Virgil squirmed inside the scorpion's giant pincer. As he fell from the creature's grasp, he lifted himself off the gorund slowly. "So then...it's a real scorpion vs. a fake scorpion, huh? Well then, let's have some fun!" Bringing his sword high above his head, Virgil rushed at the beast. Suddenly, he brought the sword crashing down into one of its left legs, slicing into it a bit shallow. Unfortunately, the poison didn't seem to come off of the blade just yet.

[^_^ You're the one that wanted to be killed in a spectacular style. Oh. And he's immune to poison. >3]
The scorpion didn't so much as slow down. Using his pincers as a club, he swung it around and smashed Virgil in the ribs. The sheer force of weight behind the blow was likely enough to break some ribs. The scorpion scuttled forward towards the area where Virgil landed, intent on finishing this quickly. The crowd, for their part, had been dead silent the moment the scorpion came out. They had never expected this beast to show its face today. All were waiting and watching silently as the man before them struggled for his life.

Virgil slowly stood to his feet form the last blow. Several of his ribs were broken and his left arm was bleeding badly. In a rush of maybe madness, he lifted his sword up one lst time before the crowd. He loved fighting and the prices that came along with it. Bringing the sword down, he blew away the dust aorund his feet. He jumped as high as he could in the air, and came crashing down on top of the scorpion's head. "Live free, die well!" That was his final shout to the people in the stands as his last attack connected.

Almost like a human would swat a fly, the scorpion raised a pincer and knocked Virgil from his head. His beady little eyes shone in malicious anger as his large appendage crushed the humans body. The crowd was completely silent. Before the body had even hit the ground, a shimmering carried the scorpion away to its hideout. Swarms of white mages rushed towards Virgils body. But the shaking heads made it pretty clear that the mangled mess was not breathing. The crowd roared its approval. It was the greatest honor to die during battle. The military soldiers in the crowd snapped to attention to honor a fellow warrior. Hidden mostly from view, Esildo smiled contentedly. He'd have to deal with the normal repurcussions of a death in the arena. But it was nothing he hadn't dealt with before. This was -- after all -- a very dangerous sport. Since there had been no fourth contestant -- and the third was dead -- it reverted back to that summoner's turn. Esildo looked around. "Dythnix Stoneheart! Please take the arena! Dythnix Stoneheart! Please take the arena!"
[Not bothering with damage. You're just dead. ^_^]

Aesor, having been at the coliseum, begins thinking twice about running head first into a battle. Something tells him that his ability to absorb magic won't help him much against an angry scorpion. "If only there were some magic level up potion," Aesor thought to himself. Aesor looked back at the mangled heap of flesh lying in the center of the arena before bowing his head in shame of his won weakness, walked to the exit, and, upon looking up for a moment, noticed a big, muscular man. A thought suddenly occurred to him. "I wonder how he got to be like that? I bet he probably started just like me!" Aesor went to fill out an application to become a part-time gladiator.
OOC: If any of you experienced veterans strongly recommend that I not try this, please tell me.

Aesor stepped into the registration office, taking notice of the name plate on the desk. "Taluneha, the tournament. I'm interested." Aesor, unsure of what to expect, positioned his hand close to his sword. "And don't tell me you don't allow Swords of Liberty members. Your bald head doesn't look that thick." Aesor unsheathed his blade, watching the light play across its razor sharp edge.
