"Five minutes?!" Desiree stared at him from over the top of her book. "You mean I ran here for nothing?" Despondent, she returned to Psychics or Just Psycho? with a frown on her face.

((umm not exactly a great friend now are you? kris and desiree are buds and i very highly doubt that were kris to see desiree reading a book about how divination and all is a lie, she would simply say "Interesting book"))

The tip of Leigh's quill broke suddenly, in the middle of the first 'T' in 'Matt'. Quickly, she crumpled up the parchment and put her broken quill away. She straightened up hastily, noticing Desiree reading. "That's not required reading for the class, is it?" she asked.

"No, no..." Desiree didn't even look up from the book, she seemed to be deeply fixated on reading it cover to cover. She looked to be almost finished too. "It's extremely fascinating, really. I agree with alot it says..."

"I thought you were a real Seer," Leigh said, a trace of doubt in her voice. "My older sister has that book. She says it's all about how Divination is rubbish. Not even real magic, just guesswork."

"What do you mean?" She closed the book slightly to take a look at the Title on the cover sleeve. "Oh, forgot about that." She pulled off the sleeve and stuffed it in her bag, revealing a hardcover book that was titled Taking the Divine out of Divination:A Deeper Look into the Seer's Ability "My parents would have killed me if they saw I had bought another book like this, so I've been keeping the other cover over it so they don't ask questions."

"They don't approve of Seeing, period. Call it...' a waste of time and valuable magic that you can't afford to waste just trying to be a carnival fortune teller.' Little they know, but they don't like to listen to me." She shook her head with a smirk on her face as she continued reading.

Leigh nodded, unsure of what to say. "So..what do you want to be?" she asked curiously.
Professor Trelawny entered the room, bringing with her the unmistakeable odor of sherry. She positively cooed over Desiree's book, and very nearly fell into a large, overstuffed chair, unsettling a stack of tarot cards. Presently, the rest of the class filed in, including Sarah Pearl.
