((My god, I am so sorry. If anyone needs to know why I was gone so long, pm me.))
Aeria let out a shaky breath, every hair on her body standing on end as she lay in the den. She closed her eyes tight and tried to focus on what was happening inside of her body instead of what was going on beyond the entrance to the den. She felt guilty, being in that state while so many changes were occurring in her pack. She should be out there standing by Gizmo.
A sharp pain in her abdomen forced the thoughts from her head as her muscles tensed. Aeria growled at the sensation through clenched teeth, clawing at the ground in an attempt to stand up. She wanted to get Gizmo, or Lera, or someone who knew what was going on. Um, help! she finally barked, going still as the pain began to subside. Ah, maybe it was all over.

(( Dora luff! *cling* you're back!!! you wouldn't believe how fast I was pushed into the guild xD;; )) Gizmo's ears twitched backwards, the young adult male turning his head to gaze over his shoulder at the den. Was his beloved mate okay? He gave a small whine, tail moving to curl between his legs as he took a small step back and regaurded the entrance to the cave.
She seemed to be upset about something, and if that was the case then his place was in there with her, not out here, even though things were tense. He gave the others an apologetic look and slipped into the den, poking his head in first and gazing down.
He could hear the movement of his mate inside and as he crawled down into the main chamber he let out a small whimper. Aeria 'kay? He tilted his head and blinked golden eyes, waiting for them to get used to the dark.

((Kiiiiiiim! *glomp* xD))
Aeria's tail wagged as Gizmo appeared and she sat up halfway. I'm okay, Gizmo, I just had the strangest feeling in my belly. She smiled reassuringly at her mate before yelping again.
The pain was back, a little bit worse this time. She lay back down and panted heavily, staring up at the other wolf. Gizmo, what's happening?

(( *glomped* heart )) He noted the wag of her tail with a cheerful smile, his own tail copying the action as he slid down and moved to lie next to her, pressing his nose briefly into her neck fur and inhaling her rich, earthy scent. Maybe pups move? Gizmo questioned lightly, not quite sure what happened to the little unborn creatures. Surely they wouldn't just lie still...they were alive weren't they? Oh, this was all just so confusing.
However it seemed that the pups weren't going to stop moving any time soon and if it was causing his best friend distress then he had to do something. He snuggled a little closer and moved to press a pink nose against her stomach before whispering quietly, puppies rest now, no hurt mummy. Perhaps they would hear him and understand.
At Aeria's question however he raised his head and pressed his muzzle lightly against hers in a wolfish type kiss. Me not no, does it hurt very much? His goldens orbs were filled with worry, what if something was wrong? If he lost Aeria and the puppies then he would have nothing else to live for.

((Your Cait is gorgeous! x3 Awww, Gizzie's so sweet!))
The cramping in her stomach faded once more as Gizmo soothed the unborn pups inside of her with his voice. She sighed and licked at his face, smothering him with kisses. It hurts quite a bit... but I'm okay. As long as you're here, I'm fine.
She craned her neck to peek at her abdomen, her ears perking forward. Is it really time? Gizmo, I don't think I'm ready. I don't know the first thing about raising puppies, I'm going to be the worst mother ever. She whimpered and lay her head back down, filled with dread. The dread was soon replaced by that strange pain, though.
Aeria panted again and stretched out in an attempt to alleviate her discomfort. Her legs flexed as her side rose and fell rapidly. Something was definitely going to happen, and soon...

(( Thanks, she grew today n_n she's lurvely. *fluffs Aeria* poor girl! )) He smiled softly at her, shuffling back to give her a little more space. It seemed now that nothing existed otuside of this den, no one was more important than Aeria and their puppies. It made his heart swell with joy when he thought about how wonderful his life had become. Aeria had been the first friendly face he had ever seen and they had stuck together through good and bad times.
He licked one of her ears and gave a small huff, wishing there was something to do to take her pain away. He would never truly understand the miracle of puppies or the pain in which the female was going through, but he was going to try.
Puppies just need love. Gizmo spoke quietly remembering his own loveless puphood when with his mother. All ever need...Aeria have lots so she be best mama ever. He had faith in her abilities, knew that the pups they would raise would be the most well loved and cared for wolves ever. He wanted to be a father that his children could look up to. He hoped they would see him as such anyway.
He shifted once more, settling upon the earth and falling quiet, Aeria needed to relax now, that was the most important thing for her, and he'd make sure she wasn't disturbed during this joyous event.

Aeria smiled, Gizmo's kind words taking the edge off of the pain. She stood up and turned in a small circle before lying down again, trying to find a more comfortable position. Gizmo, I think it's time.
((Puppies now?! xD))

(( Woo~ I'm sure there are two excited people who'd say yes to that question - not counting you or me of course! xD )) Time...it was time? His heart gave a little jump inside of his chest as he shifted too, positioning his body to block off a good deal of the entrance. Aeria want Gizmo stay? He had seen how fiesty and protective Lera had been of her own youngsters and wasn't sure whether Aeria would want the same thing.
Either way if he was outside or in he would make sure no one got in to disturb her. It was time for him to act brave, time for him to protect those he loved.

