The other two thugs growled at him and rushed forward, apparently wanting revenge for their defeated comrade. Rednal chuckled slightly as they came, then focused his power on just one of their legs, to draw those towards him. He whirled around, and as the legs came to his side, he grabbed them and slammed the two men around and into the tree. That was all of them, and with a disdainful look, Rednal began striding away. Fools.

A Cursed Fruit user might have been a little more dangerous. However, normal thugs were definitely not a match for him, whatever they tried. It was just like these foolish people to roam around, and charge in when they were so obviously outmatched. There had never been any hope for them, really. Maybe people liked using them as cannon fodder just to get rid of them while advancing their own goals. That made a surprising amount of sense.

Rednal came to a more secluded area now, and began to work on finishing up the touches on this technique. He could feel his power growing already, a deadly sort of energy that was more than sufficient to help him accomplish his goals. A private resort island, an intelligent, beautiful, and powerful wife, a fair bit of money to the side for whatever he wanted to order... yeah, that was his goal. And hunting pirates wouldn't be a bad way to do it.

All right. He'd gotten power around his hands, and onto distant objects... now for something a little more impressive. Rednal focused, and a spiral of darkness spread out across the ground for quite a ways. It seemed as if this power would take a little longer to master, but he was fine with that. He had more important things to do anyway, so by training, he would be better able to accomplish those things when it came time to do them. Definitely a good thing.

First of all, he needed to keep his eyes on potential targets. There were a lot of pirates out there, and most of them would do very well as fodder for being defeated. If he took down enough of them, it was almost certain that he would be able to get that island he wanted. The best targets were also the most dangerous; the Pirates who had Cursed Fruits and the accompanying powers. But he was now very, very good against such people, and he'd only get better.

But he had to get continually stronger in order to accomplish this. To become a walking tank of sorts, that was able to hit hard and soak up damage, especially of the Logia type. They were usually the most high-profile targets anyway. Rednal chuckled quietly, then raised his eyes slightly and looked forward. He needed to become ever-stronger... and he was so much closer to accomplishing his goals, it was almost frightening. In a good way.

With that, Rednal began spinning the vortex of energy, a black hole of sorts forming at its center. Exactly what he needed, of course. Anything on the ground besides him would be sucked into this, which would be a lot of trouble for almost anyone, especially if he sprung it on them as a surprise. What about the rest of the possibilities, though? He couldn't get too complacent. Maybe it would be good to have a Seastone Dagger on his body somewhere.

If he kept something like that in a sheath around his neck, held securely, it would serve as a bonus against his enemies. A nasty little surprise for them, certainly, and a fail-safe for him. You couldn't be too careful, and it was so much better to err on the side of caution than to risk disaster because you were unprepared. Another lesson from his homeland, and a good one to keep in mind. Rednal nodded firmly as the swirling of the darkness increased.

Seriously, though, what about his real goals? Rednal knew what he wanted, and even where his personal island would be. More than halfway through the Grand Line, certainly, in the New World somewhere. An interesting frontier. A place of new things, new adventures, and lots of similar, fun things. His island would probably need to take at least a day to cross, providing sufficient living room and enough space for an enormous mansion.

But beyond that, there would be the usefulness of being able to escape from the mansion and live out in the forest somewhere, or perhaps on a mountain. A self-contained little paradise, fully capable of supporting its very few inhabitants (ideally, two) and with no real worries about the rest of the world. He had to take control of everything necessary to achieve this paradise, however many pirates it meant taking down. They were fodder for his dream.

Unless it was a cute girl, of course. Maybe he'd even try for a harem; that could be fun. Chuckling at his fantasies, Rednal looked over to the swirling darkness and nodded, then waved a hand to cut it off. That was enough; he'd figured out precisely how the technique worked, so everything was good. He felt he could learn a little more here, but before long, he'd have to head out on his own. Like a bird leaving the nest, on to bigger and better things.

Rednal paused in his movement, though. The darkness was still there... but what could he do with it? He let it remain in place and settled down to ponder. He could always do more, better, faster, stronger... something to that effect. Why be satisfied with what he already had? Much better, all things considered, to go ahead and make it even more powerful. The more power he had, the better he would be able to crush his enemies. Definitely a good thing.

Gravity had the added bonus of being able to draw things to and away from him... which seemed to be most of the idea at times. He'd expand on that a little later and see what he could do to really conquer everyone he went against. He couldn't afford to lose to anybody, not if he wanted to really survive and accomplish his goals. With his new powers, though... he was so much closer to accomplishing what he needed to have done. What else could he do?

Certain factions of the world had differing views on what was right and proper. Rednal had long been under the impression that military strength said a great deal; the Marines had an excessive amount of it, hence being among the most impotant groups in the world. More to the point, Rednal intended to be a formidable enough force on his own to be considered a walking military force in his own right. And, therefore, not to be trifled with by anyone.

He laughed quietly as he focused his energy, and while maintaining the black hole, he began to unleash jabs again. As before, they were surrounded by a volatile black energy, exactly the sort that was most useful for crushing other Cursed Powers. That was why this fruit was so strong. And why he intended to be continually stronger, enough so that he could always achieve victory. Whatever it took, he wanted to achieve his goals. Always.
