There was shouting: monks from all over the monastery came pouring into the Court of the Spirit just as the group was about to be sent up. It was too late to stop it. The monks under the charge of the great Qi Gong master VaαΉ£uveda were too far into their process to be stopped.
But that didnβt stop the others from trying. From the bridge the headmaster and his elite took aim at the court and VeαΉ£uveda, assailing them with attacks which would have likely shaken the group as they did the monasteryβs foundation. Fortunately they were to be spared such a test. In the space they were, mind and bodily perception separated totally from the actual body, they were completing unaffected by the happenings of this plane. Hellfire, telekinetic hammer-blows, earthquakes; all of it was wasted as the lesser monks took heavy damage.
β¦ VeαΉ£uveda, though, he was strong. The headmaster himself had to acknowledge he and his star pupils were gifted enough to stave off whatever he threw at them.
Amara visions turned out to have a truth to them which turned out to be greater than their present reality. Deeper and deeper into the ethereal substrate of the monkβs qi brought them higher and higher, until it was that, upon opening their eyes, the group would find themselves staring at the blackness of the vacuum highlighted by the intensely radiant pale face of the moon. If they turned around they could see the earth, sitting there with a pensive look on. They would also notice they were able to breathe perfectly fine.

β€ββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ₯ YakΕ watched as Yata took off to scout ahead for them even though it seemed quite up here, thought was probably why Yata went out to scout regardless she placed her attention to YakΕ who motioned her to sit which she did waiting for what she had to say.βI have no clue really, maybe something happened here that influenced Illo's stay at Death city?βAmara said as she folded her arms in slight frustration to what conclusion was eluding them, she turned towards Yosuzume who briefed her on what happened back at the Monestary that she missed as well as the details to their original plan but she seemed more surprised by the fight that broke out.βWait really!? Why would they fight each other, i thought the monks as a whole we're going to help us with the investagation?βShe said mostly to herself in increased confusion. Her attention was pulled back towards YakΕ who asked of her a request to go all out which made her a bit hesitant as she didn't know what would happen if she tried but then the words that YakΕ had spoke to her comforted her as she nodded as a gentle and calm smile appeared on her face.βThank you, i'll do my best.βShe said as her smile suddenly vanished as a very powerful presence made itself known for a brief moment that made her question.βW-what..was that..?β
The man couldn't help but loosen a grin at watching them stumble like that, never thought he get to see a monk do something like that ever though the same could have been said for them fighting each other.βNow now, there's no need for such venom in your voice like that, you are a monk aren't you? And a teacher as well from that getup, shouldn't someone like you outta give a good impression to your students?βThe man asked continuing to poke at them before letting loose a sigh to calm himself from not continuing and instead went forward to answer his question. βAlright enough of the fooling around i'll tell you why i'm here.β The man said before staying silent for a moment as to build up his next words. βGrocery shopping.βThe man suddenly said as if trying to shatter the tension in the air but before one could even chuckle or mock he immediately continued making the whole situation a bit more sinister.βFor your scrolls that you seem to love hiding from everyone so much.β The man said motioning towards the scroll's that were currently orbiting around him at a slow pace, now wasn't that enough to warrant some worry.βBut i'm almost done here so there's no need to feel flustered angery about the whole thing, but i just need you to wait just a few more moments if you can, i almost found the last scroll i need here.βThe man finished making a ridiculous request of them to wait before he steals another of the scrolls before leaving.βNow don't let me slow you down, lets get back to the brawling shall we?βThe man said letting them know it was okay for them to resume beating each other up.

Too distracted to act, the monks gave up their secrets to the intruder. Conveniently, sticking around to see what had been done would not have been pretty. Continue fighting they did.
"Horse-face shitbag!" Yelled the master of the physical arts to Vesuveda. "If you didn't try to intimidate them we could have had time to secure a perimeter. Now we're ruined!"
