With a shake of his head, Regius turned back to his sisters, deciding not to let it bother him. Or, at least, not during the daylight. He would think on it again later. As he moved slowly back to the corpse, he spotted his father and he stopped mid-step. With his arrogent grin plastering itself upon his face, he changed directions to follow his father but far enough behind that he would be just a black shadow in the grass.

Finishing his morning patrol of the Pride Lands, Talcorin turned back toward the smaller Den with quicker steps. He passed the large Den with a nod to the cubs and Venati, who lay at its mouth in the early morning light. Moving through the Pride Lands, he passed a small Oasis like copse of trees, and then hesitated, stepping into the lush greenery. Moving through the leaves, he heard a soft warning growl and the sound of claws on stone. Halting with his head high, he smiled as he recognized Illitashia's voice. "Beloved?" He called with a gentle smile.
Illitashia smiled and sheathed her claws, nosing her grey daughter Alu back to cuddle with her siblings. "Talcorin."
Her voice brought him out of the brush and he trotted up to her with a warm smile, nuzzling her lovingly. "Heart of my heart." He breathed, glad to feel her resting against him, warm and safe and alive.

Watching his father disappear into trees, Regius followed, pushing his nose through the greenery without hesitation. His father went through, what harm could there be waiting for him. He froze, barely through enough to see the king, the queen, and their cubs. Cubs? His purple eyes went wide as a million thoughts ran through his head before settingly on one. True royality...

"Light of my life." Illitashia purred, leaning against him and sighing. With Talcorin at her side, she felt safe, relaxed. With a smile, she licked his cheek and walked toward the Den, eager to show him the children she had labored to bring into the world.
With a huff, the eldest daughter stood upon her sire's entrance. Black coated like him, she had a bold, protective, dangerous spirit that was unheard of in a cub. Standing near her delicate sister, she glared at the intruder and hissed.
Illitashia laughed and nosed her. "Talcorin, your eldest daughter, Natalia..."
Talcorin bowed down, putting his head on his forepaws, at eyelevel with the kit. He smiled, and huffed at her, his very breath strong enough to make her wobble. She was newly born, and still unsteady on her paws, but even a strong wind wouldn't snuff her spirit. "Well met, BlackRose."
Far more kindly dispossed to strangers than her sister, Alaula stood and slunk forward, peeking over her father's paws and nose at his eyes. When he looked at her she flattened to the floor again with a squeek.
Talcorin laughed and nuzzled the delicate child, smiling. "The youngest?"
Illitashia laughed. "Yes.. Alaula, born as dawn was breaking this morning.. The youngest, shyest, but quite sweet..."

Upon a pair of wobbly legs, the dark coated cub made his way blindly towards his father. The sounds of his sisters brough him forward as he plopped upon his rump, his head tilted back as he pawed at his fathers muzzle.
His way over swatting at something he took as a threat to his sisters. He mewed loudly in protest as his brow wrinkled.

Talcorin smiled at the cub, huffing. "Not such a way to greet your father, my fine lad.. Although, in the defense of your sisters, such actions are, admirable." He glanced at his mate.
Illitashia smiled. "Arien... His name is Arien." She nosed her son gently. "Be nice to your father, Dear One." With a sigh, she settled, laying down and curling herself around her two daughters.

Regius moved in through the brush a little, making it shift and rustle against his fur. He dropped into a bow when he cleared the underbrush and cleared his throat softly. He didn't, however, drop his eyes from the scene before him. He stayed low in the bow, makin sure the queen did not see him as a threat to her cubs and waited for acknowlodgement.

Illitashia turned her eyes from her own cubs to the son of Venati, a smile sweeping over her face. "Well met Prince Regius, how are you?"
Talcorin turned and smiled, amused the cub had made it to the Den, escaping his notice. "Indeed, approach and tell us what troubles you, Young Prince."

"I am well, Queen Illitashia. Congratulations on your kits." He purred, formality dripping from his voice. He moved inside slowly, eyeing the kits before looking to his father. "Nothing bother me, father." His voice was still doused in formality. "I saw you wandering your lands and I thought... Well, I thought..." He faultered, losing the formal tone and sounding like the cub he was.

Illitashia gave a silken laugh and nuzzled her children. "Thank you Regius, you are most kind, and eloquent, for one so young." She glanced at her mate and nosed his cheek, turning her eyes back to the young Prince. He rather puzzled her, did young Regius.. Always seeming so, determined, and silent.
"Very welll then... You thought what, Young Prince?" Talcorin asked gently, taking a step toward him. "Come closer, please, you are most welcome here... My Lady and I do not mind..."
Alu, shy though she was, tumbled over Natalia's tail and inched closer to her half brother, considering him with wide eyes. She could not yet quite speak, but gave a little mewl, trying to get his attention.
Natalia, insulted by her sister's disregard for her tail, merely huffed and settled down, curling her feathers around and resting them on her paws, as though to assess the damage of her sibling's careless feet.

Regius dropped his eyes to the small grey girl, smiling sweetly and bowing to her. "Greetings Princess. And thank you, my queen. The compliment is appreiceated." He again bowed his head lightly in her direction. Reg looked at his father, taking a step backwards to counter the step that his father had taken forward. "I thought that perhaps we could spend some time together, but you are required here for now. When you have some time, my lord father, my sisters and I would love to spend some time with you." He bowed to the royal family. "I will take my leave now. Stay safe and well until we see each other again." He backed out of the underbrush into the bright sunlight and turned to make his way back to his family.

Illitashia smiled as he spoke to her, and then frowned as she watched him move away. He was a puzzle, and she was sure there was something he felt compelled to ask.. But he hadn't really said nothing, and then left. Peculiar.
Rather taken back by the Prince's words and actions, Talcorin merely nodded as he watched Regius move back towards the Den. He felt rather guilty that the lad had sought him out in order to request his attentions. "A poor father I seem to be."
Alaula mewled a farewell to her half brother, huffed at her father, and promptly went to sleep, tired by all the excitement.

Amirah seemed to appear out of thin air as she approached her mother, and adoring smile on her face. "Mother..." She paused. There were kits, and many members of the pride. "They're beautiful..." She whispered, as if afraid that her voice would harm them.

Regius hung his head, dark thoughts running through his mind. His attention was turned so inward that he didn't notice the tree until a tip of his flake brushed the bark. He looked up sharply before leaping into one of the lower branches. Slowly, he pulled himself up the tree, digging his claws into the bark to keep his balance.

Tenari strode through the Pride Lands, getting more and more used to her ability as a spirit. Tilting her head back, she became visible, and then called up the bark. "Regius!" She called in her sweet voice. "What troubles you Brother?"
