Amaree nodded and darted off at Areli's signal. She tore around the other side of the gazelle that Areli was attacking. She helped Brooke separate the herd and looked to see which of the youngsters Brooke was gesturing toward. She growled in agreement and they sped up. Amaree went at the right side of the beast, clawing and biting at it's shoulder and then going for the neck. She hoped that the effort of the two would help bring down the youngster. She wondered how Areli was doing with her own quarry.

The world narrowed down to just herself, Amaree, and the gazelle. Brooke threw herself at it, latching her jaws onto the top of its neck. Her weight unbalanced the youngster as it kicked in futile attempts to free itself, and it came crashing down toward the young lioness. For a frozen moment, all she could see was the golden brown of the gazelle's neck, and then she wrenched the grip of her jaws open and let the momentum carry her to her feet a little ways off before scampering back to help with the kill.

Amaree noticed that the gazelle would soon falter, and gave a final great hit to the chest, tripping the gazelle and bringing it to the ground. Amaree held it down with a strong paw and gave a final bite to the front of the neck to ensure that it was deceased. She looked up at Brooke, blood dripping down her chin. "It's done." She said, looking over Areli's way to see if her kill had been as successful.

Brooke smiled faintly. 'So it is. Jolly good show, eh?' She joked, turning her gaze over to Areli and her gazelle. 'Leave this one be, then. Let's go see if we can help her out.'
Brooke turned from the carcass of the young gazelle and trotted toward Areli and the big one she was wrestling. It was kicking and bucking. Brooke looked at it worriedly. If it kept on, it could give Areli a good kick.

Areli jerked up alittle, as the large animal's leg thrashed. She had to kill this thing already! She picked up her head alittle, and opened her jaw, before digging her claws in deep, and sinking her teeth back into its neck, cutting the cord that kept it alive. In moments, the gazelle was no longer moving. Areli let go of the beast, thinking it was dead, but, she found out other wise, as it shifted its weight, and with its hoove, slammed one last blow on Areli, hitting her front leg. She roared out in pain, before leaping forward, and bitting the beast, this time, killing it for good. She stared at it for a moment, panting, before falling on her side, her wounded shoulder up. Her fur on her shoulder turned wet, and started to turn red and swell alittle. She moaned slightly from the pain and stinging she felt from the wound.

Amaree nodded to Brooke and trotted over to where they had last spotted their hunting sister. She looked over the land, and spotted the kill, and something laying next to it. She squinted to try to see what it was. The orange fur gave it away. She gasped. "Oh my god, Areli! We have to get over there Brooke!" Amaree said to her companion and tore off in Areli's direction. When they reached the bleeding lioness, Amaree began to lick her shoulder and put her paw on the shoulder to try to stop the bleeding. "Areli.... Areli! Areli talk to me... Are you okay? What happened?" Amaree was frantic. Her best friend was injured. "Brooke! Run and get Rellick! Quick! We're gonna need help gettin gher back!" Amaree said. She looked down at Areli. "It's okay. You'll be alright. Just hold still.."

Areli coughed a laugh. "Amaree, I'm not dieing, my shoulder is just wounded." she said, and coughed another laugh. "I just wont be able to walk for awile, not with that leg anyway." she said, glancing at her still bleeding shoulder. She winced as Amaree tried to nurse it back to help. "Stop... that, stings more..." she murmured, then glanced at Brooke. "Yeah... go get Rellick, thats a good idea... oh, and... please make sure Jay doesn't come along, somethings telling me he'd have some remark to say about this." she said, and coughed one of those tired laughs again.

Amaree smirked and flopped down by Areli. "Well, that was a successful first hunt... at least we have plenty to last us awhile." Amaree said, licking Areli on the muzzle. "Just rest and when Rellick gets here, he and I can take you back, alright? You've worked hard enough for one day." Amaree said, happy that her best friend wasn't hurt.

Areli looked at Amaree and smiled. "Thanks." she said, then looked over at the two's smaller kill. "You guys did pretty good." she said, then looked at Amaree. "Hey Ree... maybe you should bring that over here, so the buzzards don't deside to fly all the way here for our food" she said, forcing a laugh.

Amaree nodded. "You'll be okay?" She asked, then turned toward their kill. She noticed that there was already a buzzard beginning to swarm around it. She growled loudly to scare it off, and it flew off. "At least it knows its place." Amaree said to herself. She grabbed the gazelle by the back of its neck and began to drag it off back in the direction of Areli. "Ah leesht ish nah too heavah..." She said, slobbering all over herself, the gazelle still in her mouth. She set it down for a minute and looked back over at Areli, who seemed to be resting. She caught her breath, the blood beginning to dry on her chin. Then she grabbed the gazelle again and pulled it the rest of the way. She flopped it on top of the other and sat on the other side, figuring it would be good to guard it until the others got there.

Within his cave, Rellick gave a long stretch, roaring softly. The faintest tingle in his flakes assured him of trouble, and he lept down from his lofty perch and trotted out of the cave, golden eyes searching the land. In the distance, he could make out golden and tan shapes against the green, and knew it was his Pride Members. The faintest coppery scent of blood reached his nostrils, and he sped to a run. 'Something can't have gone wrong.. Not to one of my girls.'
((Aww.. Look at our sweet king! ))

Areli watched as she came back with the smaller one. "Good..." she said, as the sun beat on them. Atleast they where more in a grassy area than a sandy area, oh that would be hot. She sighed slightly, trying to force herself to move onto her belly, but her shoulder begged not to move. Finaly, she gave in, and just stayed on her side.
[Awww, his girls!]

((Aww! whee So cute!))
Amaree looked up and saw a red and gold flicker in the distance. "Rellick's coming." She smelled his scent on the wind. "Even before Brooke got too far... wow..." Amaree said, looking up and watching. As Rellick approached, Amaree got up and ran to him. "Areli was injured during the hunt. She was kicked in the shoulder. I think it'll be okay, but she can't walk. I'll need your help getting her back." Amaree nodded toward where they had been sitting.

Rellick nodded, trotting over and nosing Areli gently. "Hows the Mighty Huntress?" He asked gently. The wind picked up, bringing the scent of the herd around him, and then taking it away again. In the soft breeze, the scent of his pride surrounded him, and Rell relaxed. ' I'm home.'

Areli lifted her head slightly, rubbing her neck under his chin. "I'm fine, 'cept for my shoulder here..." she said, and looked at the gazelle. "'e Got me good before he died." she said, and sighed slightly, as she once again tried to force herself up, but could onto get onto her belly.
