Carol sighed deeply trying to keep her eyes open, but heck, she DID fall asleep in the forest, she was tired. A yawn forced its way out and she blinked back the tears that followed. She streched slightly. No one seemed to be moving in the village.....well not that she could see anyways....perhaps it wouldnt be so bad just sleeping on the ground. Then she would make her way to the small lake she saw in the forest and clean up some. Well at least it sounded good for the moment.
She funally gave into the fight and collapsed backwards and closed her eyes slowly drifting off.

Hisakata carried the tired Xue-Lien back to the tea house. It smelt good in the teahouse, and Hisakata was glad to live there. She hastily locked the door behind her and tuck Xue-Lien in her bed. Hisakata smiled but almost instantly fell asleep right next to Xue-Lien.

_____________________________________________________ ______|___|| NEW DAY: Spring 11 Begins! ||___|______
Location: Astora Village Season: Spring 11 Time: Sunrise/Early Morning Weather: Very humid, slightly stormy and cloudy weather
The imported wooden clock beside the governess's bed began ringing its petite chime cheerfully as the sun rose over the horizon. After continual harping from the mechanical device, Chiaku finally lifted her head slowly from the bed. Seeing that the day was still early, she promptly rearranged the cotton blankets and fell back to sleep.

Hisakata's eyes fluttered open to see Xue-Lien bouncing on the bed. She waved at Hisakata and smiled ear to ear. "Mmph, hi Xue-Lien." She peeked out the window and stretched. "So do you want something to eat?" She inquired as she got dressed. Xue-Lien nodded enthusiastically. "Uh huh!" She sat down on the bed, silent for a few seconds. "Don't forget to say please Xue-Lien." Hisakata noted shaking her finger at Xue-Lien. Xue-Lien stared at the bed, smiling.

Carey brushed her unruly hair from her eyes as the sun crept up over the horizon. The trees were beginning to thin, and she caught glimpses of houses. Finally...somewhere to rest, she thought. Maybe the people here are friendly. I sure hope so, 'cuz it ain't like I can go back.
She adjusted the little pack on her back, taking a gulp of water from her hipflask. Thank the Lord for that stream, or I may not have made it here, she mused. She stepped forward, pushing branches and tall bushes out of her way so as to enable her easier passage to the village.
It was still early, and she wasn't sure if anybody in the village was awake. Making her way up a stone path, she glimpsed several interesting buildings; an inn, a teahouse and...was that a ranch? She squinted; the lack of sleep had started to blur her vision. Yes, it was a ranch. Interestin'....well, they always said I was good with the animals....maybe I'll try for a job there, later on, when I know a bit more about this place.
She sighted a large house that stood out from the rest. Ah, she thought, well, that has to be the house of somebody important. Probably a Mayor, or Governor, or somethin'. She made her way up to the house, and lifted a hand to knock, but then thought better. They're probably not up yet...I'll wait a while. Don't want to make a bad impression. She settled herself down on the stairs, removing her pack from her shoulders. She fumbled around in it for a while, before removing a stick of wood and a small pocket knife. No time like the present to finish this, I guess. In the stick, four little holes had been cut, and it was half hollowed out.
Setting to work on the flute, Carey stopped a moment, and looked up at the lightening sky, smiled very faintly, and continued whittling away at the stick.

Carol stirred slightly, the ground was VERY uncomfortable to sleep on. She rolled on her side slightly before sitting up right. She brought two sleepy eyes up to the sky, It looked dangerously close to rain. "Oh no..." she murmered and stood up quickly. She took quick glances around the village noting where the hosptial was (where she met the leafy headed boy) and then the large house (where she met the child with one wing) "The inn..." she thought aloud and walked down the road looking for the place she had found once before.

