"Well kid, I gotta say, you got talent" Zeff smirked as he said this and walked up to Taro placing his hands on Taro's shoulders "I tought someone like you, I think you'll go far" he said as he patted him on the shoulders and than realized that he had just shown kindness to someone "I... Uh.. Mean" he grunted quickly taking steps back and crossing his hands infront of him "You did a decent job, could have been better, but at least you kept your balance and managed to do both the kicks with some power, I think you're ready for the next technique" grinning as he said this, he turned away to prepare Taro. Taro couldn't help but smile at the words that Zeff spoke to him, but he knew that he most likely said that to encourage him.

Taking a step into the Baratie, already familiar with the environment, he walked up to the entrance and opened the door looking at the customers and waiters serving food. Walking through the door to the back he was greeted by the face of Zeff "Are you a customer!?" he asked in his loud gruff voice "Still trining with you?" Taro replied a little shook up from Zeff and Zeff didn't seem to recognize him from afew minutes ago. "If you're not a customer, get out!" he barked, causing Taro to jump back from his voice. He figured that he mide as well play along since he was probably acting like he hadnt met him before. "I-,I-, I came here to train with you" he stammered, still afraid of the man "Train?" he said as he began stroking his moustache, thinking hard on whether he should take the time and effort to train such a small kid again.

"Alright! I'll teach you!" he said, quickly grabbing Taro by his shirt and dragging him into a back room "Men! Keep cooking!" he yelled as he walked through the door to the room. As the door closed, Zeff let go of Taro's shirt and began walking to the other side of the room, shuffling through a bunch of junk, searching for something. Taro began straightening his shirt a little upset that Zeff had been so rough with him, but he knew he would have to put up with it if he ever wanted to learn from him. After a few seconds of Zeff shuffling through some junk he finally emerged with a large, life sized dummy in his hand, propping it up in the center of the room. Taro looked at it for a long time until Zeff began barking at him once again "I'll be teaching you a technique called the Kick Uppercut"

"To begin this technique, you simply deliver a quick kick upward onto the opponents jaw. If you hit with enough force you may even break it" Zeff explained, laughing at the fact of breaking some one's jaw. To Taro that wasn't something really hilarious, but just so he didn't offend Zeff he began laughing weakly, trying his best to fake a real laugh. When Zeff had finished laughing he looked straight at the dummy for what seemed like half an hour before raising his leg into the air and delivering a strong upward kick to the dummy's lower jaw. This caused the head of the dummy to bend back and the dummy to lift up into the air, luckily the head didn't rip off. "You're turn" Zeff told Taro as he readjusted the head back to it's normal position.

Taro was getting tired, trying to lift his leg up to head height, but all he could get up to was the neck. Everytime he tried he seemed to gain height and more and more he drew closer to the jaw of the dummy. Only when he was about to give up did he raise his leg high up into the air, striking the dummy's jaw with less force than Zeff had, but he managed to do it. His leg hurt, but he was glad that he was able to use the technique, now all he needed to do was here how Zeff felt. Zeff simply nodded when Taro managed to complete the technique "Very good, let's move on" he said, already readjusting the dummy's head back to where it was before Taro kicked it. Taro was a little shocked by his reaction, he expected clapping and a job well done, but instead he only got a "Very good" from Zeff.

"Alright, I'll be honest with you, this next technique is going to be extremely hard for a kid like you" Zeff said in a calm tone while Taro could hardly believe what he was hearing, he had gotten most of Zeff's techniques and now he was discouraging him that he might not be able to get the technique. "Trust me, this technique is incredibly difficult, but the power it provides is a worthy asset in battle. If you manage to master this technique I will finally have respect for you." Zeff explained as Taro listened ready and eager to learn such a powerful technique. "The technique I'll be teaching you is called the Six Kick Combo, much like the Two Kick Combo, but a whole lot stronger and more kicks involved making it harder" Zeff gave a general outlook to it, but that wasn't exactly how the technique was done.

"So, how exactly is this technique performed?" Taro asked, curious about how such a powerful technique would be performed and wondered if he would be able to perform it once he had seen it done. Zeff made a grin "You seem eager to see it" he said to Taro who was a little confused on why Zeff was grinning at this question. Was performing this technique a fun thing for Zeff, or was it he liked seeing Taro confused and enjoyed watching him struggle to perform a technique. Hadn't Zeff used to be a pirate? Maybe that was the pirate still in him coming out. All Taro could only nod to his reply, not finding the words to reply all he could really do was that. Zeff smiled once again, approaching the front of the dummy he took in a deep breath. Taro figured that all the powerful techniques required you to take a deep breath to prepare yourself.

Zeff took one more deep breath and watched the dummy as if he expected it to make a move. Lifting his leg upward he delivered a powerful Kick Uppercut like the one Taro had previously learned, but this kick seemed to be less stronger. As Zeff continued he realized why, the kick had less power because Zeff was saving his strength for the next kicks. Once the Uppercut was finished he began striking the dummy in the stomach, once where the hear was, twice in the ribs, once in the stomach, and one last time in the collar bone. The technique moved so fast and Taro wondered how he managed to perform the technique while keeping his balance and remaining in the same spot. When he was done he placed his foot on the ground and looked over at Taro "Easy as that" he said and soon began laughing as if what he had said was a joke.

