Time to drag her sorry behind to the feast. Astri wasn't exactly looking forward to seeing so much joy and happiness and general new Weyrling-ness, but she wasn't about to wallow in self-pity either. Instead, she made herself look presentable, bathing and changing into a serviceable tunic. Her hair stood slightly on ends from the bath, but she hadn't cried like some had, and she looked collected. Shards, she even felt fairly collected. It was almost easier to not Impress the second time.

It was nice that they were having the Hatching Feast outside. It would have been unbearably hot any other way. Still, even in the vastness of the Weyrbowl, you could see how overcrowding was taking its toll. Astri was not a fan of it, but what could you do? Her voice meant nothing, and the Weyrleaders had not told anyone what their plans might be yet.

There was one thing Astri did regret about the day though- not having close friends. She had no one to confide in, and stood rather apart from anyone else, feeling awkward. She had to make friends- it wasn't like her to be so introverted.

The dance floor looked inviting enough, with a few couples already swaying to the music that the Weyr Harpers had set up. Good thing there were enough Harpers at Ista. Did the Harper hall have any left?

Oh, yes, when your's is done playing with the big-headed one, then maybe he can play with mine, or maybe we can all play together! She was just as thrilled by this prospect as Galliath was, if only because it would assure that they would have more time to play together themselves. Glancing over her light green shoulder, she spied her bonded do nothing in particular, which was exactly what she did not want him to do.

Galliath says you can maybe play with his when he's done playing with the big-headed boy! You need to find someone to play with now to pass the time, though! Her green eyes narrowed slightly as she saw her rider shake his head, and more importantly heard his thoughts about how he did not want to do anything other than eat right now. Well, she'd change that as soon as she was done playing with Galliath, that was for sure!

How about you chase me? I am very fast, so it won't be an easy game! But it'll be fun! I'll chase you after you chase me, okay? She tilted her head to the side, crooning her pleasure at the thought of the game she had so cleverly made up on the spot!

"Of course you plan on sharing it with me," F'sey grunted, reaching over to inspect what his friend hand brought while he waited for his little bluerider to make his way through the crowd. He smiled a little when the weyrling approached. "Still calling me sir?" The older rider sighed dramatically and shook his head. "C'ren, this is H'dra, of blue Dievath." He nodded towards the lad and eyed C'ren breifly, waiting for his opinion.

For one you did not Search, you are awfully proud of Dievath's, Ialluth commented coyly.

F'sey snorted. Oh hush, you silly dragon, he replied tartly, returning his focus to the pair of riders he found himself with. "So, how has weyrling training been, H'dra? And don't listen to that S'kagi fellow. Doesn't know a thing he's talking about." Sore? Oh yes. F'sey was still quite sore over that lecture.

"C'ren, are you gonna crack that open, or what?"

If there were one things Feasts were good for, it was getting drunk. F'sey was ready to get the alcohol started, thank you very much.

If F’sey was hoping that C’ren would immediately accept H’dra as a friend, now and forever, then he would be sorely disappointed. He eyed the boy critically, thinking that he was rather… well… soft for someone who F’sey liked so much. Not that C’ren really knew the older Greenrider very well at this point. Still, at least he didn’t try to scare H’dra away. That was practically three cheers and a chorus where C’ren was concerned.

“Yeah, yeah. Keep your shirt on, F’sey. For the good of us all. Vox! Stop that, right now!” he waved a hand at the fat blue firelizard once more, but Vox paid it no heed. His swirling eyes were set on the food that C’ren was trying to valiantly defend. In the end, the Greenrider was forced to pretend to throw a tidbit of some sort, and Vox promptly chased after the nothing. That would keep him busy for a little while, at least long enough for C’ren to crack open the bottles.

I wish Astarteth’s was here… Ceylith murmured, partly to herself, partly to Ialluth and mostly to C’ren. If F’sey was showing off his adopted weyrling, it only felt like C’ren ought to do the same. Although, for some reason, he had been avoiding the weyrling… Ceylith sighed quietly before commenting, They are so very odd, aren’t they, Ialluth?

To drunk to notice that his partner was man, (or maybe he was just to drunk to care) Dorinelic grabbed S'van's hand the second he said 'why not?' "Well then, les' go!" yanking on the arm, he dragged S'van to the middle of the dance floor. Part of Dorinelic's mind knew it was the middle, and thus, the center of attention. The other part, was still to drunk to care.
"Now, whachu' say your name was? Doesn't matter. Now less begin!" Fumbling with his hands, he groped his way to S'van's waist. If he had been sober, he would have been ashamed. If. If was becoming a very strong word for Dorinelic's inner self. "Oi, your quite solid! But is' okay. I'm not a softy either."