"O tamer of serpents!" Called Vesuveda, lyrically challenging the other's footwork and kicking tongue. "Farbeit for me to stand up for our school and the tradition and the truth we've cultivated here in this blessed land. Proud of action, you are, but so noble in stillness you are when it is not for exercise!"
"At least I know how to--"
"ENOUGH!" The growling match was batted down like the wildfire it was becoming by the headmaster. Tight grip on his staff, he stood like a tower and bowled over some of the lower-level monks with his imposing aura; Vesuveda and Kainari simply looked over, half-scowling at the old man bejeweled with wisdom and paternal wrinkles.
"If I had thought my best students, the ones who were going to carry on my legacy to new generations, were going to revert to children at the slightest upset..." His lip suddenly began to quiver: a rare sign of his age and the kind of fragility it brought; something the robes wouldn't be able to hide. "... Deal with this. Now!"
"Headmaster..." Said many at their own pace. Finally Kainari stepped forward.
"Teacher," he began kowtowing, "All you see is my fault. Please, punish me for losing our secrets." Vesuveda, sensing what Kainari was really doing, burst in rage and rocketed forth to his side.
"Oh no you don't! I see what you're up to. Trying to take the blame so I look like some kind of monster--too afraid to own up to his mistakes?--HA."
"Brother... What do you mean?" At this point the monks began to wrestle, Vesuveda being overpowered until his started to toss his old sparring partner around with his telekinetic abilities. A few steps above them, though, the headmaster went from rapid simmer to roaring boil.
"WILL YOU IGNORANT MONKEYS SHUT UP!" This time they only stopped long enough to point the finger at each other. "If I have to train new men then so be it!" he said holding them in the air. "But first I'll make sure no one can tell where one of you ends and the other begins!"
"I..." A small voice from below: a peck to the inside of an egg. It tried again. "I'll go after him, headmaster!" Crack. The Phoenix had hatched into the fray.
βThe boy wants to goβ¦ Isnβt that wonderful, headmast--β
βSILENCE.β Kainariβs derisive comments were cut short by the old master. No one else spoke until the young Phoenix did.
βPlease, headmaster,β said the boy, showing a level of respect he hadnβt before. He even went so far as to kowtow before the old man. βIf you let me go find himβ¦ Iβll take out the trash.β Gasps all around, followed by a vacuous silence. Eventually it was broken by the seemingly demented laugh of Headmaster Enlai.
βPlease, whatβs so funny, teacher?β
βVery cute,β said the old stack of robes bearing down on the youth, βbut letβs stick with the narrative. Sweep the entire monastery and you can go play tag with your new friend.β Another round of gasps.
βHeadmaster no!β βWhy?β βThere has to be a better way!β βI donβt think that was coconut milkβ¦β
βNow nowβ¦ Iβm sure our boy here is more than capable; he is, after all, the next in our great line of patriarchs. That, of course, means heβll be better even than Illo someday.β
βThank you, teacher! Your kindness is like a bottomless bowl of rice; one would do well not to go against the grain!β He still needed work on his mystic-speak, but the boy was excited. Who could blame him? No one who would be heard--he ran off so quickly to get suited for his next adventure.
Back in space, the team would find themselves finally before a giant crater. In the center was a man standing at the bottom, facing away with arms crossed in true villainous fashion. He was the one they were looking for from the beginning, the man who gave this crazy story its name.
Ananda. He was the man mentioned in the scrolls--very briefly--and in the file found at Shibusen the day before. His eyes, once he turned around, were the type of obsidian glare one would expect from a war-hardened veteran like him. In them, though, perhaps in the lines which accented the corners, was a jovialty and peace at heart which seemed much more aligned with the expectations of what a monk should be--though covered by the dust of austerity⦠And the moon.
His name literally means βlove/β At the academy he was given this name by the previous headmaster; all students having received titles as names, they came to the students once they had been perceived to be βon the path,β or to have become aware of the great game awaiting them--called by many names--enlightenment according to their most prominent character traits. Ananda, loving, gentle soul--more so than any of the other already sensitive ones initiated alongside him--was no except to this rule.
