on , Kira on the other hand can use the OS system to lock on and fire all the weapons of the Freedom. 2)Flying skill's: Kira and Heero can both fly very good in a mobile suit , but if it came to battling in the air the freedom would win , if the wingzero lost a leg heero needed to compensate this manually , while Kira just needed to calibrate the OS , like we saw in episode 50 of Gundam Seed. 3)Beam Saber Skill's: Heero and Kira are very good with beam sabers, the wingzero is very fast with dealing attacks to the Freedom , but Kira can go to Seed Mode and attack way faster then the wingzero. Kira can calculate where exactly he is going to hit in a combat so he can slice of the arms of the wingzero , but i think heero wont let this happone. 4)Wingzero and Freedom are both very fast , The wingzero can transform into a jet and the freedom cant , yet that doesnt mean the wingzero can win by this transformation.
Its most likely that the Freedom will win , they are even in power and strength , but dont forget the Freedom can still dock with the "Meteor Unit"

Its most likely that the Freedom will win , they are even in power and strength , but dont forget the Freedom can still dock with the "Meteor Unit" Totally NOT for those reasons. Beam weaponry. Okay, Wing Zero has the dual buster rifle. Freedom has railcannons AND plasma cannons. BIGGER area spread damage. In addition the Wing Zero's gun has a good 2-3 second WAITING time where the weapon is locked on and not firing. Unless a mobile suit has NO thrusters, someone will get out of the way. The Freedom however has no actual charge time. It just unfolds and fires. In flight, you must declare if it's space or air, as both have a different effect on mobile suit piloting. For example, a critical part of MS mobility are its limbs. Space maneuverability is accomplished by AMBAC, which is where they use the arms and legs to maneuver and not use up propellent. The loss of a limb means a thruster must be used to compensate. And unless you can re-program your OS, it means you'll have to constantly use the same thrusters on BOTH sides to stay equal. In beam saber combat, the wing zero is incredibly slow. Freedom generally flies past a unit and limbs fall off. You don't even SEE that much in the way of movement. No matter how "good" Heero is, he would NOT be able to counter a super coordinator. Mobility... okay, Zero can turn into a bird... So? It's now a LONG target instead of a TALL target. A shitty fact about that mobile suit is reguardless of what mode it's in, it uses the exact same amount of thrusters. So can go at the exact same speed. So it's going at the same speed as normal. It presents no more a problem than normal. It'll get owned in one of the above ways.

It presents no more a problem than normal. It'll get owned in one of the above ways. Except that transforming alters the thruster positions to a certain extent, and could infact hypothetically allow for greater acceleration. I figure mostly the only reasons to have a bird style MA mode is that and for reentry/airborne maneuvering, as the wings could be used as proper control/lifting surfaces. And to look "cool", of course. I've always thought wing/Zero to be a bad design because it relies entirely on a single longrange weapon with a large charge time and very limited ammunition. Entirely being that once that's gone/avoided, it essentially has to rely on beam sabre combat. I guess this is why Epyon was such a good enemy for it, since epyon ONLY had melee weapons. Comparing the two MS, it is really impossible to say which has better acceleration, as Wing Zero was randomly fast/slow dependant on pilot, battlefield conditions, and what the producers wanted to happen, to say, Wing Zero is purely a plot device that is as powerful/weak as it needs to be while its' enemies just sit there and get vaporized for no reason at all(even the highly advenced, superagile mobile dolls didn't seem to, you know, dodge all that often.). To a certain extent, this is true for Freedom, but Freedom is a more rounded suit with a veriety of ranged and melee weapons, which is dockable with a powerful support system. If I had to classify the two, I'd call Wing Zero a long range fire support unit, and Freedom an aerospace superioity unit(and justice an antitank/personel superiority unit). Anyways, you could argue Coordinators versus Zero system until you were blue in the face, but you wouldn't get anywhere because there's really no comparison between AC and CE. Also, Kira seemed to go SEED only when angry, depressed, bored, or when it was convient to advance the plot, and the Zero system seemed most useful as a plot device, and to cause people to go insane. Now if you wanted a newtype in, if they had any proper ultimate NT unit(say...hi-Nu or Quin Mantha), then you could easily declare the victor as the one with funnels, the ability to predict/read enemy movements, and of course, opress their opponents with sheer force of will. Even if they lost, they'd still haunt you. wink Also, I'm amused that someone would attempt dismemberment of a MS anyways. If you have the skill to dismember your enemy, it would be more effective to go for a quick cockpit kill. Naturally, someone who is a pacifist would go for the dismemberment, of course(which both Kira and Heero were at some point). EDIT: oh, one note. Wing Zero is reportedly somewhat more than 1/10th(8 versus 71 metric tons) the weight of Freedom(magical alloy and all that). The largest impact that would have is that it would be incredibly easy to maneuver with minimal thrust(everything is AC seems to run on some magical "vernier fuel" anyways, so requiring less for more is always a plus), and that it would have far less weight to throw around as an asset in melee combat. Of course, this magical everything-resistant alloy is better than phase shift in that it allows wing zero to block things like non-hero beam sabres with his bare hands, and laugh off large beam and missile barrages.

We could always raise the question of Wing vs. the Zeta vs. the Airburst or Airmaster Gundam from Gundam X. Those being the 3 mobile suit Gundams that can transform. I've also thought of what would be the effect of Wing Gundam or Wing Zero loosing it's shield, which it does need to some extent for areodynamics.

The main Wing VS Zeta thing comes from them both being IDENTICAL in Gundam Battle Assault.

I mean If Zeta is piloted by Camille, I believe it is clear that Camille will ******** who ever he is fighting over, but then, he ******** himself over....

stonedteen500 tHE x108 FREEDOME from gundam seed is the best. lots of fire power Uhhh, you mean the ZGMF-X10A Freedom? You need to check your spelling AND your sources. -_-;; Zane of Death between zero because of the devil beam cannon Uhhh... what the heck do you mean by that? Unless you mean "deadly", Wing Zero was never really designed to be "devilish." That would be more like describing Deathscythe.

state your reasons for backing a unit that can be so easily destroyed by anything outside of its own series.