Oh Faranth the traffic was bad in here!

Nan had been fighting for shards knew how long to get through this crowd and see what all the fuss was about. Twice someone had trod on her poor delicate feet and three times she'd been elbowed by some dimglow Candidate who was trying to make his way towards the food table. Sustenance could wait! She needed to get over there and see what was going on!

Finally, after some serious pushing and shoving, the Infamous Nose forcefully made her way to the front of the crowd. And what a sight to see. Judging by the looks of the dancing people, the wine skins had been passed around early. A young man she recognized but didn't know appeared to be trying to dance with Inaari, while S'kagi looked like he had had a bit too much to drink and was talking to Jessmet. And was that... S'van and Dorin? Oh man, she knew the Smith was gay! Why else would he have blushed like mad about green flights? Nandeli added another member to her definitely gay list.

But, Dorin's gayness aside, she wanted in on the action! With a grin replacing a pout, Nandeli spotted Astri and promptly made her way over to the other girl. "Welcome back! The Healers finally let you out?"

Wooooah there! Dorinelic was getting a little friendlier than S'van was used to. ... He suppressed a giggle. Why was everything so fardling funny right now? Having never been drunk before, the brownrider didn't know what he was getting into, and he allowed himself to be led into a dance. "Well, I'm a seaholder. We're all very solid, I'll have you know!" Was there a trace of a slur to his tone? Why yes, yes there was. Yes! Let's play that game! Maybe when mine is finished yours will chase him? Much like Galliath was chasing Miith. Tearing off after the green dragonet, the brown did not seem to notice when he bumped into people, candidates and weyrfolk alike. You had better run, Miith~ Galliath crooned, intensely cheerful now. I am going to catch you! Little did the dragonet know how his words and actions could be taken.

I do not know if mine will like this game, but I will certainly make him play it if your's wants to! The words were spoken as she turned to run from Galliath. The game was on! She shoved past woman and man alike, adult and child, even the eldery weren't spared as the green dragonet became lost in her game. She was not going to let Galliath catch her! She was faster and smarter, and he simply did not stand a chance against her! I am running, but you seem to be too slow to catch me! she teased her clutchbrother mercilessly, making a sharp turn to narrowly evade trampling a young man (not that she'd have cared much, but it'd really slow her down if she actually ended up tripping over one of these people!).

Meanwhile, E'si, who had been just drinking some sweetened klah, could only look in horror as his dragonet began to push through everyone. His icey blue eyes widened with shock, hands clutching hard to the cup to keep himself from dropping it and chasing after his dragonet in a futile attempt to get her to stop. "M-MIITH!" and he only looked more horrified when she ignored him and continued on with her game with Galliath.

Okassis had already turned away by the time that Dorin whisked S'van off to dance, directing his gaze to the self-possessed young woman that had approached him. His eyes went from her top to her toes, quickly appraising - shards, the girl was just as tall as he was! Not much built out in any direction he could see either, just up and straight and tall. Not unappealing, though, and he grinned in his most charming manner.

"I'd be a fine fool indeed to refuse an offer from a pretty lady!" Okassis answered, offering out a hand to Kyllae with small bend of his waist. He hardly waited for her to take it, though; the music was already moving, and he was eager to join in, going for a grab around her waist to sweep the girl into a twirling side-step.

If had become the word of the night. If he wasn't drunk, he'd say he looked like a right fool. If he was, he'd call it dancing. Which is just how he say the odd turns and twists Dorinelic might as well have dragged S'van through. "Sea holder! Well, then lets see if your sea legs will keep up on land!" One two three spin! One two three dip! Yup! He could still dance, even while drunk.
At least he thought so.

A thought registered in S'van's cloudy brain. ... Dorin was dancing with him as though he was a girl. He blinked, trying desperately to keep from bursting out laughing at the very amusing mental image of himself in a dress that Galliath sent him. Oh Shards the man was dipping him like he was some kind of... some kind of... --his thought broke off there. "My sea legs can do anything your legs can," he said, trying to sound cocky and just coming off coy instead. Oh horror of horrors! Was the man... was the man actually dipping him? Shells, he must be strong. Maybe they will play like mine is playing now? Galliath suggested, speeding through a crowd of Feast-goers as though they weren't there. From the startled sounds that abounded, they hadn't expected him at all. Miiiiith I will catch you, I will! I am not at all slow!