After a few more minutes passed, Chiaku finally rose from her disheveled bed, grumbling audible protests. Months without exercise had left her physically unfit, and now her muscles ached from hours of stomping and running around the Falsin Forest.
"The mail, Lady Chiaku," her servant announced humbly as he presented a thin pile of sealed letters.
"Thanks, Mr. Schmidt," the governess replied as she stifled a yawn. "Do a favor for me, please... Go find Sir Toshihiko and see if he will meet with me today. I think I have many appointments to see incoming immigrants to the village, but I would like to speak to him."

Carol finnally found her way to the inn and went to enter but paused. She must have been a mess, would they yell at her for entering dirty? She hoped not, but she did need what was left of her suppiles, and she HAD left them in the inn. Reluctently she entered and asked in a soft whispher as not to wake anyone. "Is anyone already up?" as she did so she slowly made her way to the area that she had left her bag. She must have had at least ONE apple left....

As she whittled away at the flute, Carey gazed around the village from her perch on the steps of the grand house. It was quite small, with only a few houses in sight, and some basic buildings like an Inn, a hospital, and that ranch she had seen earlier. She was interested in that ranch. If they would accept her here, she was seriously considering entering for a job. She just hoped that they needed help.
Just then, voices were audible from inside the house. Carey couldn't make out what they were saying, but she did distinguish that there was a male voice and a female voice. Glancing up at the sky again, she noticed that it had grown lighter. Unfortunately though, the chances of rain looked more now. She usually liked the rain, but not when she was caught in it without any shelter.
She shoved the knife back into her pack but kept the flute in her hand - At least this'll show 'em I'm good for somethin', she thought. She lifted her hand and knocked firmly on the door, three short raps. As she waited, she absently whistled a little tune, directed to nobody in particular. It was an old song that she had known she was very small, and when the flute was done she knew how to play it on that.

DS awoke with a start as a crash below her echoed upstairs. Startled, she looked around. It wasn't her own room, but Linnea's, and she was seated in the rocking chair she'd moved into the corner to watch her daughter. Now, as she gazed at the bed, she found it to be empty.
In a matter of moments she had gotten to the bottom of the stairs. "Linnea?"
"Mama?"
The blue faeling looked up from underneath one of the tables. A trail of mud led from there to the front door, and one of her shoes was left behind in the mess. Clutched in the girl's hand was another stone, covered in dirt.
"Linnea..." Sighing, DS knelt down. At least it seemed she was feeling better, but what a mess. And just before she would have to open the house too. "Next time, make sure you wipe your feet on the mat outside. That's what it's there for. Okay?"
Linnea nodded wordlessly.
"Are you okay?"
Another nod, this one equally emotionless.
"How about a bath?"
That question was awarded with a smile and a far more eager nod.
"Mmkay. Let's go then, before it's time to open."

Hisakata patted Xue-Lien on the head. "THough I usually would tell you that you need to eat something healthier, I'll let you have some cookies... But!" Hisakata smiled and put an arm around Xue-Lien. Xue-Lien looked confuse. "But what? She asked. "You have to help me make them. ANd Xue-Lien, next time say please." Hisakata walked out of the bedroom and into the kitchen making sure XUe-Lien was following. "Good manners helps gain respect, and you don't want to be hated do you?" Hisakata noted. "Cheer up, I'm sure we have a good day ahead of us..."

Lienna awoke and felt her whole body aching from the strange sleeping position. She was still sitting on the chair, where she had arranged all of her new medical possessions. Strange thing...hadn't she planned to go out ?
The young woman sighed and shook her head slightly, as she went to get ready to face the world. She took a cold shower, as she usually does, and spent some time in front of the mirror asking herself who she actually was. A doctor ? A nurse ? A woman who didn't know anyone in this whole damn town ?
As a child she had dreamt about this occupation. Respected by everybody, helping wherever and whenever she was needed. And now she had even her own hospital and nothing was going on. She sighed as she dressed casually, but still pretty and made her way out into town. Probably there would be someone worth to meet out there.

