Yeah, I was gonna slim off all the ones that weren't in some way related to BHotR, but I got tired of cutting them all out. Regardless, I had fun. (And there were about 10 more I had listed that I cut.)

HAHA guys those games are hilarious! XD I loled
And on the point of Zombies, my one friend chooses a crossbow loaded with an arrow attached back to the bow so you can just get it back again. Although speed would definitely be a problem, and you would have to be careful not to get any of the zombie blood on yourself...
I still prefer weaponry like swords and such, even if they mean being closer to your opponent....

Poor Yumichan OBVIOUSLY hasn't read The Zombie Survival Guide. My loadout is simple enough; hatchet on the belt, .35-caliber pistol on my other hip, and .30-06 rifle with scope for the good stuff. Your friend isn't exactly the wisest when it comes to the Apocalypse it seems. S/He could definitely use that book, because that weapon simply shouts FAIL. You take too long to reel it in, the line snaps, the crossbow jams, you get the blood all over you, the arrow gets caught on its way back, the arrow gets lodged in your target (OR WORSE, gets lodged in the target and IT DOESN'T DIE), the arrow gets lodged in another surface.... there are a lot of ways for things to go wrong with a weapon like that, not to mention its only special attribute (and also its greatest weakness) is that it only has one shot that you must retrieve manually or by mechanical device attached to the crossbow. It's just not a smart choice.

HEY I actually HAVE read it. Thankyouverymuch. I find guns to be just too illogical, so heavy with all the ammo and such, hard to get, hard to shoot (it's actually a lot easier to get swords), I'm tiny, so it would be hard to load myself up with tons of ammo and guns.
besides, I'm diabetic so in the apocalypse I would actually die, but for story reasons we'll just pretend here
I can't believe you would insult me enough to say I haven't read it! Anyone knows it's important literature *shakes head* *cries*
; D
And zomg yeah! We had a huge argument about it over fries one day. I just let it go, because he gets grumpy when I argue with him ;D

On the contrary Blackbird, the crossbow is a good weapon for the fact that it has decent range and fires reletively silent, but true its drawbacks keep it from making it as a main weapon but it is still a good sidearm.
For my zombie plan I plan on using Minnesota's greatest natural resource, lakes(yes I consider it a resource). Up in Lake Superior there is a chain of islands known as the Apostle Islands, and one of those islands is the aptly named Devil's Island. Sheer cliffs all around, the whole island sits anywhere between ten and thirty feet above the water line save for one small lakefront that measures twenty feet wide and also lined by cliffs. With the perimeter easily defended I can focus alot of time into survival. Devil's island lies near enough to the shipping lanes to act as the settlement area for the lighthouse workers on another island close by, there are a total of 38 concrete and mortar building constructed and furnished for the men but there are only two workers at a time stationed there(one manning the lighthouse while the other rests). That covers living area. The waters surrounding Devil's Island are also some of the most plentiful when it comes to fish population. So fishing gear covers food. Oh and there are fresh water pools that form on the flat rock outcroppings, so mixed with rain I am set for drinking water. As for the bad weather issue the island comes equipped with four fully stocked storm shelters.

CadetNewb To be honest, I've heard of reports from that battle at Fallujah where lots of the dead insurgents were found with headshots. It was on the news once too; they launched a full investigation because they thought our soldiers were executing them. Turned out everyone was mounting scopes and whatnot on the rifles; since those folks only show their heads....well, you know the rest. It's really accurate and far reaching! What I'm made to understand is that this was actually the result of the ACOG scope being fielded. With minor magnification, shots to the head became a lot easier. Although you could just as easily do it with the iron sights on the M16. M16s have always been built to be very, very accurate. Automatic is useless no matter who you are or who you're fighting unless you're about three feet away from them. Any decent military force that fields automatic rifles only does so because their troops are trained to fire semi until absolutely necessary, since automatic fire at any range greater than about four fails on epic scales. That said, automatic would be better for a foot soldier than three-round burst. Also worth noting, though, is the fact that SWAT, HRT, and their kind all use burst or single no matter what the circumstance. Swords would probably not be a very effective anti-zombie weapon unless you knew how to use them. There are a few reasons for this. Number one is that decapitating is surprisingly difficult. Have you ever done any sword-play, especially with a living opponent? Zombies are different, but they're still moving. Number two is you'll be panicked by this point, since they're about to rip you apart. Furthermore, the blood might well get on you and you might get infected, which would be useless. I would support the use of an AK or an M16A4, ideally with a short range scope. For survival... ah, heck, just kill all the zombies you run into. And swords are pretty heavy too. xd They might get stuck as well. I wouldn't even use a machete like they suggest - firepower would be far more efficient, and if the zombies are that close you're basically dead anyway.

