Do I feel guilty? Yes, all the time. Every night, I recite a Hail Mary for every person who has died by my hand. But it's worth it, as long as my son has a chance at living in a better world. I don't hate you, I'm just a Mother, willing to do anything to protect her child. Elva would do anything for Cathair. Elva hadn't noticed the nanos, but she could tell that Madlax was buying time. For what, she had no idea, but that didn't stop her from taking out her own swords, charging them with a little lightning, and lunging at Madlax.

Amalia? Antonio knocked on the door to her room. It seems there's something going on in town, and we're supposed to check it out. Elva's already there, but apparently there are some escapees from the Institute with her. Are you up to going?
Yes Antonio, I think I'm up to going. Amalia really didn't Look like she was up to going, but no one was going to argue. No one ever won an argument with Amalia. Let's go. Elva will probably need help getting them to believe that she's not from the Institute.
Well then, out task awaits, fair lady. Antonio grinned sarcastically, and bowed flamboyantly, ushering Amalia out the door. The two proceeded out of Retribution, towards the city, and then finally to Elva, Rade, Tripp, Alice and Madlax. The two stayed out of sight in order to see what was happening. I don't think we need to step in quite yet. Unless that woman over there sets off some more explosions. Antonio spoke in a hushed voice.
I agree. Right now, it's three against one. If they couldn't take her together, it would be extremely sad, and I woud probably laugh. Amalia also spoke in a hushed voice, not wanting to give away their position.
((Antonio and Amalia arrived not too long after Madlax found the group, but before she set off the explosions.))

((You know what guys?

I am made of magic.

All the posts are up now and in the right places; unless gaia eats them.
And if that happens, I'll be pissed))

Susan kept her distance from the door and watched Jay with patience. He had is excuses for not escaping, but Susan was 85% positive he had other motives of being here. "You want to become even stronger than you already are. You're willing to stay in this hellhole for a taste at something better than what you already are." She looked away when she spoke to him and stared at the floor off to the side from her. "I know they followed me, I knew they would. Telling them not to was a waste of time and perhaps I shouldn't have even gone." She looked up and into Jay's eyes. "But I don't break my promises. And it was the only way you were going to let me bring Lance back."

Her phone rang and she jumped, proving that standing outside the cell of the demon before her was shaking her up. She flipped it open and read the message, smiling. "And it was well worth it." Her words confirmed Lance's good condition and she shut the phone and dropped it into her pocket carelessly. Everything had been completely worth it: risking her life, making a deal with the enemy and capturing Jay. She would have done it a thousand times over if it meant saving Lance's life. "If there's nothing else, I'll be leaving."

((I'm going to say Alice has passed out for the sake of confusion during the fight with Madlax.))

Jay began to laugh as he listened to her and he could sense and smel that Lance was alright. " You know once Lance finds out I am captive here he will surely come down here and try to kill me in which he will fail and die. Because this time I will not hold back just because I promised his little sister I wouldn't kill him doesn't mean I won't strike the killing blow. I understand that she wants her brother to change but if he attacks and trys to kill me first then his death is immenent (sp?)." Jay remained silent now as he sat there against the wall his hair hanging down infront of his face. " If I find out any of my friends are dead because of that scorpion looking guy...." He was at the door in an instant a dark and evil look in his eyes. " I will rip everyone in this building to shreds with my bare hands!!" With that he moved back over to his spot again and sits down waiting for her to speak and let her contemplate on the matter.

Radé laughed, pulling her sword from the ground where she had slammed it to prevent herself from becoming the next lightning-rod. So if she's attacking the other lady too, it's probable that she's not against us. Or deep undercover, one of the two. The hair on the back of her neck bristled and she and Tripp turned slightly to glance in the direction of more hushed voices.

She nodded to Tripp, who stepped away from the fight, his gun still covering Madlax as he retreated. Radé, in turn, chuckled at Madlax and the Lightning-Lady's conversation. As the conversation broke for a moment, Radé spoke up, "See, I have no qualms about killing, torturing or whatever else an old comrade. You know why?" She flashed her teeth in an animalistic smile, "Because the operative word is 'old'." In a rapid motion, Radé slammed her sword back into the ground a few feet ahead of her, using the blade's weight to pull her forward. Using the hilt to jump the blade handily, she hit the ground running at Madlax.

