Jess shrugged. "I don't know. Just come lay down with me, I'll be fine." In all honesty, she was just feeling sort of lonely. It was her newest hormonally induced mood swing and she was very reluctant to have Peter leave for fear he might never return.

Peter smiled, kicked off his shoes, and allowed himself entrance into the bed. "Better?" he asked, resting a hand on the bump of Jess's stomach that was his baby girl.

Jess nodded. "Yes, much better." She curled up next to him, placing her hand on top of his and nuzzling into his shirt. "You're never going to leave us, right?" It wsa the paranois question of the day, which Jess had been asking more and more frequently, despite the fact that she was usually the one to leave him.

Peter laced his fingers through Jess's and shook his head emphatically. "Never. I couldn't. What's gotten into you?"

Jess gave him one of those pouty, puppy dog looks and shrugged. "I don't know. I just feel all lonely and self-conscious and stuff. I mean look at my stomach. It's gotten a lot bigger in the past few days." It was true. Though still rather small for someone as far along as she was, her abdomen had a much more pronounced curve than it did when she had been admitted into the hospital wing. She had charmed her robes to stretch more so she didn't need to buy the maternity set from Madam Malkin's, but it was still obvious even to others that she wasn't just getting a little chubby. "I don't want you to think I'm not pretty enough for you anymore."

"Jess..." Peter sighed. "You don't need to think about that. You're the prettiest girl in Hogwarts--possibly in the U.K. And you having Guenevire Lillith isn't going to change that. At all." It was entirely true, about her beauty. Jess had the kind of prettiness that made even Matt look twice.

Jess sighed. "You're so sweet to me. Gwen is lucky to have you." She leaned over and kissed him, feeling the aforementioned baby moving around inside her.

Peter smiled. Or rather, he smiled a little wider. "I'm lucky to have you." He kissed his...fiancee...and set his head on the pillow contentedly. "Are you tired?"

Jess nodded. "A little. I've been tired a lot lately." She rubbed her stomach gently, pressing lightly against the squirming baby. "It's hard being pregnant, you know."

"Very. But I try my best." Jess was playing the martyr here so much it hurt. But at least it worked. She moved in as close to him as she could, provided that her stomach was blocking her a bit.

Jess stuttered. "Well o-of course it is. Whose could it be?" She said it as though it was the most obvious thing in the world, though in her mind she was running through her list of hookups again, making sure she hadn't gone all the way with anyone else. "I'm just saying, if I could pick any bloke in the world to have a baby with, it would be you." Well...almost. There were some really wicked hot Slytherins in the year above her, but he didn't need to know that.