Miith had to look over her shoulder to see exactly how Galliath's was playing, and that looked like fun, to be dipped down like that! Maybe she could get E'si to play that with her... but then she wasn't the same shapes as E'si, so maybe it would be better if he played that game with Galliath's. She shook her bright green head, and then realized that Galliath was catching up! With a loud trumpet she skidded into a turn, hitting an unfortunate bystander right in the knees and sending them toppling over. Immediately she started in the next direction, trumpeting with triumph. You will never catch me! I am the fastest, prettiest, and BEST green! You'll never be able to catch up with me! she declared all-too haughtily. Maybe if you catch me mine will let your's play with him like that! But only if you cattcccch me!

E'si could hear his dragonet's playful words, and his face would likely explode before it managed to get any redder. He couldn't stop her, not without making himself more noticeable, so all he could do in that instant was watch with increasing embarrassment.

H'dra's lips twitched upwards in a shy smile. "Of course, sir." He turned his attention to the other greenrider, taking careful note of the name, and bowed. "It's a pleasure to meet you C'ren, sir." Anyone who F'sey took the time to introduce him to was worth remembering. Though the other rider didn't seem pleased to meet him, he didn't seem displeased either, and H'dra decided that was good enough for him. The boy wasn't F'sey's friend without reason, that was for sure.

His mentor's comments on S'kagi surprised him. Had something happened between them? He hadn't thought the bronzerider had been quite a nice man. Strict and firm, but that didn't make him unkind. "The lessons have been very interesting. Dievath and I are learning lots! And with all due respect sir, I do sort of have to listen to what he says. He is qualified to teach the weyrlings, sir, so he should know what he's talking about. Though if you don't like him that's okay sir. I don't mind."

"And um... Dievath says hi," he added awkwardly, finally succumbing to the pestering of his dragon.

A grin of a fool now permanently plastered to Dorinelic's face, he was twirling S'van about like a rag dog. "Careful darl'n. This ocean will throw you over board if 'ur not careful! better make sure you have some good land legs" He set S'van into another dip, not paying any mind to the fact that people were staring at him. In the dip, his hands fell a bit further south. "Oops. Sorry..." he gave his partner a wink, still oblivious to the fact that his partner was also a man. "'Jus making sure you have a fine pair of land legs to dance with~" And there he went again, singing off key.

Hmm. Something about the situation struck S'van as being slightly off kilter, but due to his inebriated state, the brownrider couldn't quite put his finger on what. Then, to his utter shock, the man he was dancing with snaked his hands down S'van's back somewhat inappropriately. The new weyrling could only sputter and flush, completely taken off guard. "Hey! I think I'm being taken advantage of," he said, trying to sound outraged. Apparently outrage flew out the window along with dignity when alcohol was on the table. Darling. ... Darling? Something about that... something about that shouldn't quite fit the situation. But there were hands, and he was forgetting how to shove them off. Oh well. It was only a dance, anyway. "What? You had to check?" As though his fit state needed to be questioned, hmm? I wiiiilll catch you! Just wait, I will, I will! Galliath all but tumbled over a bench in his efforts to reach Miith, moving as fast as a dragonet could.

Why, this partner was fun! Kyllae chuckled, allowing his hand to wrap around her waist. She wasn't as uptight as her cousin. There was something to be said of allowing boys to touch you. It was kind of hard to flirt, too, if you had a 'no-touch- policy. She leaned into his grip, relaxing enough so that she could be comfortably lead in dancing. She liked to lead but she realized that it was respectful to let males feel like they were in charge. They always seemed to get so agitated if she took charge.

"You're not too shabby yourself," she commented on his appearance, and his complimenting her. Her eyes flickering to the scar on his face. "That looks like a story I must hear," she commented, winking. It wasn't even that the alcohol was making her more open. No, Kyllae was always this forward. She was just a girl who liked to have fun!

She made sure to move enough so that her dress flared and swirled at the bottom. Oh this was enjoyable! So many times she picked guys that ended up being shy, or awkward. Kyllae was the opposite of both. And while she could have fun with reserved people, being open...was just more fun! It saved her trouble getting them to open up.

"So...does my charming partner have a name?" She asked, sounding innocent enough.
