Pouncing, now that was probably something that had been inherited from Demyx, Kaleb thought as he recalled his first meeting with the musician.
He glanced up at the waterproof barrier with a thoughtful expression. "For that purpose, I would probably increase the yield strength of the shield and it's elastic properties. That way there would be more energy transference, and your brother wouldn't hurt himself much when hitting it."

Kaleb briefly wondered how fast the audio would have to be moving to bounce right off a shield like that, but since that speed translated to being knocked flat if the pounce actually reached it's target, he quickly pushed it out of his mind.
The mage grinned. "In that case, the shield could also double as a source of entertainment at your castle."

"It could." Vivace would find it entertaining and she'd get a laugh out of knocking him off his feet.
"If you can change the strength of the shield couldnt you also eventually be able to move it around. Like a force shield?" If she could do that she could even push things around then.

Kaleb nodded. "It is possible, I have some shield spells that I can move at will. But when it comes to force shields, if you can become efficient at working with air elements you can apply forces without the need for a shield." He smiled sheepishly. "I'm not strong at all, but my magic can easily lift furniture off the ground."

She chewed on her tongue for a moment. "Yea. Air woudl work better cause you could just used the air around someone or something to move it rather than having to create energy to do it. You can move stuff too? that's neat!"

Kaleb's smile widened at her enthusiasm. "The technique I was taught involves using the air to apply force to an object, so the object will float if the force applied is greater than the force of gravity."
He paused for a minute, looking up at the water dripping off the invisible shield. "If you decided to focus on water magic, you could probably do the same thing using water vapour in the air. Except the energy you invest would probably differ based on the humidity."

"Yea. So if one worked with water vapor your power strength would depend on how much water was in the air or how much water you could force into the air." She tapped her muzzle for a moment. "But Demyx can create water out of nothing .... so if i could do that too then i could force water into the air and it would then only depend on my strength"

Kaleb nodded, "That would be a good way to remove humidity as an issue, as long as creating the water isn't significantly difficult. I've only ever seen Demyx create liquid water, do you think it's possible to create it in vapour form too?"

"I dont know. To get water to vapor form usually requires heat right? So i'd have to have a way to heat it up in a flash to make it useful that way. Either that or I'd have to be able to create it in tiny enough ammounts that it mixed with the air."

The healer chewed on his lip a bit as he puzzled through it with her. "Working with enough heat to vaporize water in an instant could be dangerous, and it would also take a lot of magical energy to create the heat." He rubbed at his forehead. "Another thought would be to create water and then alter it's density, at some point it will naturally have to disperse into the air."

"Yea ..... people can create fog right? So if you could create fog and you played with it enough you could create it in a thin enough veil for it to dispurse into the air and make it useable."
Her tail swished lazily behind her. "I think fog would be easiest since it's water vapor of a sort its just technally too think"

Kaleb's face lit up at that idea. "I didn't even think of fog, but with increasing magical strength, you probably wouldn't even have to worry about dispersal."
The scrawny healer couldn't help smiling, magical discussions of this nature were rarely found since he had moved away from the peers he had completed school with, and it was exciting to find someone he could talk with.

She smiled when she came up with something that Kaleb hadnt thought of. At least that ment she wasnt completely behind him.
"If you could lay a thin enough layer of fog then you could just push that around. Though someone could see that comming so it would be better to dispurse it in the air completely if you wanted to suprise someone"
