Kimmy Cinders had been working for the Institute for a better part of her life. This was a fact. She was also a skilled morph -- this was also a fact. And, above all, Kimmy was the kind of woman who could walk into a room full of men plotting to kill likely some of her distant family members without so much as knocking on the door and join into the coversation. Which is exactly what she did one afternoon at the Institute.
Ignoring shocked glances and halted conversations, she strode over to Strohm's experiment table, high-heeled shoes clicking on the floor, and began to poke some of the things on the tabletop.
"So I hear there's a party going on," she chirped, turning around and smiling at the three -- the smile wasn't genuine (they never were), more like the kind of grin a cat gets when it's trapped a mouse in a corner. "And that I haven't been invited. Why is this?"
Anyone staying at the Institute for more than five minutes knew Kimmy. She was hard to miss. Her yellow feline eyes, flaming red hair and tight leather outfits tended to stand out again the labcoats of the rest of the occupants. She stared at the trio, waiting for their answer.

“Yes, no, and yes.” Sam said with a dismissive wave before he sat on the edge of the bed, which was now claimed as his. He couldn’t recall when the last time was that he had actually slept in the bed. Stretching his legs out in front of him he crossed his arms, observing Ras briefly, Ahhh so she’s not as serious as she’d like to seem. He thought to himself after catching the small smile she had. The Shadow decided to elaborate then on the subject of his eyes, “My other form allows me to see in bad lighting, not quite enough to see completely in the dark. But much better than that of the average person. It’s the same in this form as well. As for my blind-fold the knit of the cloth is virtually see-through. It provides enough protection from the light though despite it’s transparent quality.”
Finishing with a smile the morph leaned back and snatched the moonshine back up. When he was about to take a drink more questions spilled from the girls’ lips, causing him to chuckle a little. “Not nosy at all, love. And you saw what I do. But maybe you need a closer look…” Sam mused before setting the bottle back down. He slid off the bed and walked to a more empty part of the room, crouching down afterwards, and then he began to change again. Oh he knew that this would be his limit of changing for today, but he didn’t mind showing off. Sam changed slowly though, so as not to exhaust himself, and after about 15 minutes he was completely changed. His head held low, wings tucked, and his eyes focused on Ras. “I can only change into this creature and use it to my advantage.” He growled out.

Katerina saw Trent start to fall. Oh no you don't! She said as she caught Trent telekinetically. She would've caught him regularly, but she wasn't sure if she was strong enough to carry his weight. Once she'd caught him, Katerina carfully lifted Trent so that he would be riding on her piggy back style. I think it might be a better idea to get him to some sort of doctor, don't you agree? Katerina said as she turned to Bailey.

"Most definitely." She nodded, watching Trent with worried eyes. "He doesn't look good. Medical bay is this way." Without another word, she headed down one of the hallways and led them there. On the way she decided to ask Katerina something. "Did you and Ava get separated or something?" She turned a corner and they started to come upon the medical bay.

As soon as Trent heard the mention of the medical bay doctors he seemed to start panicking. "Non! Let me go!" He shouted as he squirmed to get free. Just the thought of being in any type of medical place brought shivers up his spine.

Katerina held on to Trent with a suprisingly strong grip. Kid, If we don't take you to a doctor of some sort, we can't help you. Unless you want to stick it out with this unknown illness, you're screwed. Katerina said extremely bluntly. She was debating on wheather or not she should psyichically knock this guy out. Turning back to Bailey, she answered the question. You could say that we got separated. Our parents died ten years ago of some unknown illness. I wanted to be alone to deal with the grief by myself, so I ran into the woods surrounding our current "home". I got lost, and by the time I'd navigated back, two days had passed and Ava had moved on. I didn't bother to look for her for five years. It took me another three to trace her back here. If she'd been anyone else, it would've only taken me about six months, But Ava is one of the only non-telepath's in the world whose mind cannot be read by a telepath. I had to search for people who had seen her, which is not a lot, and trace her movements based on that. When I found her latest residence today, she still had some of her things there, and I was able to figure out she was nearby thanks to the fact that she still had our Fathers Bible, which has it's name in it. I had to read some minds to figure out her basic location, I'll apologize to them later, I found it, and now here I am! Katerina finished.