Mr. Blackbird Lore Harvest Moon: Life on Saratar (You can play as a Drathonian farmer too!)
Playing as a Drathonian.... When I first joined Battle Hymn, I asked Kai if I could have a character that was NOT a Terran. The said character, who would interact with Cibo, would have many similarities in appearance with Drathonians and, just as importantly, differences as well. The reason why I even considered this was simple: to put into perspective what we call xenophobia. The hate/fear of what is different. Terrans absolutely hate Drathonians, and I thought it would offer a deeper perspective into whatnot. The reason I gave is a little shallow, but I'm not going to elaborate how deep it can go unitl someone starts talking! Kai said he'd look into it after I got some experience under my belt, but still, discussion is the lifeblood of the republic! Now, I'm discussing it with you folks! I simply want your opinions on this idea. _____________ On a side note...about witches; if you walk up to them very slowly, they start to look up at you with those red glowing eyes that even the Helghast envy. As the theory goes, as long as you do not 1) touch 2) fire a gun nearby 3) make (any other) noises or 4) make eye contact, you'll be fine. The developer's made sure that they 'feel' realistic, in that you can't just crouch walk past them easily. They LOOK at you. Add that with the creepy music, crying, and red light (they emit red light) and you have noobs crapping themselves and startling the witch! I recommend you do witch hunting SLOWLY! Don't be afraid to cap a few of the lesser one's. She won't bother, so long as you're out of the LOS (line of sight). Well, at least, that's what they say....

Now don't misunderstand: I approve and encourage a properly utilized crossbow, especially those new ones with the smaller bodies: they make good replacements when lacking a pistol (which reminds me that I need to edit my previous statement: I would only use a rifle knowing that my location has been safeguarded as much as possible; my primary choice would be the MP5K, stock and ACOG scope included). They're beautiful pieces of equipment; however, the design yumi's friend proposed is asking for its user to suffer a horrific and painful death.
I can honestly state that as a vet (having played since the game's initial release) that is a false statement. If you're within a specific range, she WILL come after you if you give her enough time.
Fortunately, some of us more experienced players have found a glitch, appropriately named "Hugging," that takes care of her easily. Makes the Cr0wn3d achievement a lot easier too. So she's never really a problem unless someone screws up (which is common enough in the world of Left4Dead). Don't listen to that nonsense. Lights off, crouched, and stationary, she will STILL chase your a** down. It's happened far too often for me to assume otherwise.

Oh wow. I often noticed the witches would stop crying and start looking at you with those glowing eyes, and the others (we're all noobs of course) had several close calls where they would back off after making direct eye contact and live. Still, I'll take your word; your a vet, and we're probably humanizing a whole bunch of bump mapping and killing/scaring algorithms!
Still, what do you guys think of the 'not-Terran-or-Drathonian' idea?

It would require an entirely separate race or a cross-breed, the latter of which I condemn entirely. As for a a separate race, I discourage the idea because it was not included as one of the original three species listed; ultimately, though, if Kai said yes, I would support the decision.

My original intent was to eventually have the Hymn universe be mostly user generated content, and not just what I had initially provided. While yes, it does need my stamp of approval, I'm willing to look at just about anything someone can come up with to see how it fits into our universe.
On the original three races, We need to come up with a lot of stuff for the Altresians, They're an interesting race and I feel bad that they remain so undeveloped.

For this next chapter, perhaps you should make the Altresians have a more prominent role to remedy that problem? Maybe I accidentally skipped over parts concerning them when I looked at the Rp, but the Hymn's crew has always been 100% Terran right?
Well, after I finish creating some new equipment, I'm going to create that species for you guys to look at.