Chiaku SPECIAL EVENT for Faevan!
Hmm? What is Shin Daiko doing? It seems that he's looking at something outside. surprised
Shin Daiko asks, "Where do birds come from?"

Faevan paused mid bite, looking at Shin. Her gaze fluttered to the window, catching the early morning singers gracing her windowsill. For a moment, a flash of mischeif crossed her features, and she pondered telling Shin that birds came from eggs. But reason got the better of her, and she didn't wish to create a new hatred for her nephew. After swallowing a sip of water, she looked at Shin seriously. "Ask your Papa, he's much smarter than I am." Her lips twitched slightly as she looked over at Dio. Shin frowned a bit, wondering wht Faevan couldn't tell him. But he took her advice and looked at his Papa with big green eyes."Huh? What?" Dio muttered, looking up at Faevan. "Shin asked you where birds came from." Faevan explained with a chuckle. Dio was obviously in his own world, and she was in too high of spirits to worry about it. "Oh...from eggs." He explained matter of factly, going back to his breakfast. "Eggs?!? From eggs?!?" Shin's eyes went wide."Dio!" Faevan scowled. "Don't listen to him, Shin. He's a silly old man." Shin looked relieved, and settled down again. "So where do they really come from?" Shin asked, eager to hear the real answer. So much for the truth. Faevan sighed inwardly. Ah well, I've never been good at it anways. She settled herself more comfortable in her chair. "Shin, the birds come from the trees." "The trees?" Shin made a funny face. "How can trees make birds?""Well, once, long ago, before there were any people, there were trees. And the trees shared the earth with all the animals that walked the earth. Now the animals talked with the grass and the rocks and the flowers and the grass, and they kept each other company. However,t he trees were so tall, they couldn't hear the animals, no matter how loud they called to eachother, and eventually the animals stopped trying and ignored them." "That's not very nice." Shin stated matter of factly, accentuating his statement with a nod of his head, shich set his hair rustling."No," Faevan agreed, "it's not. But it wasn't their fault. They couldn't reach that high, so we can't blame them. But the trees were still sad, and they wished and wished for company. And one night, while the oldest of all the trees was dreaming, he dreamt of a little creature that would sit on his shoulder and tell him stories and sing him songs. This creature was small, but it had wings instead of legs, so it could fly up to the tree tops and not be afraid of falling. And suddenly, the old tree was woken by a sweet melody, and lo and behold, the creature he had dreamed of sat right there on his shoulder, asking him to wake and talk to it! And so, to this day, the birds stay close to the trees, singing to them to show their gratitude that they have been given life. And to show their love for their creations, the trees feed and protect the birds and provide food for them." Shin sat wide eyed for a moment before speaking again. "So the birds will like me too, right Auntie faeFae? Because I'm like a tree?""They just might." Faevan smiled. Why don't you go ask them?" Taking that as a dismissal from breakfast, Shin practically launched himself out of his seat and ran out the door, chasing down the birds loudly outside the window."I haven't heard that tale in quite a long time." Dio mused, collecting his empty plates and handing them to Faevan. "Honestly, I'm suprised I rememeber it at all. That's an old, old tale." She smiled, taking the plates from Dio. "Dio, why don't you go rest. I can watch Shin today. I'll just be tending the farm. He seems to enjoy helping, and he's quite good at it." She smiled, but her eyes showed concern for the elderly rancher.

After assigning various tasks to the servants of the house, Chiaku glanced at the clock, rubbing her temple as though she could predict an oncoming headache.
"Oh, and please allow Momo to sleep this morning," she said, addressing Mr. Schmidt. "Tell her she doesn't need to do her studies for today. I would like to spend some time with her later."
As soon as she was finished delivering commands, Chiaku departed the manor, walking to the teahouse and hot springs of Astora Village.
"Hmmm...I think this is where...two of them lived," she murmurred to herself, looking over the building.
Standing at the threshold of the teahouse, she called, "Hello! Is anyone available?"