Trent didn't even listen he continually fought. His ears were even back and he had a look in his eyes that made him look like a wild animal. He was terrified. “You gotta let me go please". He began to sob. "s'il vous plaît." He said as he whimpered. Soon after he began to go into another coughing fit this time he began shaking violently. Of course by the time the shakig had begun. Blood eventually started spewed from his mouth. When everything was over he was still concious. But two questions remained; How long would his body hold out? And what was wroung with him?

Bailey nodded, taking in everything that Katerina said. "You've been through a lot. I'll show you to her right away." She then turned her attention back to Trent, who seemed like he was dying. "Listen kid, either you calm down and stop fighting us or I'm going to knock you out. Is that clear?" She didn't wait for a response and pushed open the door to medical bay. A nurse ran over and removed Trent from Katerina's back. "Him again?" The nurse was asking Bailey. "Please find out what's wrong, I'll be right back." She left Trent in the hands of the doctors and made her way out into the hall. "I'll show you to Ava's room, but I have to return here to see if he's okay."

  "Because this is an assignment that you weren't put on." Parris snipped without even turning around. He knew that woman's voice, and it made him want to kill things. Like small children. Or puppies.
Kimmy Cinders: the bane of most people's existence; especially if they were trying to do something they didn't want her on.
"Now, if it's not too much trouble to ask," Parris turned, his eyes flashing with barely contained anger, "Could you just f**k off and leave us to our jobs? Maybe you can go and do something useful that doesn't involve putting your nose where it doesn't belong."
Apparently, Parris ranted mentally, today was just supposed to go to hell for him. First Indigo had attached himself to the job (which Parris wasn't minding so much any more), then they had discovered that Strohm was going to be baby sitting them... and now that woman. It just seemed like they weren't supposed to get out of the damn building before dark, at the very least.
He cast a look of 'what the ******** hell' to Indigo, then turned back to the newest in a line of intrusions upon his day.
~~~
Vlase was wandering the halls silently, occasionally running his hand down the walls. He probably shouldn't have snapped at Bailey like that. He didn't need the rebels thinking he was some member of the Institute, especially since he wasn't. No, it wasn't his fault. She had jumped him. He hadn't done anything differently than he had been doing since they met... Of course, showing his power was probably a mistake.
He walked past an open door in the hall, glancing into it hesitating momentarily. It was an empty room with a sink on the opposite wall and after a moment of contemplation, Vlase walked into the room and slid the door closed behind him. He pulled off his green jacket and reached into one of the pockets, retrieving a small bottle of black dye.
Ras listened intently to the morph's first explanation about his eyes. Although she wondered why it was he saw so much better in his other form, Ras bit back the question. There were some things that would better be explained by science. Ras doubted Sam knew the exact mechanics of his genetic make-up, so it was better not to think to far into it. "Curious. Interesting, but curious all the same."
She watched as Sam reclined, noting the small spiral of laughter that had jumped from his throat. After considering this for a few moments, Ras realized she must sound like a five year old. Making all of those inquiries, one after the other. Embarrassed, a flash of pink tinted her cheeks-- Ras loathed coming off as juvenile, as she was sure she just had. Of course, Sam didn't seem to mind, and she soon forgot her discomfort as he removed himself from the bed. The girl observed closely as the transformation began. Even growing up at the institute, Ras had never seen anything quite like his ability. Intrigued, she circled Sam slowly, coming in closer with each round. "That's so cool." Looking up cautiously, Ras asked, "would it be alright if I pet you? It's not often you see a dragon, and I'm curious to see what one feels like."-- As a general rule, Indigo liked most people. Of course there was an exception to everything, and Kimmy Cinders came close to it. She was loud, brash, and demanding. Having grown up around Ras, and his mother, with her soft-spoken nature, these were not traits he was used to in a woman. The boy flinched almost inperceptiably as she entered the room. "Hello Kimmy. Nice to see you too." He said dully in reponse to her entrance. In contrast either eyebrow shot up his head as he heard Parris' reaction to her arrival. Nonetheless, when his companion gave him the Look, Indigo rolled his eyes, formed his hand into the shape of a gun, inserted his middle and index finger into his mouth, and pulled an imaginary trigger. Although next tempted to fall 'dead' to the floor, Indigo cut the theatrics and next turned back to the older woman.