Yes, I want you to stay, Gizmo. Aeria smiled up at her mate, full of trust. They're as much your puppies as they are mine, after all. You should be the first to meet them.
As her body began another contraction, she closed her eyes and willed herself to remain calm. This was it...

(( sure! n__n )) He listened to her, ears drawn forwards and tail thumping against the earth beneath him. His heart was beating fast with excitment and nervousness as he awaited her answer, and when she spoke it was what he had so been wanting to hear.
He gave a small yip - the type he used to give when he was a pup - though a little deeper, and shifted once more, his back brushing against the top of the entrance and soiling his fur with crumbled dirt. No one was to get in and disturb them, no one.
With a low whine he settled once more, soothing her as much as he could with his presence and the occasional word of comfort.
It would soon be over and in no time at all they would be parents!
Gizmo was more than excited.

With Gizmo lovingly guarding her and their unborn puppies, Aeria felt safe and confident during the birthing. One by one the pups entered the world, tiny bundles of wolf with their ears and eyes closed tight.
Exhausted from the process, Aeria's eyelids drooped low as she looked at the litter. Oh Gizmo, they're beautiful.

(( wheee! Now I hope I got the puppies in the right order, I wanted to keep it the same as when Rei posted them. )) His golden eyes had been glazed over the entire time, every muscle in his body tense or twitching from excitement. Bringing puppies into the world was not a particularly peaceful event but it was one that he would never forget. He was glad he had been there with her, able to share her experience and not leave her alone.
Then when Aeria spoke he knew it was over, and after watching not one or two...but four beautiful pups come into the world he dared to come a little closer, brushing up against his mate and gazing down at their four squirming bodies. His heart felt like it was in his mouth, until it fell trembling back down into his chest. They were beautiful!
For a moment he couldn't speak and then finally he released a sighing breath and turned to nuzzle the new mother affectionately. Gizmo ne'er seen pups more prettier.
He turned his head downwards to gaze upon each one, pressing his nose first to a pale brown little pup. Their first born and a pretty female. She showed traces of darker brown along her spine, but for now in her early days she appeared to be a little minature of her mother.

His smile curved upwards fondly as he spied the other one lying close by, the second born and eldest son. He was a small white scrap of a thing too, looking more like a rodent than any wolf he had ever seen. There was something cute about the stubby nose, and tiny paws and tail that made them all the more gorgeous however. This white pup had not gone without his mother's imprint however, for on his fur were blotches of dark brown that could be seen upon Aeria's face.

His eyes trailed next to the third born pup who was wriggling more frantically than the others, obviously trying to get its fair share of food. Gizmo chuckled and nudged it into place with his pink nose, a low, affectionate whuff in his throat. This one had a curious pattern marring its fur, a mix of dark chocolate and fudge coloured markings which blurred into one another. Beautiful.

Then last but not least his eyes travelled to the youngest of the group, his heart growing warm upon seeing it. The pup was not too small however and he doubted anyone would have guessed that he was the last born. His markings were fawny brown, with a pale stripe along his back and a deeper almost orange hue along his tiny nose.

Beautiful...one daughter and three sons. This was more than he could have ever asked for. He turned once more to gaze into the eyes of his mate, nodding once more.
Perfect... Was all he could say.

((Oh, they're soooo cute! Looks like the right order to me. x) Puppieeees...))
Aeria bathed the newborn pups with her tounge, inhaling their scent as she assured that each was clean, dry and warm. They resisted her efforts and tried to inch towards her belly, hungry for a first meal. Being born made one ravenous for food, it seemed. She laughed lightly and helped push them along with her nose.
Gizmo, I love them she declared as the puppies began to feed. The males had enormous appetites, while the female was more gentle about her methods of getting fed. She sighed and closed her eyes, listening to the tiny sounds they were making.

(( wheee! heart )) Gizmo nodded in full agreement to her declaration, for within his heart swelled a love so powerful that it felt like it might burst. Then moving a little closer, pads moving against the floor he nuzzled Aeria once more, tail beating at the ground. He had never imagined that he could feel so good, so happy and whole! The feeling was something strange and new but he adored it and never wanted it to leave.
Gizmo happy, so so happy. His voice sounded a little scratchy as he spoke as he lowered his nose to sniff at each of them once more. Each little pup wriggling around and trying to feed. They smelt new and fresh and perfect.
Aeria have idea for names? They had never really spoken about the names they would call their children. Everything had happened so quickly, and it seemed strange to give identities to beings he couldn't see. However now they were here he felt as if he needed to call them something other than pup or first born.

((Too many grunnies. o_o))
I'm happy too, Gizmo. We're a family, can you believe it? The word was foreign to Aeria but it felt right. They were a family now, she and Gizmo and their puppies. She smiled at him once more before turning her eyes back to the new litter.
I haven't thought about it at all, I suppose I thought we would name them once we met them... She looked over each of them, but nothing came to mind just yet. What do you think?