Before anyone was ready for it, the young Phoenix had mastered Taiji. He was a genius when it came to manipulating qi, from himself and his environment--as indeed they were one in the same. He saw this at an early age, and rocketing through the ranks, making a habit of surpassing his teachers in time for a nice nap or maybe some meditating or studying. He was always remembered so hopefully by the elder monksβ¦
βAre you the curious ones from Earth?β He asked turning around to reveal that celebrated visage. βWhat can I help you with?β His voice was so even-toned. It was hard to imagine this was anything but a friend.

β€ββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ₯ It seemed Amara wasn't the only one colored surprised by the sudden blast of power but it seemed YakΕ was preparing herself and everyone else for a possibly messy encounter to what awaited them ahead as she was given a odd looking Kunai, the weight of the weapon felt odd in her hands but it managed to calm her down a bit as she commented with hopeful enthusiasm. βHoprfully it's an easy one..β She said walking and following the others towards were the rupture of energy seemed to have sprouted from paying a bit less intention to the buff looking wildman then she normally would. As Amara followed the others what awaited them was a giant crater and what resided within gave Amara hint of unease as she watched from above to see a monk looking figure crossing his arms in a fashion that gave Amara the feeling of uneasiness, she figured that this was the guy miss YakΕ was looking for in aiding them but suddenly the man turned around towards them as he gave a glare that made her slowly slide behind miss YakΕ as she still peaked from behind to eye the dust covered monk who then suddenly asked them if they came from Earth in a surprisingly calmish tone that caused her to slide out from behind YakΕ figuring she overreacted with Ananda. βY-yeah.. We came up here to meet with you sir..β She said as she helped answering the first question and decided to let the details be handled by the others.
The man grew a smile as he watched them resume their fight amongst one another he would by all accounts sit there and watch them duke it out but he had a job to do and with this in mind he suddenly teleported down to the lower levels of the Monestarys library which by the way was covered in cobwebs galore and moved forward and approached the last scroll that he needed, covered in traps most likely he simply teleported the thing into his hands and teleported himself outide the wall of the Monestary now holding a scroll covered in a jade colored casing lime to preserve the scroll, he simply let go of the scroll causing it to orbit around him like the others. Satisfied with his actions he prepared himself to but suddenly stopped himself in time to eavesdrop on the monks conversation about sending someone after him, like the prospect of having someone to fught with as he waited for his partner to finally appear didn't sound that bad to be honest, leaning forward after hearing this he resumed what left off at and teleported himself in the depths of a near by forest clearing which surprisingly was still close enough to where he could still see the Monestary from all the way over here, he felt bit sorry for his pursuer though just a bit. Deciding to do something to help pass the boredom for a bit he decided check on his partner and started up a conversation with him telepathically.βNever thought you'd be right about them but they really are just children.βThe man began as he poked individually at each of the scrolls that floated by in front of him.βWhat can I say Mikishka, people who live up on a mountain all their lives are bound to go senile even if their in their twenty's HAHAHA.βHis partner replied back in his head.βI figured they would be a bit weird but on that scale? It seems I owe you a fight when we get back, but still this makes this job all the more fun. By the way.. I finished collecting the scrolls, how is your progress in mountain climbing?βMikishka questioned curious to know what his progress was.βMore then halfway there, you gotta love the small things in life, like the birds that I've been crushing into the mountain! Shows them not to peck on me HAHAHA!!!βHis partner seemed to be enjoying himself just as Mikishka would be in a hopeful couple more minutes.βNot to rain on your parade or anything but the boss wouldn't be to please if goof off to much..βMikishka said as he could feel a sudden rush of fear that rose up from his partner at the mere mention of their boss.βBut I'm sure as long as we do our job and finish it we will have nothing to worry about. Anyways I'll be taking my leave now, See you at the top.βMikishka said ending the conversation with that as now patiently waited for his entertainment to arrive.