"Kimmy, we would simply adore your help. Really, we would. Unfortunately, we already have more than enough people to help us accomplish our task." Raking a hand nervously through his hair, he knew that would not be enough to placate her. "I'm sure Brodan or my father have some other missions that need accomplishing, you could go talk to them. We're just going to take out a lowly rebel. Nothing you would be that interested in.... she's nothing special."
Indigo knew, that probably would not do the trick. He could still try.
Kimmy, of course, would not take no for an answer. She flipped her hair, turning to Indigo and ignoring Parris for the moment.
"If she really were a lowly rebel, as you claim, you wouldn't have been asigned that guy." Here she gestured vaguely to Strohm. Her feline eyes now strayed to Parris. "You know, people would like you a lot better if you weren't such a dickhead all the time."
Though most of the time Kimmy was all talk, her cat-like eyes held a warning in their cold depths. Watch your mouth.
"We would if it were my first mission out and the guys upstairs wanted to make sure I don't royally f**k it. Oh wait, that is what happened." Parris held her glare and returned it with his own. There wasn't a fibre of his being that didn't scream 'punch her!', but he refrained. "Oh, and maybe, just maybe, if I cared what people thought I wouldn't say the things I do, hmmm?"
"Now look, I've got a job to do, Indigo's already volunteered to help me out and Strohm's got a job to do in following us." He stopped and gave her a pointed look, "So step off, lady. You can seriously screw this entire mission by forcing yourself into it and I really don't think that Brodan or Ingram will appreciate that."
"Do you understand, or should I use smaller words?"
Kimmy huffed, acting every bit the insulted lady.
"My my, aren't we pissy today!" she chirped, stretching. "... However ..." And here, there was a pause, because as she said that, Kimmy began to change. Tail and ears sprouted from their respective places, her jaw lengthened into a muzzle, and thick, dark red fur, the same color as her hair, covered her body. When the transformation was complete, lo and behold, there sat a gigantic cat, more leopard-like in build than anything else, about the size of a horse, staring back at Parris.
"... I intend to accompany you, whether or not you'll have me. Don't worry, I'll behave." If cats could smirk, she would certainly be doing so right now, and her tail twitched back and forth, back and forth.
 Parris glowered more. She thought that would intimidate him?
Two can play at that game, woman, but I won't. I don't want people to know about that yet.
Parris held her gaze for a while, contempt rising quickly. He would be sure to say something to Brodan and Ingram about this later. That woman was endangering everything they had right now with her selfish desire to go with them. Parris wasn't the most lenient person when it came to what he wanted., but where the Institute's missions were involved... he could put his desires away for the sake of that, and now that he had a chance to prove himself as something more than a lapdog... she was going to ruin it.
The best laid plans, he supposed with an angry sigh.
"If you ruin our mission..." Parris couldn't finish the sentence, he was just so mad. He knew if she went bollocking it up there would be hell to pay for all of them, especially her... He looked to Indigo, implying that he take over negotiations with that woman before Parris just sliced her in half and they moved on.
Indigo sighed inwardly as he watched the exchange between the two, and mentally face-palmed when Kimmy changed. This was bordering on getting out of hand, and as soon as Parris presented the oppurtunity to step in, Indigo fervently snatched it.
"You can come with us, but only if you're willing to go along with what we have planned." His body language and voice became assertive, as he made direct eye contact with the feline in front of him. "We have been sent to take out the leader of Retributions daughter, Bailey Hall. The plan is for Parris and I to pose as run-aways from the Institute here, trying to find Retribution. Old Strohm," he motioned haphazardly to the man with a fluttering motion of his hand, "is going to make it look as if he is chasing us. We're going to an abandoned city, where we believe the base might be, as many rebels have been seen there. We're also going under the pre-tenses of looking for my sister Ras. We also have to make it look as if we do not want to be part of the insititute, due to any telepathics that might be lurking about. Now." Here, Indigo's voice became firm, "I'm going to give yopu two choices. You can either be on Strohm's side, and act as if you're out to get us. Ooor, you can come with us into Retribution, if we can find a rebel willing to take us. If so, I would suggest changing into something a tad more... homely. We're supposed to be on the run, so you'll need to look convincing. That's it. You better behave. Take it or leave it."
As an afterthought, Indigo leaned and uttered into one furry ear, "also, try to stay out of Parris's way... and mine as much as possible. While I can tolerate you, if you push him much farther, I think he'll snap." Turning back to Parris he spoke at an audible volume, "does that sound good to you?"
