Natsha looked wearily between the two. "No offence guys...but I'm not sure if I really trust your magical abilities...I've been watching you guys for a really long time and...well..."

Cybele scoffed, "I highly doubt you've been watching Big Blue over here," she said as she motioned to Lau. "No offense by the way. He's like the wild card here. He just popped up outta nowhere."

Lau smiled, "No offense taken. Unless you have extremely capable clairvoyant powers I'm quite sure you know very little about me."

Natasha rolled her eyes, "If I could pop back I could easily know your entire life in seconds, but obviously..." She motioned to the belt, "I can't really do much about it now..." She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "Sorry, I'm just a little...not happy with life right now..."

"'Kay, I admit, magic is not my area. What ever the spellcasters decide is best for the protective spells is fine by me, but once those are out of the way, I can disable the mechanics of this thing. I'll stay out of the magic if you prefer it Natasha." Kleio stood back from the argument and waited for things to get sorted out.

Natasha waited impaciently, but as time went on she saw nothing was getting done. Her temper was starting to flare and unless she got out of the random alley and somewhere out of veiw she was going to burst. Her anger started to bubble and rise and she wa about to release some of it with a lovely little bit a magic when it triggered something in the belt. A sudden bolt of pain shot up from where the belt touched her lower back, up her spine and into her skull. She screamed for a split second and then tipped backwards as the world went black.

When Natasha collapsed, Kleio let loose with a prolific stream of profanity, even as she moved forward to catch the girl.
"Forget you all, I'm getting this thing off her NOW, before it kills her!"
Kleio hauled out her multipurpose tool and removed the cover on a circuit in the belt, hooking her tool up to it. Tapping into it's electrical power, she made began the needed adjustments to ensure that the power went it to the magic-disruption spell, at amanagable rate, instead of flowing into the wrong circuits and overloading something, or flowing at too high a rate and overloading something, or flowing at too low a rate a triggering something else in the blasted belt. "No one bother me or this could go horribly wrong!" she growled.

"This whole trip has gone horrilby wrong!" Cybele bursted out. She began pacing the alley. Her frustration was reaching it's peak and it was getting harder and harder to contain it.

Natasha stayed perfectly unconsious. The belt made random hissing noises or would set tiny fires every so often during Kleio's tinkering. The stupid magical barrier was the most complicated thing about it and wouldn't budge.

Kleio was getting frustrated. Several minutes of poking at the belt, and still the thing resisted any progress. The way the circuits and magic were intertwined was genius, and seemed designed specifically to deal with the kind of assault she was attempting. Whenever she stole too much power from any one circuit, the energy would be divertined into other circuits, so she could never get enough juice to over-ride the spell. Finally, frustrated, she began blocking off circuits to prevent the power diversion. Which was even more risky then trying this in the first place, but as nothing else was working, seemed worth it. It turned out to be the right decision, as after blocking most of the more superfluous circuits, existing primarily to allow for the power transfers, she finally managed to boost her spell enough and slip past the magical barrier, and shut down the belt's power source. Moving fast before it could turn itself back on, she unfastened the belt and flung it away, down the alley. With a sigh she leaned back and wiped at her forehead.

Dravan sighed. "So... Can we leave now?"

Natasha had no feeling at all. She was floating along in some astrogoo or something. All she knew was that she remembered having to go somewhere, but couldn't rememeber where. A school of peppermint squirls swam by chatting about narcaleptic Jeanies when it clicked. She had to get out of here and get the jeanie girl to the cave behind the waterfall before anyone found out what had happened to her. But she had no idea where she was, or who she was for that matter.

(btw this is all in her mind, Natasha's body in the physical world is still unconsious so feel free to go about and move her body and what not. She'll wake up soon, don't worry.)