"Hey, Jek! Can you get me my sword?" Her eyes hadn't left Madlax, but the predator's grin had returned to her face.

Tripp, after retreating from the fight with the recently (again) unconscious Alice, began circling around the group to where the voices had come from, making sure to stay hidden and silent. As he came up to where they ought to be, he set Alice down and made sure that she would stay hidden and safe, then pressed forward.

As he approached the pair, a male and female, his hand razors slid from their sheaths and made a quiet click as they locked into place. At the same time, his adrenalin booster kicked in and all his systems went on the offensive. Tripp was now in what he had quickly learned was a very effective state of being: wired junkie with nasty weapons and spastic reflexes that would make a crack whore jealous.

((As a note; Tripp is primarily mechanical... So, I'm not sure how telepathy works on machines. Also he doesn't plan to himself; his approach would have been orchestrated entirely by his head-computer and executed, no real thought about it.))

((You are pretty magical Senko. Thanks for letting me know about Tripp. I'm thinking Telepathy would have little, to no impact on him whatsoever, so I'm probably just going to count on Amalia's telekinisis and ninja skills. ninja ))
Antonio just barely heard the click of Tripp's razors, but that wasn't even why he turned. From his vantage point he could see that Tripp had left the group, and Antonio wasn't sure if Tripp was an ask questions later type. <********> Antonio quietly swore when he saw Tripp's razors. Hey, Mali! We have possibly unfriendly company.
Wha...? Oh, I see. Amalia turned to see who Antonio was looking at, and promptly saw Tripp. Even without telepathy, Amalia could tell Tripp was ready for an attack. We aren't from the Institute, so you don't have to attack us. You probably don't believe me, even though I am telling the truth. I don't blame you if you don't though. Personally, I'd think you were stupid if you did. But, hey, that's just my opinion. Now, are you going to try to attack, let us talk you into believing we aren't enemies, or some plan C that I haven't come up with yet?
Antonio raised his eyebrows extremely high at his sister's words. God, what's with these mood swings lately?! Just yesterday morning, she was on the brink of tears! Now she's being slightly witty and conversational? What's next, random fits of rage?

Gha'aru scuttled through the shell that was once a thriving city. Or they told him it had been a thriving city, he didn't know that one for himself. His personal hell had been inside the building that had housed him for some untold number f years, hiding the abomination from sight and mind. They had forgottenabout him once or twice, sure, but he had reminded them by grabbing guards as they patrolled by his home in the shadows of the basement-levels. Occasionally it would be two or three in a group and they would wonder out loud about why no one had been patrolling that level... and he would grab them.

No one forgot about him for a good while after those attacks, and then he would fade back into the nightmarish tales of failed experiments used to scare the recruits. Until the patrols started up again...

Gha'aru blinked, tearing himself from his slightly disturbing reverie and realizing that he had made his way to one of the taller buildings in the city and scaled to the top. He had been gazing around absently for the past few minutes before deciding to return to himself and actually take note of what he was looking at.

And there wasn't a lot to look at, either. Nothing really big seemed to be happening that he could see, though he knew that the people he was hunting were out there somewhere. Without much of an idea on what direction to head in, Gha'aru faded from the physical realm and began wandering.

He would find something eventually, and he had all the time in the world.

Madlax watched as Rade Lunged at her, so did the unfamiliar woman with the lighting Sword. What the hell did I get myself into? Madlax thought to herself. She closed her eyes and decided, to run or to stay. “I am not a coward.” she said quietly. Madlax began to sprint at Rade, her swords stuck into the ground behind her.

Madlax could faintly hear two other people that Tripp was looking at. In Mid-lunge she sent an explosion his way. She directed it only at him, not the other two. Madlax didn’t need to calculate her strength this time she knew that going this far was practically suicide.

She hit the ground a few feet in front of Rade and ran right, past her. As she passed her head, Madlax said, “I know, where your brother is.” only loud enough for Rade to hear. Then Madlax sliced at Rade’s back.