Easy! He thought in his mind, the technique looked hard and it had taken him forever to learn the Two Kick Combo, how did Zeff manage to think that he would be able to perform the technique so easily after seeing one demonstration. Zeff seemed to be growing impatient from Taro just standing there and began tapping his foot with his arms crossed across his chest. Taro saw that Zeff was growing impatient and decided to at least try and get it over. The technique appeared to be a combination of Kick Uppercut and than followed up by five swift kicks to the chest. It would be difficult to maintain his balance, but he decided to at least try attempting the technique. He walked up to the front of the dummy, took a deep breath and readied himself to perform the technique.

Taro quickly lifted his foot up into the air in the form of an uppercut that struck the dummy's lower jaw causing the head to go back from the force. Following up with the kick he landed a kick on the stomach, than keeping his balance he landed two more kicks on the chest of the dummy. When the two kicks collided with the dummy's chest, Taro struggled to keep his balance, but kept going by delivering a kick to the collar bone and than finishing up the technique by kicking extremely strong at the ribs which would have broken the ribs if it was a real person instead of a dummy. Collapsing to the ground from using the technique and losing his balance he looked up at the ceiling of the room, a smile on his face "I think I did it" was all that he could say as he closed his eyes, tired from using the technique, he needed to become stronger.

Taro slowly began to open his eyes, the room was faded and slowly his vision adjusted to the room and he realized that he had fallen asleep, or at least blacked out. Sitting up, he realized that he was laying in a bed and frantically looked around for any sign of someone. Sitting in the corner he saw Zeff, he sat in a chair and had his head down signifying that he was asleep. Taro couldn't help but smile and knew that he had learned enough from Zeff. Taking a step out of bed he began walking out of the door to the outside, looking back at Zeff and than walking outside to his boat. Taro untied his boat and began sailing off, already knowing where he was headed. He couldn't keep from smiling as he looked back at the Baratie, wondering when he might be returning.

I heard you on the wireless back in Fifty Two. . . Sara would soon reach the Baratie after a rather boring trip from Orange Town. Though she herself had learned quite a bit of interesting things on her travels though. Mainly how to better manage a sword as well as fancy moves that could be used mainly for show. But who was to say that they wouldn't be useful in battle. In her mind she was thinking that she should learn a few moves if ever disarmed of her swords. She had heard only in tales of a pirate who was so fierce that a single kick of his could kill a man. Red Shoes Zeff was the man's name and he was rumored to have been residing as the head-chef of the Baratie, a floating restaurant in the sea where all sorts of food was served. The whole entire staff was pretty good at their own styles of fighting, but Sara was interested in only one. She would reach the Baratie and hear the sound of something being hit.

I heard you on the wireless back in Fifty Two. . . Walking in she would see a man kicking another right in the stomach. This man who was kicked was quite obviously a pirate. She could tell by the way how he was standing and the stereo-typical savage appearance he had on his face. The man who had kicked him had a peg leg and it was one Lethal Kick that she had noticed. The pirate looked rather frantic and hungry at the same time. He would quickly pull out a knife and run towards the nearest innocent-looking person. This person to him was quite easily Sara. As the man would approach him Sara would copy down the movement that Zeff had used. She would send a kick right into his stomach. The man would fall as a quick release of air from his gullet could be heard. He would cough and fall to the floor, clenching his stomach. "You b***h." The man would scurry away, hobbling.

I heard you on the wireless back in Fifty Two. . . Zeff would look at Sara with a rather irksome smile on his face. That had been a whole lot easier than what Sara had thought it would be. She merely wanted to get Zeff's attention so she could learn as many techniques from him as she could. This attention was easily gained from the fact that she had performed a technique of Zeff's right to a man's stomach who was trying to attack her. Zeff would hobble to her with his peg leg creating the slight thud underneath him with every other step he took. The guests would go back to eating the food. It had seemed as if this was a natural thing for them to witness as it was. "Are you okay?" came the rough voice of Zeff as Sara would stay in place and respond in a sweet voice "Oh, yes. I'm fine."

I heard you on the wireless back in Fifty Two. . . A slight smile and look of innocence would cross over Sara's face. "Although I was quite frightened. I am glad that you had just done that kick, otherwise I don't think I could have defended myself against a bad pirate like that." She was slightly swindling Zeff as she was saying these words. Quite honestly she didn't mean a single word of it. But alas her charm as a female, especially one who was just attacked, would be playing into the account of believability of it all. Zeff would rub the back of his head thinking. "I know!" came Zeff's voice. "Meet me up on the deck in five minutes. I'll show you a move or two." So Sara would wait for the five minutes in the restaurant and once the clock passed five minutes she would go on out to the deck of the ship where she would see Zeff.
